Vare, the Summoner |

"Miss Anahita, I..." he attempts, before the wolf's snarl quiets him with the shock of it. He looks utterly lost for a moment, confused and sad that Anahita's anger had turned on him. What had been a joyful moment full of affection and passion and turn into this... ugliness.
After a moment, watching her fade away into the darkness this his own anger flares at last, and he stands up straight, casting a quick spell and he is gone from the forest, arriving unceremoniously in the Headmaster's office, and slamming a clenched fist onto the desk in anger. He doesn't sound, but his normally pleasant voice is cold with anger. "Headmaster, that was unnecessary! Miss Anahita is right, we are both humans! There's no reason why we should have to hold back for the sake of others!" and perhaps if he had seen that right away, she wouldn't have sounded so betrayed. So hurt...
"Your school is a wondrous place, but... this! Even if it was a mistake, should it not be ours to make?! You allow the teachers here to physically injure students as part of their lessons plans, but this?! There was joy! And happiness there!"

Fei, of the Sun Soul |

"Repeatedly...." (o_O)

Vai Sunwake |

"No, I haven't had a chance to talk to Mom and Dad......there's something to talk about I take it?"
"Yeah, I think Fi and Ardi are trying to locate all the firebirds who have been abjured. Want to give them a heads up before the sun goes boom, you know?"
"Your playing is getting better."
"There's something to talk about, definitely. I won't say anything else, not mine to share, after all." she says quietly, watching her brother fondly as he takes his time to caress each egg in turn, playing delicate and slow music. It was getting late after all, she probably shouldn't get the eggs too excited.
"That.... sounds difficult. Though that makes sense why they're with Grandma then." Vai sighs, though she smiles when her brother compliments her playing. "I do have a great teacher after all." she replies, but looks a little worried. "... The Firebirds sure have gone through alot. I wonder how Ignace and Chara are taking the news of the Sun... they've never even been there though... so it probably doesn't really matter to them"

Salis of Bletherad |

"Is this a 'names have been changed to protect the innocent' kind of less fictional than it might be presented or have details been changed too?" she asked, taking another step closer, making it so she had to look up to keep watching his face.
He smirked as he wrapped his arms around her. "Some names have been change, but every event happened. With the same details as the story. Even the battle with the gods avatar as stupid as my companions were for provoking it." He sighs.

Vare, the Summoner |

"Briefly, Professor. You want to see her in that manner? Prove it was not a fling! Then, if you be discreet about it until she either graduates or you take your leave, you may continue." He's calm, rational even. "If she agrees, that will be a point in your favor won't it?"
Vare's anger and passion bleeds away for the second time in so many minutes in the face of the Headmaster's calm rationality. He seems a bit bitter though, and stands stiffly. "Very well. I will prove that it is not a fling, as you put it. Assuming she will allow me the chance to do so. I swear to you, Headmaster, I did not invite her to dinner with the intentions of things going as far as they did. We had resolved to wait... but we were caught up in the moment." he did not sound hopeful about Anahita's forgiveness, but he sounded at least resolute.
Another spell, and he's gone, back to the forest, back to the spot he had left only a minute or so ago. He casts about for the girl - the wolf? - that had left him. "Miss Anahita?!" he shouts into the growing darkness of the evening.
"I'm sorry." he says more quietly, hanging his head slightly, apparently remorseful.

Karish Conway |

"He'll be having a fit, that's for certain," Karish thought, shuffling the stack of thick tomes from one arm to the other before prying open the cabinet drawer, ignoring the cry of rusty protest from its hinges. It wasn't the first late night she'd stayed, but at only a few days into the school year she'd had more late nights than not. She was thoroughly convinced it was simply a part of the adaptation, the change of habits and patterns that even after all this time she still associated with the life of a traveling adventurer, knight errant, and front-line war hero. It didn't help that when the summons had come and she'd answered, the work Denton had found to supplement their income on this new world and keep himself occupied didn't require him to leave their home, as most scribing duties could be performed at any desk provided proper ink and paper, and a steady supply of the mage's own arcane energies.
She shrugged off the stray thought. Denton would be fine, and he'd worry over her as he always did, and for naught, and he knew it - the things they'd fought together weren't going to be a threat here, and what trouble she did run into was nothing she couldn't handle herself. It was a little flattering, even after all this time, to be worried after. But there was little need.
She shut the cabinet and gave the room another look-over. Satisfied with the arrangement, with all the books returned to their proper storage place and the class devices in their intended repositories, she declared her work for the night complete and packed up her belongings. Her senses alerted her to the arrival of the courier before they even reached the door, but by the time she'd reached it they were gone, leaving the hall outside her classroom as empty as before. The ledger left attached contained a short notification of class alterations as well as a list of students who, due to an earlier adjustment or oversight, would be added to her classes come Monday. Karish gave the list a short read, then secured it away in her desk with the rest of her documents with a nod. She'd examine it in more detail after the weekend was over.
All that completed, she tossed the remainder of her things in her satchel, belted on her axe, and secured the halberd in place over her shoulder. The glamour of the tunic and dress she chose might conceal her armor, she was far too paranoid and experienced with trouble to dare risking being caught without it when it was needed, but she felt no such desire to conceal her weaponry. As she left, she paused at the last bookshelf and, after a cursory glance, selected one book from the stock. She stepped out, shut and locked the door behind her, and strode down the halls, beginning to read as she made her way toward the exit.
As before, she sensed the approaching figure before she saw him. Which, given she had her gaze buried in the pages of the book, was not all that surprising. She glanced up, intending only to determine if she was about to collide with an oncoming student or coworker, and assured no one was in her path was about to return her attention to the story when motion caught her gaze. Passing not far from the entry corridor was a figure that at first glance Karish almost dismissed as too large to be a student, then disregarded that thought as too many of the student body weren't of humanoid size and shape to blanket expectations so plainly. A second glance confirmed this was no student, not the way he was outfitted, with an enormous blade and armor certainly of no common design. She squinted slightly, hoping for a better view in the distance.
Those decorations on the man's chest were clearly not the standards of an exemplary student. Those looked more like medals of war. And as far as she was aware, Karish didn't think many students here had a grafted skin patch on their shaved heads. Clearly a visitor, an unfamiliar teacher... or an intruder. She closed the book and stuck it under one arm, and quickened her pace slightly, moving toward the stranger, making no attempt to conceal her presence.
Nor did she make any attempt to obscure her own appearance, though she certainly could have - that ability was among her repertoire, at least for the rest of today, until the binding ended. The uneducated might mistake her for a tiefling or fiend, what with her burn-reddened and craagged skin, her flame-golden eyes with black sclera, sharpened black teeth, clawed fingers, and crown of horns. Those more familiar with the more obscure arcana surrounding the Hells might know otherwise.
"Hail, stranger," she called, scorched voice rasping yet still carrying strong across the now-shortened distance toward the entry corridor, as she continued to approach the intersection. When the stranger turned, he'd see a woman just under six feet, dressed in a blue and silver tunic and dress that clashed strongly with the traveling boots she wore and the weapons she carried - a barbed halberd over her left shoulder, opposite to a plain brown satchel she had slung over her right, and a broad waraxe buckled to her right hip. It might take, in the dim lighting, a little longer for him to notice the more bizarre oddities of her appearance outside her clothing. Unless, of course, his nightvision was as good as her own.

"I'm not sure. I haven't had a chance to talk with either of them yet. And Raelle's one trip was pretty traumatic I hear. But lack of attachment to the place is a good sign I think. It shows that the firebirds can learn to thrive in a new environment....although actually they're really bad examples. Between Ignace's control issues and Chara's medical problems..."

"Hail, stranger," she called, scorched voice rasping yet still carrying strong across the now-shortened distance toward the entry corridor, as she continued to approach the intersection. It might take, in the dim lighting, a little longer for him to notice the more bizarre oddities of her appearance outside her clothing. Unless, of course, his nightvision was as good as her own.
Miklos halted as he heard the greeting. His large grey hands twitched subconsciously, ready to make a grab for Heartbreaker.
I am not on the line. I am not on the line The mantra calmed him, and he relaxed somewhat. His grafted eye focused on the greeter, taking in the details with that preternatural clarity the fiendish orb gave him.
A fiend-born, I'd bet my Ruby Star on it. He thinks And one who has seen the elephant. And a female as well. I will have to hear her story
His Demon Eye revealed interesting auras surrounding the female's form. Curiouser and curiouser. Unless cloaked, she was reading as a soul of purity
"Hail, ma'am." He answers in a soft tone that seems to be out of place with his hulking demeanor. "I am looking for one Headmaster Ryo. Would you know where I could find him?"

"I think I'm going to need to reread that book more carefully," she said with a chuckle, no longer trying to flee from him. "It seems you have led an extraordinary life."

Zilla |

"Yes, of course, though I'll need some help getting into mine as well. If your new size is going to be a permanent thing, Zilla, I'll just remake yours in a smaller size," she said, as she started to work on putting on her pink yukata.
"I hope it won't. I'm going to have Hew try again tomorrow to make me bigger." Zilla states as she tries helping with Ignace's yukata.

"Hail, ma'am." He answers in a soft tone that seems to be out of place with his hulking demeanor. "I am looking for one Headmaster Ryo. Would you know where I could find him?"
She hadn't expected the eye, and while she didn't jump - too many years on the battlefield had trained her well against extreme reactions like that - a slight expression of surprise was impossible to avoid. She recovered quickly enough, and though curious she couldn't tell if the grafts were inherently magical or not without casting magic to investigate, which struck her as a bit rude and inappropriate at the moment. She put the thought aside. If he was asking for the Headmaster, he was likely either a lost visitor or a prospective instructor. He certainly looked like he'd seen hell... perhaps literally... and a decent share of the battlefield. The grafts even looked to follow old scars, almost as if intended to stymie critical injuries with fiendish flesh.
Still, there wasn't much, she imagined, he could do to threaten anyone without the school reacting - though she didn't yet have even an inkling of understanding how the wards managed the things they did - and the man looked more out of sorts than intending trouble, regardless. There could be little harm, she decided, in giving him the answer he wanted, even without a spoken reason. "The Headmaster's office is down the hall ahead of you some distance. I can escort you, if you'd like." Her posture eased slightly, much of the surprise of his appearance and the apprehension of encountering an unfamiliar intruder gone and replaced by a ready stance Miklos would likely recognize: the form of someone who has spent a lot of time fighting and knows how to be relaxed and yet prepared and able to move - in attack or in retreat - at a second's notice.

Vai sighs again. She didn't want to talk about such depressing things right now. It was bad enough that she couldn't get Fei's last horrible scream from her head. She falters slightly in her playing, plucking flat instead of sharp. She quickly recovers, back into the melody. "I wish there was some way I could help... but just being around Chara is dangerous, and Ignace won't let me stay in the same room as her for very long."

Midori Tsuyomi |

"I hope it won't. I'm going to have Hew try again tomorrow to make me bigger." Zilla states as she tries helping with Ignace's yukata.
Midori is quick to help Ignace get dressed, feeling the warmth of her skin as she brushes occasionally against it. "Your skin is so soft, Ignace-chan." she says conversationally, as the yukata is wrapped around her.
"Ano... Hew-kun won't get hurt trying to make you bigger, ne Zilla-chan?" the aasimar girl asks, sounding a little concerned.

Captain Smegly Rumpus |

When Fei looks back around, the young woman has already disappeared inside. He walks toward the source of the voice, and comes upon the massive, bedraggled giant standing at the far end of the Cafeteria windows.
Smegly looks round and down, seeing the young man before him, he steps back.
"Smegly sorrys just Smegly hungry, boom take away all Smeglys dinners and now to dark to find eats, me smells food here and comes see if Smegly can works to get some."
He gos into his pocket and brings out a tinny little coin,
"Or Smegly pays get hot soups?

The man nods his head, and notes the prepared stance. He unconsciously mirrors it, his demonic eye probing for tells and weak spots as a matter of form. She doesn't seem hostile, but he hadn't spent years out fighting in the Grey Waste without learning that letting your guard down was the easiest way to get killed, even among allies.
Indeed, one who has seen the elephant He thinks
"Thank you. I would appreciate that."
He sticks out a massive hand
"I am Miklos."

Salis of Bletherad |

"I think I'm going to need to reread that book more carefully," she said with a chuckle, no longer trying to flee from him. "It seems you have led an extraordinary life."
"Anytime you wish." With a smile he kisses her on the forehead. "I never really thought about my life being that extraordinary, but now that you mention it. I have seen and done more than most I guess. But that isn't something I tend to dwell on."

Rosa.Luminass.. |

He sticks out a massive hand"I am Miklos."
To one side a form comes into being, Rosa all 18' foot tall, gleaming adamatium, on her back a massive gun sword.
She looks around and then see Miklos, stepping for would she looks at him.
"Greeting Karish, Greetings Miklos Steelfather, I must apologias for being late to meet you on arrival, The headmaster asked me to take you to his office once you got here. I am Rosa Luminass the schools PE teacher, It is nice to meet you, I have heard a lot about you, and its good that you have agreed to take up the post offered you, we are in need of one with your skills here. In future one can place ones hand on any wall and say or think of where one wishs to go, arrows will come into being and lead you that place. Also here is a Teacher data pad and coms link, so you can use the schools coms system."
Rosa hands both over.
"If you are ready I or Karish or both of us will take you to the head masters office"

A noise caught her attention and she looked over her shoulder and blushed. "I think the librarian disapproves of our choice of setting for this conversation....perhaps we can find somewhere with less er....audience....to talk...or not talk," she added with an impish grin.

Karish Conway |

He sticks out a massive hand
"I am Miklos."
She takes the offered hand with her free one and shakes firmly, strength in her wiry frame making itself known in her grip where it lacks in visible muscle or bulk. "Karish." The clipped, sharp first syllable and sibilant hiss to the second are unmistakable, classic Infernal - remarkably similar to "ku'ryss", a word best translated "unknown". "And before you ask, yes, it actually is my name." The implied "Long story" doesn't need to be spoken.
"This way." She motions him to follow, then slows her pace enough to let him move up alongside her. She might be assured in the school's magical defenses and protections, but old habits die hard, and no soldier who has survived the battlefield is want to leave an unknown element at their exposed back. Once on even footing, she resumes a more comfortable pace, careful not to overtake nor lag behind the visitor.
"If you do not mind my asking, what brings you here?"
To one side a form comes into being, Rosa all 18' foot tall, gleaming adamatium, on her back a massive gun sword.
Karish comes to a halt and her hand immediately goes to the shaft of her halberd as the towering figure suddenly manifests. She retracts her motion slowly, offering Rosa a polite nod and a slight smirk coming to her lips as the construct woman breaks into a brisk but enlightening explanation for the man's arrival. "Suppose that answers that question," she says softly, mostly under her breath, as she resumes her relaxed but wary pose.
"I always forget about the directional devices. Too used to doing things the old fashioned way."

Phaezeriel |

Lyn, I think you forgot that Phaezeriel was in the hatchery.
Phaezeriel was about to go greet Jiminy when he came into the hatchery, but Vai was not far behind him and from their body language, Phaezeriel got the impression that they were having a private conversation. Instead he continued to perch in a corner of the room, politely ignoring any words he might overhear and enjoying the music as Vai played.
After a few moments he turns his eyes to them again, ::Vai and Jiminy, I do not know if you are trying to have a private conversation, but I would not have it seem that I was eavesdropping. If you would prefer, I can leave.::

Miklos notes the unusual Infernal name, but having lived with legionnaires who usually had pseudonyms (his own name was one such, he didn't care for his birth name) it doesn't surprise him
"I am looking for a new career. I have rolled the dice once too many, and I have seen too much to want to continue in the Grey Legion*"
He seemed to be ready to say more when the metallic golem/giant appears. He leaps back, and a six-foot blade of ebon metal laced with reddish patternings is suddenly in his hands
"By Bel's brass balls!" He swears.
As the being begins talking he relaxes, and sheathes his weapon
I am not on the line. I am not on the line. this isn't Azzagrat
A swirl of fractured memories distract him as he struggles to contain his reflexes. A crooked alleyway with dozens of red eyes in the shadows. Winged shapes circling. Fireballs exploding around him, the smell of burning flesh and worse things assault..
No, I am not on the line. That is my former life.
He forces a small smile onto his seamed face. He accepts the odd trinkets from the giant
"Well met Rosa," He intones "I apologize for showing steel. That was most rude. I am afraid I was unprepared for your ...appearance."

Rosa.Luminass.. |

"Well met Rosa," He intones "I apologize for showing steel. That was most rude. I am afraid I was unprepared for your ...appearance."
Rosa dos not seem to worried more please that he showed fast responses.
"It is best you did as you did, Trooper you may have gone from the frying an into the fire here, this world is much sort, but an evil old and cunning beyond words, an evil that has a star spanning empire at its claw tips and wants nothing more than this world and every thing on wiped from space and time. Show blade fast suits me just fine. I just wish the ones you will be teaching here will lean from your knowledge on staying alive."
Rosa Pulls her own blade gun, blue light shining down its length.
"And I to wish to learn from a master of your caliber."
She bows with respect to Miklos and She puts the living soul blade back in place.

Anahita bint Tariq |

Vare will find, only silence and that far and away howl, of (most likely), Anahita's anguished, mournful voice, further and further away as time passes.
Then, there's the silence eventually of the night and the life that fills in with it.
Whatever her emotions or state of mind, she leaped and ran off into the darkness to find a salve to sooth her.
Peace and tranquility should flutter about him, yet, nature still wary of his intrusion as a man in robes, among the trees around him.

Jiminy, Prankster of the Future |

Lyn, I think you forgot that Phaezeriel was in the hatchery.
Phaezeriel was about to go greet Jiminy when he came into the hatchery, but Vai was not far behind him and from their body language, Phaezeriel got the impression that they were having a private conversation. Not exactly. I wasn't sure if he was still there and didn't want to assume since I wasn't sure about your availability for the scene. Sorry for not mentioning that in the discussion. In hindsight I should have.
"Oh, hey Phaeze. Didn't realize you were here. It's okay. We weren't really talking about anything secret. Just family stuff. You're practically part of the family anyways, as evidenced by the fact that we let you in the hatchery. You're fine to stay if you want."

Ignace del Sol |

Midori Tsuyomi wrote:"I wouldn't think so. I think the hard parts over. I could be wrong all I do is shape and control the body. Hew will tell me If he can or not when I ask." She assures Midori.

Hew-kun won't get hurt trying to make you bigger, ne Zilla-chan?" the aasimar girl asks, sounding a little concerned.
"I'm sure you'll both get better at it with practice. It may be more difficult to do now because it's not something you've done before."
"Oh! Midori, you need to be careful! Your fingers are already getting pink....I'm sorry. My body temperature is very hot and you can get burned from touching me. It doesn't look very bad yet. But you should probably run some cool water over it."

Phaezeriel |

Phaezeriel hops into the air and glides over to them, his face lighting in what would be a rather unnerving grin if they didn't know him as well as they do. ::Thanks, I sometimes have a hard time reading people. Is Lady Aananda doing better? I was filling in for her in here since she was in the infirmary.::

Jiminy, Prankster of the Future |

"Mom was in the infirmary? What happened? Is she okay?" Jiminy asks, alarmed.

Karish Conway |

"Shall we see the headmaster?"
"Indeed. Let's." With another nod to Rosa, she takes a moment to once again assure her weapons are both in place, then resumes guiding the old soldier through the halls toward Ryo's office, and Rosa as well if the construct chooses to accompany them.

Tryko'Sam |

"We have been hiding her. We don't know what to do. I thought you could help." She says crestfallen. he has a Friend too. I thought they could help me. "I'm sorry I bothered you then." She says sadly. "You should just go." She says while looking atthe dog in her brother's arms.
>> Wow... so it's not just the school peeps. Emotional roller coasters here. Huh. <<
As charming as he is and can, Tryko'Sam squats near the little girl and says, "Hey now-- just because we're not the same, doesn't mean we can't help or try to help, it's called compassion and concern. What did you want us to do? Talk to your parents? I know what it's like to be ...not treated as an equal or pushed away by family. I do want to help."
He gives Rena a concerned look, then back to the little girl and boy.
Since he's not a liar and isn't pretending otherwise, people with any measure of sense motive (or similar) would realize that what he just shared, is true.

Vare, the Summoner |

Vare grapples momentarily with his own guilt at once again hearing the mournful voice of the wolf. He listens to the sound of nature around him, and sighs, sitting down somewhat unceremoniously on the forest floor, looking out with something of a forlorn expression. He's not a moody teenager though, and so doesn't burst into tears or any other such dramatic feelings. He settles up against a tree, resolved to wait here until morning comes again, to see if Miss Anahita would return.
No need to actually return, unless you see fit Damiani.

there has been someone right there not four feat away for wuite some time

Vai Sunwake |

Vai had jumped slightly when Phaezeriel's mental voice had first come about, but when she realized the source, there was a gleeful squee. "Hi Phaeze!" she had said, and immediately stopped playing to go huge her demonic friend.
She listens as Phaeze tells them why he was here, and then James' reaction. Vai of course knew that the infirmary trip was Fei's fault just as much as the other thing, but she stays quiet on that for the moment. "Phaeze! It's been so long... okay... it's been a couple days. How are you? How's work on Chara's cure? What's teaching like?" a veritable battery of questions aimed the way of her quasit-ish friend, all with a smile on her face, the melancholy from before dispelled at the sight of her friend.

Midori Tsuyomi |

Midori hadn't even noticed her fingers turning pink... it wasn't painful... but the rest of her was still rosey from the blush. Maybe that was why. "Ano... no, it's fine. It doesn't hurt Ignace-chan. THank you for worrying about me though."
She does take her hands away from Ignace though, and they go up into the yukata's sleeves.
"You look very pretty, Ignace-chan." Midori says, now that the yukata was mostly on.

Salis of Bletherad |

A noise caught her attention and she looked over her shoulder and blushed. "I think the librarian disapproves of our choice of setting for this conversation....perhaps we can find somewhere with less er....audience....to talk...or not talk," she added with an impish grin.
"I would not be apposed continueing else where. If you would like to lead the way." He gestures to the hallway. "And but what do you mean or know talk?" He asks naively.

"We don't want to make her leave but I don't know where we can keep her if not at here. She can't stay here forever this is just a hole in a wall and I can't keep hiding this mark and my mom doesn't know I took her makeup and she's gonna be mad and I just don't know!" She works herself into tears by the end of her rapid fire statements.

>> Well, shit-- I've no idea what to do here, do they even have Social Services? Wow. Wild. Uh.. stay cool. <<
"Hey now.. it's okay-- my companion here, Rena, she's really smart and knows how to help-- or better yet, she's friends with a super powerful wizard who can figure this out, easy."
>> I hope... <<
He'll grin and attempt to reassure the little girl, cause crying little girls, no good!

Salis of Bletherad |

"Before were depart I need to return the books and maps we used. " Turned and started collecting the text he and the boys were using. "Please excuse me... I do not think we have met. I am Salis, the magical theory professor." He ajusts the books to be held in his offhand and offers the free one to Zix.
"This is Professor Reading. I am to pressume you are a professor here as well?" He asks.

Melody Waverider |

melody works alone in her room on some new songs.
her mind still wondering how to record and distribute her music.
I have a way to record and play back but how to distribute? how to allow others to access my songs.
as she sits there her brain going through numerous scenerios. trying to recall what she has learned so far.
then it dawns on her. the school has an announcement system and some sort of interface on the wall to locate places or people.
perhaps if I melded the two, without overriding either.
she puuls out her sonic device and scans the walls and looks for some means to access everything.
Melody ends up spending some time working to use the PZ system as a radio reciever
This could be done through out the school and my songs cold be broadcast or perhaps even using some of the Simmind capabilities some sort of interactive menu so people could choose what they wanted to hear.

"Please excuse our display and the mess we have left. Let me just get these all out of your way." He slides a few books closer to himself. Many of which are about the firebirds home. One however would stick you to a fellow scholar as having nothing to do with the Sun. Entitled karma sutra: the art of love. Salis was trying to discreetly add it to the stack of books.
