The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Vai looks embarrassed that she was misunderstood. "Er.. no, I never learned any instrument. But sometimes I would go listen to the minstrels play. The harp was always my favourite. I wanted to learn, but we couldn't afford to buy a real harp."

Image

"Well, then I've got great news for you. The harp is a stand-by for chamber music. Which means I do know how to play. I can give you lessons if you want. There are instruments you can borrow in the music room. Or we can just buy one for you...although honestly you're better off getting the carpentry club to make one. Their woodworking skill is unbelievable. You should see what they can do with guitars and violins. I'm sure they could make a harp."

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

"R.. really?" This day just kept getting better and better for Vai. Everything seemed to be falling into place. Her love for her sisters only grew the more time they spent together. "You'd do that? It can't be easy to learn, or to teach."

"Hey, Fei. Good morning!" Ryuzo says with a bow, holding the door for him as well.

"Good.....morning" the young monk replies, bowing quickly to the two of them as he looks between them and the elf storming down the hall. He pokes his head through the proffered open door and looks around the Cafeteria quickly.

"Has...there been another altercation in the Cafeteria that I am unaware of?" he asks cautiously.

"We just got here ourselves, so I have no idea. Maybe ask around?"

"Of course I would! Music is the thing I love most. Actually I'm thinking about teaching music as a career after I graduate. I don't know. I'm not really sure yet. But if you don't mind being my guinea pig, I don't mind teaching you how to play the harp," she said, giving Vai a quick hug.

"There are no overturned tables or any other signs of distress," Fei replies with a shake of his head. "And she did not appear to be injured. Perhaps something on the menu was...objectionable to her."

Ryuzo laughs
"That's what I said!"

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

"I don't mind being your guinea pig Fi." Vai says, hugging her sister back. "I mean, I get to learn to play the harp!" Vai was virtually gleeful, unable to contain her excitement. "When can we start?"

Fieri laughed. "Enthusiasm! That's what I like to see. We can start tomorrow if you want. Morning or afternoon, your choice."

Fei sighs.

"I should make sure all is well, regardless. She is a new student here along with her brother, and may need assistance with acclimating..."

[Grrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmbbbbbble]

[Blink, blink] (o.O)

"Perhaps I should eat first," he concedes quietly. (=^~^=)

He bows to the two of them once more. "I will take up no more of your time. May your day be peaceful," he says with a small smile as he heads to the line to see if there are any fresh muffins left.

"Well, I guess that depends how late the talent show goes tonight. I have to stay for at least your and Sadie's performances." Vai was almost bouncing with joy.

"Alrighty. Same to you Fei."

"Now let's see about that French Toast..." he says to Nala

Wyrd smiles at the sad seeming elf, then beckons him closer.

Ehos, come sit here beside me, I will show you something beautiful.

"Am I missing something?" Ephebe asks, confused.

Jim goes to the restricted lab, gathering his tools. I know it's surprising, but I've been working too much. I need to clear my head. I'll be back in an hour or two. He has his homunculi jump inside, and leaves, unless interrupted.

Jim then goes to his room, laying down on the bed, and resetting himself. He sits for about an hour, unless interrupted, refreshed and rearing to go.

Taron Sunwake wrote:

Though Vai never really spoke to Taron and so doesn't know much about him, I was counting him in that. Flipping the world inside-out hasn't really negatively affected ANYTHING from Vai's perspective. She's a little sad that Tamrin has to be out chasing Taron around, but that's about it. So yes, you were counted.

Vai was determined not to blush. It wasn't embarrassing. It wasn't ANYTHING, really. Yet. Vai's attempt to keep the colour from her cheeks fails only slightly, "Sadie, do you know her? ... she told me that she liked me last night. Like like. I... I didn't say no, anyway." Vai tries to act casual about it, but she's focusing too much on the clothing in front of her to be natural.

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

Ephebe raised her eyebrows and then grinned.

"So....you're trying to decide if you like like her too? I don't know Sadie that well, but I'm pretty sure you're a good judge of character so if you didn't say no then she's probably a pretty special person."

Female Elf Gestalt Sorcerer (Starsoul) 16/Oracle (Heavens) 16

Tyrrin made her way outside, wanting an outlet for her anger. Why was everyone else so BLIND! Tyrrin made her way to a field outside, where she stood and glared at the crystal clear blue sky as if it were the offender. Deciding to make the sky itself an outlet, Tyrrin begins to 'paint' the sky, creating dark, ominous clouds. She spread the clouds out to cover the whole of the sky that she could see, making the beautiful day instantly overcast. She then caused the sky to crackle with lightning by drawing a finger over a section of sky. The bolt shot between the clouds, and thunder boomed. A light drizzle starts, and Tyrrin stands in it, the rain seemingly washing away her anger.

Male Elf Bard 14/Sorcerer (Maestro) 14

Ehos moves as directed by Wyrd, sitting next to him. He could use some beauty right now, as he couldn't create his own.

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

Vai's continued fight against the blush was a rather hopeless one, and more colour crept into her cheeks. "It's just confusing! I... I don't think she's... cute*, the way that boys are. But she's nice and... safe? I guess? I don't know. It's confusing!"

*It's clear Vai didn't mean cute here, but she didn't wanna say sexy or hot. :P

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

Ephebe got up and gave her a hug. "Vai, relax. It's okay. Take things at your own pace. Just follow your heart on this one. Take some time and see if your feelings go in that direction. If they don't, they don't."

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

"You know they allow everyone to practice there abilities freely... That is if they don't interfere with other students. Like turning a nice bright day into a cloudy day full of rain. Now I for one appreciate the lessened glare of the sun. Others like my girlfriend here like the heat and the light. So if you'd be so kind as to stop with the theatrics..." Asch says when Tyrrin causes the rain and clouds. He finishes with a wicked grin revealing his fangs showing its not so much a suggestion as a demand.

Female Elf Gestalt Sorcerer (Starsoul) 16/Oracle (Heavens) 16

"If you think threats will get you any ground with me, you are sorely mistaken." Tyrrin was wondering what kind of monster this new person was, to have fangs such as he did. "However, I am not actively controlling the weather now, and yet it rains. So now, if I were to take away the rain, I could be distrupting people enjoying it. You see my dilemma." Tyrrin was much more calm now, using logic. Arguing. Her mother had taught her to never back down from a challenge as clear as this, or you risked showing weakness. But that didn't mean you had to be demeaning. Indeed, Tyrrin had used this boy's own arguement against him.

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

Vai was hugging Ephebe was the clap of thunder reached the shop, and she almost jumped. "I will try to follow my heart, thank you Ephebe. What was that? Surely it can't be raining! The sky was clear!"

Image

Fieri looked out the window. "Oh, it's definitely raining. My guess is one of the nature magic students decided to take a try at playing with the weather. Looks like it's just a gentle rain though not a bad storm. It'll probably pass in a few minutes."

"I hope."

She shrugged and pulled out a gold silk mini-dress that left very little to the imagination from the clothes rack.

"Guess this means we have more time to shop."

Male Half-Elf

"Well, as much as I've enjoyed talking to you and getting my life threatened if I do something I'd never intentionally anyway, I've got to go see my a teacher. Depending how that turns out, I may or may not be able to get you your familiar soon." He tells Obaa-sama. "If I may be excused?" He asks courteously.

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

"Ummm... Vai was looking worriedly at the dress Fi had pulled out. It was so TINY. No way it could be considered decent.

Vai wondered briefly if she would look good in it before banishing those thoughts.

"It's great, isn't it?" Fieri said enthusiastically. "I could even wear this one off stage."

"You want me to find something like this for you? A little longer I think. You would NOT be comfortable in a micro mini skirt. Trust me. But maybe a more fitted dress..."

"Sorry, if I overstepped, but you're looking at it like a little kid looks at candy."

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

"No, it's okay, you're right. That's too short for me but it is very..." The word felt strange on Vai's tongue, it didn't feel like something she would say. "sexy. All the clothes we picked out for me are cute or pretty. Maybe... maybe I should get something like that if I'm going to ask Sadie to the after-party. I don't want to give the wrong idea though..."

"Thank you ma'am. Kitty, I'm sorry I'm leaving you alone to face all their questions about you that you may or may not want to answer. Take them to the restaurant I took you to if you'll think that will distract them." He gives her a really quick kiss on the cheek and takes off, leaving Saffire with her as he goes off in search of Professor Sunwake.

He'll check all of the usual places and then start asking where she might be.

Vakkler leaves the cafeteria. The kobold wanders the hallways, and eventually comes near the exit. He looks outside. "Ah. Pity it's not a proper downpour."

"How about this...you let me pick out something for you to try on and you can see how you feel about it. I don't think Sadie will take it the wrong way. And you don't have to decide until you see it on, okay?"

Without waiting for an answer, Fieri went rummaging through the clothing racks throughout the store until she came back with a blue oriental print silk dress which she handed to Vai.

"Okay, this is all slinky like the one I was looking at, but it has a high neckline and should come down to mid-calf. Let's see how it looks," she said with an encouraging smile.

The students in the magic creation lab told Michael to go and check the restricted lab and give him directions on how to get there.

Male Half-Elf

Starting to feel a bit more than nervous, Michael goes to the restricted lab and knocks a few times and begins shifting on his feet guiltily as he waits.

Aananda came to the door and looked confused when she saw Michael there.

"Is something wrong Michael?"

Male Half-Elf

"Yeah... Um, you remember how Albin got attacked by the slurks? Here." He says as he hands over a tiny spray bottle. "The earthquakes and Professor Relcav's injuries during the fiendish invasion were my fault too. The rocks falling on Sadie and her half-ogres friends was also my fault. I don't know what came over me, but I am sorry and I'll accept whatever punishment you think is fine."

Throughout all of that, Michael doesn't make eye contact, preferring to stare at the floor.

"Ummm....okay. I am really confused right now. I think this merits a much longer conversation. I think we should go to my office. The lab isn't really set up for conferences. Follow me."

Wyrd listens for a moment, then whistles in an exact copy of one of the bird songs that Ehos can hear. After a moment a small and bright red songbird flutters down, perches on Wyrd's hand and looks at him with its head cocked to one side. Wyrd reaches down carefully and takes hold of the Ehos' wrist, turning his hand palm up. Wyrd puts a small amount of birdseed into Ehos' palm and then holds his hand with the bird close to Ehos's hand. The bird looks from the seeds to Wyrd and back. After a moment, it hops from Wyrd's hand to Ehos' and pecks at the birdseed. It stops a few times and sings before continuing to eat the seeds.

The dress.

Vai came out of the dressing room looking... well, sexy. The dress clings to her in all the right places, making her look extremely curvy. The deep blue colour of the dress matches - either by luck or by Fieri's choice - what colour Vai's scales would be. The gold trim and pattern are very close to the colour of Vai's hair. Vai is wearing a shy smile, obviously happy with the dress. "I think you managed to convince me Fi."

M Advanced Axiomite Gestalt 16 Inquisiter/Swashbuckler(ToS)

"Ahh, the Crystal City. So quiet after the school. Yet, it seemes to be lacking something now. Perhaps I just need to walk its streets after I make my report. Can't take too long though, have to be back for the talent show after all."

Velvarmisan walks up the steps of the Grand Monolith and into the meeting chamber of the Gestalt Mind. Seated with him were the five other ambassaders sent to Agartha that still remained. Each centers themself and enters into contact with the Gestalt Mind.

Entering into the Mind was a different experience each time. This time the images were of a desert on a world long lost. The grand expanse of sand and sky culminated upon an oasis of the clearest blue water. The members of the Mind sat or stood as thier natures dictated. From the air the scene would have appeared as a series of interlocking pieces forming a picture of the universe that seems to change as you look at it.

After making his report Valvarmisan listens carefully to the reports of what happened to the two that were lost and of whom would replace them.
Debate at the speed of thought is still time consuming, and the meeting of the Mind takes about two hours. After breaking contact Valvarmisan feels renewed and decides to walk to the market before returning to Avalon.

When he plasneshifts back he starts toward the main entrance and gets hit with a lightning stike.

Aananda ushers Michael into her office and indicates that he should sit. She sits down behind the desk.
