It's fine. Probably for the best that Dave wasn't interrupted right then. He wasn't exactly emotionally stable.

People post from time to time as they can. Interactions happen as they can. everyone in this game has different time limitation. If things don't work out at one point, chances are they will later on. There are plenty of opportunities, so it's all good.

Yea, except for that fact that you have in one fell stroke:
1) Freaked out your "girl" to the point that she already wants some space, after just one day
2) Have made two other girls definitely not want to be your friend
3) Probably caused others to reasses you. Perhaps those who saw you as a friend now see you as a possible dangerous loose cannon....that maybe needs to be sent into space?

It was in the middle of a bunch of posts I was reading while at work. I noticed there was a few I somehow missed.
I work at a local very big grocery store in Ct, and we have what could be a very big snow storm on its way tomorrow, so my store was a mad house. People think its the end of the world when snow or rain is on the way. I just must have some how skipped seeing it.
Dave's problems stem from 2 sources, 1 he doesn't have hardly any experience with anything resembling a peer, he doesn't know what's too far, what's ok to joke about, what's ok to threaten, etcetera.
and two, his linnorm heritage is awakening further/again/or-something (for the purpose of this let's say his powers have awakened in spurts, when the last one occurred he started having difficulty controlling his magic, mentally still him but sometimes had issues with things like meaning to cast burning hands and ending up casting a fireball or accidentally cursing someone who just slaps him on the back too hard, so he made his robe that in addition to strengths his magic, also focuses it, and after that happened he put it out of his mind and moved on to the next thing a while after that he experimented with a few spells impacting a target at once (the event that made him all diamond-y) and a year or so later after that he ends up here just in time for the rest of his blood (currently available to me) to awaken affecting his mind and body the most now (like giving him a draconian aura and linnorm instincts and his eyes changing things of that nature)
now that doesn't excuse his actions, heck he's beating himself up too over these events, but it does help to at least explain them
(can be edited if any of the DMs thinks it should be, or if anyone else thinks so and have a good enough reason for me to think so too)
and as to violence, at least on a conscious level David prefers not to kill or hurt people, especially permanent kinds of hurt, but he is a firm believer of deterrence theory, and that while voilence may be the last resort, (at least partially because if you get to that point and it isn't your last resort, you didn't use enough) he doesn't have as many 'resorts' that come before that as most people
Yeah, you can see where Dave has a lot of growing to do as a character. Which is great. Makes for awesome storytelling. Especially since he's still at that point where he could go good or bad and you don't know for sure how it'll turn out.
Mind you, that can be said about half the kids at Avalon. Left to their own devices any one of them might be the next big supervillain. :)
if everyone turns against Dave, especially if he learns about his thrall powers.... things could get messy, at that point after being shown what could have been and it being taken away, he'd probably snap and well.. not pretty (he'd almost certainly lose, as in I am having trouble thinking up hypothetical(s) in which he could win but that's not surprising in the least really)
he really could go either way, and even I don't know which way it'll go, that Lorax metaphor about the tree falling where it leans, he's like what happens when two trees are planted right next to each other and grow into each other. sorry, I over extend my metaphors sometimes
but remember its just might be the pacifist you need watch out for.
