Dave stares at his hand and mumbles "I don't know" he looks fairly out of it.
"Alright, everyone calm down. Here, Miss Tanaka. Let me see it." Tyrrin's voice rang out across the room, commanding attention. She'd had enough of this spectacle. She stepped quickly over to the table, and cast Cure Light Wounds on the squirrel, healing any damage it might have done. "Now, Mr. De'Foul has apologized, and the damage mended. If you prefer Miss Tanaka, I can get a teacher here to mediate, but I think the problem has been dealt with sufficiently."
Seeing Dave stare at his hand, Tyrrin becomes concerned. "Are you alright, Mr. De'Foul? Not under the effects of a compulsion or other enchantment?" Not trusting David to answer either way, Tyrrin will cast detect magic and examine the magical auras just to be sure.
Sun tries to grab at the bag from Lang

that's the simple way, she can do this in other ways that are more complicated.

Dave is not under any compulsions though there are several other spells on him, he even has an aura that extends past him , an illusion covering him, his eyes glow brightly and have arcane sight, detect psionics, true seeing, detect poison, his robe is very magic, and he has a magic ring, but no compulsions appear to be on him.
"Well, I do! Want a teacher I mean! Just everybody back off and somebody go get Miss Jones RIGHT NOW," she said, almost in tears.

"That was an empty threat but ok!" Tybalt forces the water to grab the bag and pushes under the lake to the deepest layer of mud at the bottom. "Maybe it'll melt down there hope it wont effect the wildlife."
Dave flinches at Adon and Kitty's statements but says nothing.
"Ok guys it's over, water under the bridge and all that. The squirrel is fine now so there's no need to start getting to hard on anyone. I'm sure he has realized that what he did wasn't right." Looking to Dave. "Right?"

Roel's words cause Raelle to go pale. She puts a hand over her mouth to stifle a sob. This can't be happening. There has to be some sort of mistake.

"well, Dave caught squirrel stealing his food, and then threatened it and singed it a little to keep the others at bay. everyone, including myself, reacted much more then necessarily, seeing it as a much more real threat then it was, and it seems that Dave hardly even knew what he was doing. oh, and i accidentally melted part of his foot."

Ginni takes deep breaths trying to calm her hunger.
"Well...I'm an only child. I have a new favorite color every day. And I knit in my spare time," she said, focusing on small things like they taught in meditation class.
"Saki was stealing food....annoying but normal for the squirrels. I'll...I'll make sure they know not to do it anymore. Dave caught him and ....threatened him with fire....he singed him. He says he didn't mean to, but....He hurt Saki!"
Dave steps forward and says "it started with those squirrels steeling everybodys food, apparently most people didn't even notice, and really they didn't take much, mostly rolls, but I saw them and decided to grab one, I held him in such a way that he wouldn't be hurt but that he couldn't bite or scratch me either, um.. Kitty I think her name is..." he looks at her then looks back to miss Jones "asked for him, back, and I was about to do so when...I don't know I felt this urge to.. to.. disuade them from doing it again, and I threatened to smoke them if I were to catch them again... even then i didn't plan on carrying it out, but the squirll tried to escape and without even meaning to I...I don't know punish is the word that calls out to me for it... him and my fire responded to do so... "
