Krays |

"Well whoever guessed 'protects him from sunlight' was spot on."
He looks at the vampire.
"What makes you think he will destroy all vampires?"

Solivala |

Solivala floats over to join the others.
"Seems my theory was correct, depending on the item I may be able to destroy it or barring that keep it from all others."
Solivala takes a moment.
"Granted I do not see why such an item is so sought after?"
He is showing his secret again, man someone save him from himself XD

Krays |

"Maybe Asch's dad misses strolls on the beach, or the sun on his skin...I can see why any vampire would be tempted by such an item. I just don't understand why it would be dangerous, unless it passes that safety onto his spawn as well...maybe I should ask my boss."

narrator |
"Well whoever guessed 'protects him from sunlight' was spot on."
He looks at the vampire.
"What makes you think he will destroy all vampires?"
"Because we are vulnerable during the day, you idiot! He'll use it to attack us when we are weakest....I can't believe I got captured by a bunch of stupid kids."

Ephebe |

Solivala floats over to join the others.

Solivala takes a moment.
"Granted I do not see why such an item is so sought after?"

"Er...can you study it first? We might be able to use that information to help my uncle...And we probably shouldn't destroy anything before the curse on Amada is lifted."

Solivala |

Solivala's orbs freeze in orbit, they form into hands and in a line smack the vampire followed by being poked in the eyes and punched in the shins. Once their attack is over they return to Solivala's orbit seeming content.
"I do not see the need to study it but very well. As for why he would seek to destroy his own kind. I would think he is simply arrogant or other vampires are weak and foolish. While this item would be an advantage it would also act as a lure, I doubt a vampire immune to daylight would be allowed to exist by a number of religions. You and those like you are most likely seen as enemies with no chance of surrender or servitude. I am surprised you have not been destroyed already. If such an advantage is enough to tip the scales of your survival."
Solivala takes a moment.
"It seems odd that they only sent one, unless he is acting alone."
He looks over at Krays.
"Could you find out who he is working for if he is at all. If they are aware of the item, why have they not attempted to take it themselves?"

Krays |

Krays wrote:"Because we are vulnerable during the day, you idiot! He'll use it to attack us when we are weakest....I can't believe I got captured by a bunch of stupid kids.""Well whoever guessed 'protects him from sunlight' was spot on."
He looks at the vampire.
"What makes you think he will destroy all vampires?"
Krays' eyes narrow
"...says the vampire dominated by a kobold. I can assure you, I am aware of what makes you tick and what hurts you more than you do. What I was questioning, is why he would bother to do so.""Could you find out who he is working for if he is at all. If they are aware of the item, why have they not attempted to take it themselves?"
"Answer him."

Ephebe |

Ephebe loaded Cure shells into her Caster. Her left arm changed into a claw and was surrounded by white fire.
"You're gonna want to keep some distance from me, Asch. I don't want to hurt you by mistake. I'm gonna deal with the victims, make sure they don't rise. Any vampire trying to touch me right now is in for a nasty surprise."

Krays |

Krays is immune to anything an undead can do...I'll make a will save just in case it's a spell and not a natural undead ability
Will Save:
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29

Krays |

Krays turns and as he does his clothing changes into the robe of service of the Champion of Death
"Your mistake...enjoy agony..."
Casts searing light
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18 Ranged touch
Damage 14d8 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 5, 8, 2, 8, 1, 4, 1, 5, 3, 5, 8) = 61

Asch Redgrave |

Asch glares at the vampire and finishes his own spell just as Krays spell starts.
"Demon's Baptism!" A blast of dark energy fires towards him mixing with Krays own spell.
Fire:3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5) = 16
Force10d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 1, 2, 4, 4, 1, 6, 6) = 29 Total 45
AoE 20ft line. Reflex half, Dc 21

Solivala |

Solivala points at the vampire, a thin green ray heading towards it.
Ranged Touch 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
Damage 34d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 5, 3, 6, 4, 1, 1, 4, 2, 6, 5, 1, 6, 4, 1, 1, 4, 2, 3, 1, 6, 4, 1, 3, 5, 1, 6, 2, 1, 3, 1, 1) = 107
Fort Save DC 31
Save Damage 5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 2, 1) = 14
No one can accuse him of holding back XD

narrator |
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
The combined might of Krays and Asch's attacks burn the vampire into dust before it even has a chance to react.
Solivala, if you want to save that disintegrate for the next foe, who is incidentally right behind you...
Fort save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Errr....well, it WAS right behind him...
Solivala readies his spell, but the foe in front is vanquished before he can let it loose. Instead he turns as he hears a faint sound behind him and disintegrates a vampire who had been trying to sneak up on them.

Solivala |

Solivala spies the new spawn, he cast a spell. A serpent of flame dives thru all five spawn.
15d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5, 4, 1, 5, 6, 2, 4, 2, 6, 3, 6, 5, 5) = 61
Reflex Save DC 30 for half
Oh yeah almost forgot, anyone wearing medium or heavy armor who gets hit by his spells take an extra 8 dmg.

Solivala |

Solivala watches for a moment.
"They are slow in that form, but I can not take them all if they split up. I will go after one"
He glides quickly thru the air to cut off one of the fleeing vampires.
Chance for vampire to talk, threaten, or do something ill advised. ;)

Krays |

Krays takes after another, firing off another searing light into it's cloud...
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33 Ranged touch
Damage:
14d8 ⇒ (6, 4, 7, 7, 1, 3, 2, 6, 3, 2, 2, 8, 2, 1) = 54

Asch Redgrave |

"Since you are already here why don't I bring some more or our cursed brethren to the party. Born into darkness, living in darkness. The six brothers in shadow. I command you, by your unholy oaths open the gates to this world and destroy my enemies. ABBADON's KISS!" He says and after the incantation what look like three tortured spirits come up from the ground and burst into flames against the vampires.
Ranged touch1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37Fire:10d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 3, 6, 4, 1, 6, 6, 5) = 39
Reflex half, Dc 20

narrator |
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Reflex save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Reflex save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
All three of the fog clouds pull away from their shadowy opponents and only take partial damage. The one that was hit by Krays searing light is looking more than a little bit ragged.

narrator |
Reflex save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Reflex save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Reflex save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
The fog cloud vampires are unable to dodge the sharp diamond shards that are shredding them and looking considerably worse for wear. The one that was hit with searing light falls down with a thus and coalesces back into solid form. It isn't actually dead yet, but it is currently unconscious. The others are looking much the worse for wear. Some of the damage heals over, but not as much as they'd like.

Solivala |

With a flick of his wrist he brings another spell to bear, this one in the form of acid.
15d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 1, 1, 1, 1, 6, 2, 1, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3) = 41
Reflex Save DC 30 for Half
Failed save damage next round 7d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 5, 2, 4, 5) = 31

Ephebe |

Seeing that the vampires were well in hand, she continued her hunt for victims, including the ones outside that Solivala had already taken care of. Each time she touched a body it incinerated into fine dust. When she was certain that she'd gotten everyone, she went back to the common room and found a piece of paper. She wrote something on it and used a knife to put it up on the wall.
This inn was attacked by undead. All of the undead have been dealt with. Missing friends or family members were unfortunately turned. I am sorry for your loss.
"Okay. Get your things. We're leaving. The last thing we need is to be dealing with an angry mob in the morning when they realize that we were the only ones in the inn to survive the attack and start blaming us for it."

Krays |

"Ok lets go...I wonder how big of a presence vampires have here. This is only a day away from the school..." he says the last bit with more than a little bit of concern in his voice...

Ephebe |

"Ok lets go...I wonder how big of a presence vampires have here. This is only a day away from the school..." he says the last bit with more than a little bit of concern in his voice...
"I don't know. It used to be that vampires were pretty much unheard of in Agartha outside of the underdark. They've been getting awfully bold lately."

Solivala |

"I would venture a guess that a clan or even a single vampire may have moved recently, their habit of creating other vampires could explain the increased number. If this vampire feels threatened by his enemy he may be attempting to increase his ranks for the coming battle. Again this is based on conjecture with incomplete data."

Krays |

"Hmmm...possible. Vampires usually go where the food is. Maybe they were rooted out somewhere else. Could be a combo of the two, also..."

Ephebe |

"Well, maybe when we get back to the school we can ask Professor Relkav. He'd probably know if there'd been any recent upheavals in the underdark. Normally Grandma would know too, but she's been a bit more focused on the surface in recent years."
"Ummm....where did Professor Aislin go?"

Ephebe |

As soon as everyone gets outside they find Aislin sitting legs crossed on the roof of the inn still asleep. "It's too early why are you all making so much noise?"
"So, I'm guessing you didn't hear the whole vampire attack? Okay, so ummm ....we're getting an extra early start today. And when we've driven a ways away from the potential angry mob then maybe we can stop for breakfast. Maybe. We'll explain in the car. Solivala can drive. He won't be troubled by sleep deprivation." She yawned. "I just want to go back to sleep."

narrator |
With the use of a few Heroes Feast shells that Ephebe had been saving for just such an occasion, and with Solivala driving during rest times they were able to make the rest of the journey without incident.
Before them stood an impressive structure. Steps rose high above the ground in a pyramid, and at the top of the pyramid stood a large gleaming temple surrounded by columns. Above the temple a golden disk in the shape of the sun was affixed to the roof, high enough for all to see.
