Solivala |
Still reading his book with his orbs back in orbit Solivala speaks.
"I could send in scouts or I could simply destroy the temple if your in a hurry. That way all we would have to do is sift thru the rubble. I will go along with any course of action you prefer."
He seems unconcerned with anything.
Ephebe |
"We're not going to destroy the temple!" she exclaims, shocked. "They're an order dedicated to fighting undead. Generally speaking, that's a good thing. We wouldn't be going against them at all if Amada's life weren't at stake."
Krays |
"I don't suppose they'd just give it to us?"
Ephebe |
"I don't suppose they'd just give it to us?"
"Well, I guess we could ask, but I'm guessing it's not something they'd just loan out. Since they're supposed to be keeping it out of the hands of powerful vampires and all."

There are several hidden entrances near the base of the pyramid, though all of them are only able to be opened from the inside. The only other entrance is to climb all the way to the top of the pyramid.
From the top of the pyramid there is an open portico surrounding the temple on all sides. There is a pair of large golden doors on each face of the temple. Inside the doors is a large open space made entirely of white marble with a golden altar in the center. There is no other sign of there being any more to the temple, but there is a mechanism that allows the altar to slide to the side revealing stairs that lead down into the temple proper. While no one is in the upper temple, there are many people within the pyramid.
Coming up from the tunnels at the base there is a winding maze of corridors leading into the center of the temple. The stairs coming down from the upper temple also lead to the center of the pyramid. Inside the center of the pyramid there are many rooms, teeming with people. They look quite militant overall. In fact, there is not a single one of them not carrying weapons. One room is more heavily guarded than the others. Within that room there is a glass case holding a glowing golden torq. Your best guess is that this is the artifact that you were sent to retrieve, the infamous Heart of Sunlight.
Solivala |
"Seems we will be up against a small army. I could summon some golems to aid us. If you wish to avoid battle then perhaps some way of bypassing their defenses, or a way to incapacitate them on a large scale. It is dependent on how you wish to move forward."
Krays |
"Wow...if I had enough time I could swarm the place with wraiths or spectres...but that would take a few days..."

"You don;t suppose they'd let is in to take a tour? I mean we are students afterall..."

"The idea does have merit. We even have a professor with us so it looks like a legitamate field trip..."
Ephebe |
"Would they be tolerant of a dhampir with in their temple, adding to the fact that he may be effected by any defenses they may have in place."
"I don't think he'll trip the defenses. Isn't that why his dad wanted him for this job? But you make a good point....Perhaps we can disguise Asch somehow?"
Taron Sunwake |
"Honestly, James, you are being totally impossible. I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I was going out with Perrin, and that I got your brother to run interference so that you wouldn't do anything horrible like you usually do. But can't you at least try to see things from my point of view?"
I'm surprised he has taken this literally, turned into a bird, and flown up high.

Shut up, Taron! I'm not talking to you either. *grumble*
Ephebe |
"I don't show up as dead to any magical senses....though by look I seem undead enough, I've lost count of how many 'holy' men have tried for my head. And especially with my new arm I definitely don't look human."
"Right. Well, if that's what they're screening for we're screwed. But if we could at least make you look human...I'm afraid I don't have any way of accomplishing it. we might have to go the sneaking in route after all."

Fine by me. I've got something to do anyway.
Moments after Jiminy is told he's impossible, a voice announces over the intercom that his theme is about to be played.
Jiminy, Prankster of the Future |
The normally unflappable Jiminy who'd been walking so fast that Fieri had been almost running stopped abruptly as the music started. He muttered something under his breath and punched a locker so hard he flattened it.
"Just leave me alone!" he yelled at an astonished Fieri before storming off.
Jiminy, Prankster of the Future |
"Yeah, well, maybe I don't care. Maybe I just want all of you to leave me alone for a while. I don't want to talk about it and I'm not going to apologize so just get lost," he growled.
Another practice dummy ended up as fine dust.
Dennis Buttercup |
"Okay, Dennis, what's wrong with Jiminy?" Dennis hears from behind him. "Enough emotions are surging from him through our link that I'm starting to wonder about taking another trip."
"Well, let's see. He punched a locker in, yelled at Fieri to leave him alone, and is currently demolishing the gym a piece at a time. What do you think is wrong with Jiminy?" Dennis said, rolling his eyes. "I'm not sure if you interfered in the hopes of setting this off, or you just didn't see it. But right now you're probably the only person who can talk to him without ending up in the infirmary."
Taron Sunwake |
Taron shakes his head.
"You're right of course, though I don't think I can be sure of staying out of the infirmary at this point. And no, I didn't see this happening. I only thought he was being.. well, being Jiminy." He frowns. "If I end up unconscious you should go get my mother, but not one moment before."
He vanishes and pops into the gym, watching as Jiminy reconstructs the practice dummies as quickly as he can destroy them.
::I take it you didn't like the song?:: He asks calmly.

Jiminy narrows his eyes and glares at Taron.
::I don't give a damn about your stupid song!:: he 'shouted' and took a swing at Taron.
Taron Sunwake |
::Better use your inside voice, little brother, unless you want every telepath in the school to hear you and figure out why you're punching innocent practice dummies into dust.:: Taron replies as he steps aside. ::Now, there is this wonderful bar in town that I went to when I was overreacting. The alcohol does nothing for us of course, but it's the principal of the thing. I'll buy.:: He offers as he dodges a few more punches. Jiminy didn't seem listening though, so Taron did something drastic(given the circumstances).
He stepped forward and hugged his little brother.
Jiminy, Prankster of the Future |
Jiminy stiffened in surprise as Taron gave him a hug. His emotions were all over the place.
"Why? Why did you have to help her? I mean, she must really like him or she wouldn't have lied to me about it..."
He shoved Taron away and then his shoulders slumped.
::Fine. We'll go to the bar. I can't deal with this.::
Taron Sunwake |
::I helped her because she asked me too, and neither of us knew you'd react like this. Neither of us knew.:: Taron thinks to Jiminy as he leads the way out of the gym(fixing the dummies as he passes) and the school, making sure no one bothers them as they walk.
"You should tell her." He says simply after they leave the school grounds.
Jiminy, Prankster of the Future |
"I don't know how to tell her. I didn't know either. But then when I found out about her date...it's like the whole world turned upside down and...What if she really likes him? I mean, I know Fieri. She knows how this whole imprinting thing works and she'd probably stay with me out of pity, but that's not what I want. I'd rather be miserable than that..."
"How did this happen and I never even saw it coming?"
Vakkler Relkav |
Vakkler hears shouting. He reaches the gym in time to see Taron repairing the last dummy. His eyes narrow. His bad mood struggles with his logical side. "Don't...damage any more of those," he growls.
Fortunately, while Vakkler isn't very perceptive of human emotions, he does have good ears--and he hears enough to back away slowly.
Unfortunately, he does that literally, and it looks a little condescending. The kobold historian turns and hurries off, fiddling with his crossbow. He goes past three students laughing and doesn't even pause to snap at them.
Taron Sunwake |
"The same way it happened to me and the same way it happened to Ephebe. Neither of us saw it coming either, and if you talk to Mom she'll probably tell you the same thing."
He stops talking for a while and they travel in silence, the city getting closer.
"Think about this: Would she put up with you if she didn't really like you?"
Jiminy, Prankster of the Future |
He snorted. "Of course she likes me, dimwit. She's my best friend. She's always been there. Ever since we first came to this school. But that doesn't mean she likes me that way. And the thought of her not being around...It hurts. Physically hurts."

Crikey I saw this coming. :P
Solivala |
Solivala takes a moment.
"Is anyone familiar with poisons and toxins. Their are a number of them that can incapacitate without harming the person. The temple seems to be mostly self contained, we could block the few exits and produce a gas form of the poison. I have access to all the needed items via my gate."
A guy leaves for a bit and a whole page has gone by. Let me know if this is too out their in terms of item access.
Krays |
"Actually a cloudkill in that enclosed space would do wonders...but they'd all be dead..."

I'm fine with it. After all, it's not like you can stop in the middle of a battle to brew up new alchemical creations. As something that happens in between encounters it's fine.
"Yeah, that's probably our best bet. If they're all unconscious we won't have to fight any of them. I'd rather not harm them if at all possible. They're not our enemies. Okay, Solivala, I think we should use that plan."
