You make your way around the spider and into the Northern tunnel after a little ways it broadens slightly and you see a smaller cavern that appears to have once served as a campsite or temporary lair. A torn bedroll lies next to the cold remains of a fire. A pile of bones, broken equipment, and rubble lies just past the campsite.

Aleziella Libuyaza |

"Looks like someone met their unfortunate end here, maybe by that spider? Poor soul. Let's hope we don't end a similar fate. Desna guide us." Aleziella studies the remains and looks for anything else interesting around the campsite, but she doesn't leave the side of her companions. "Let's not dwadle too much, unless someone spots something important, we have to get out of here and see what is happening up above."
As the group continues their exploration Aleziella keeps murmuring "Desna guide us through the darkness and into freedom" while touching herself, Xantrius and Kothar.
Perception with guidance: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Alexiella is going to keep casting guidance repeatedly on herself Xantrius and Kothar so we all are a bit more ready for combat (or other things that might happen). She'll still remain in her stance with her weapon drawn of course. The gamer in me HATES to leave unexplored paths behind us, but the character sadly doesn't prioritize exploring every hex.

Korak The Boisterous |

Looking at the branch off Korak thinks then looks and examines the broken equipment to see what's there.

![]() |

While the others search through the campsite, Xantrius stays on guard and keeps an eye out behind them in case whatever was in the spider decides to come out.
He is slightly startled as Aleziella unexpectedly touches him, but nods when he sees her purpose. "Thank you. The favor of the gods is always welcome, but especially in a time such as this."

Aleziella Libuyaza |

I posted an exact order already. Use the one in the Discussion thread. It's dual file with Aleziella and Xantrius in fron

Aleziella Libuyaza |

Nope Aleziella and Xantrius then Kothar and Xill then Avarashinal and Argus then Horgus and Tanya and finally Korak and Bakji.

JasonX |

7d20 ⇒ (13, 3, 7, 12, 12, 6, 6) = 59 1d20 ⇒ 19
As you approach the debris, several extremely large insects (you recognize them as giant cockroaches, there are four of them) come darting out to attack you.
Aleziella 24
Kothar 16
Korak 14 (+2)
Insects 14 (+1)
Bakji 10
Tanya 9
Xantrius 4
This is a simple combat so I am forgoing a map. The tunnel widens out here so you have some room to maneuver. Aleziella, Kothar, and Korak may each act (normal round), then the insects, then everyone else.

Aleziella Libuyaza |

Do we have room to move, as in is the tunel wider? How far away are they? You say simple combat, but in cramped spaces things are never simple for melee characters. Combat post following shortly.

Aleziella Libuyaza |

Aleziella thinks to herself, bet I can down one of them before they even can move. "Hostile insects, let's do this". She shouts out then rushes forward and stabs at the creatures.
Swift action initiate victory gambit, but without the buffs/rewards/rake. Move action to move up to them then standard action for Scything strike.
scything strike, it's an attack that you roll once then resolve it against two adjacent enemies, using luck bonus from gambit: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
crit confirm: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
damage target 1: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 5) + 5 = 11
Crit damage target 1: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
damage target 2: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 1) + 5 = 12
Crit damage target 2: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

JasonX |

On things like Scything strike, the crit confirm only applies to the initial target, the next target requires a separate confirm roll (this is actually still debatable, but that is how I am ruling it for now). In this case it is moot as your non-crit damage still drops it.
Aleziella moves forward and easily dispatches two of the roaches before they even attack.

Kothar Kreedan |

Kothar orders his dragon
ముందుకు తరలించు మరియు మీ డ్రాగన్లు ఐస్ వాటిని కవర్:
the silver dragon flies over head and releases a blast of frost from his mouth dc=17 breath attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
and right after Xill's torrent of cold Kothar moves up and attacks with his Glaive atack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Korak The Boisterous |

Korak moves around the party and stops just shy of adjacent one square away from it and whips the chain of his Kama at the frosted roach in an overhead swing. Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

JasonX |

Korak is actually able (I see your movement is 30, not 20) to get in a position to flank. With that extra advantage he is able to connect and kill one of the roaches.
1d2 ⇒ 2
You got the one that didn't make its reflex save
1d4 ⇒ 3
The last one left makes a lunge for Korak (5' step, so no AoOs).
att vs Korak: 1d20 ⇒ 1
And fails miserably. As everyone goes before it, you all smash it into paste....
A closer examination of the campsite reveals that the bones are just the remains of cooked rodents and such, no bigger or humanoid bones are there. A thorough search of the room turns up a torn bedroll, three candle stubs (each can burn for 30 minutes), a bent fishhook, 10 feet of badly frayed hemp rope, and a copper brooch depicting a bat perched on a mushroom— both of the bat’s eyes are tiny amethysts. This brooch is worth 300 gp.

Aleziella Libuyaza |

"Well, that went well. Let's hope we have as little problems dealing with the demons we face. Obviously someone left or dropped some valuables here, even if these aren't human bones. We should bring it along, if nothing else we can sell them so we can buy better gear to fight the demons later. Not sure we should pick up the other things though. It doesn't seem to be worth much." Aleziella says with a slight smile. She then prays "Desna, show me if there is any magic here" to detect magic. If there is none or the just the brooch is magical, she'll pick up the brooch.

Korak The Boisterous |

Korak looks up at Aleziellla. I never said anything about fighting demons. I want to get these guys to the surface, after that we'll see. I will fight anything we have to to do that though.

Tanya Taze |

Tanya had moved between the cripples and the bugs but didn't really need to do anything herself. She does take note of the symbol on the brooch though, and tries to recall anything she might have heard about it, particularly if it might be related to drow in some way.
1d20 ⇒ 1+7 for planes or arcana, otherwise just +3
While she ponders the image, she goes back to watching the ceiling and high walls.
"Well, Korak, given what city we fell from, it is only reasonable to expect any warriors are there to fight demons."

![]() |

"I understand if you do not wish to be on the front lines, master brewer. All we can ask is for everyone to serve as their abilities dictate. Guarding our charges from harm would be a great help." Xantrius comments just before his light winks out.
He takes advantage of this by stepping a few paces down the side tunnel to make sure there are no enemies waiting to ambush them before returning and bringing forth another light, this time on his sword.
Should he find something lying in wait, he backs up slowly to attempt to warn the group before engaging it.
Stealth: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (20) - 2 = 18

Korak The Boisterous |

Korak doesn't bother about the sudden loss of light being the kind to forget not all our as blessed as the dwarves. I said I'd get them up there and I will or I'll die trying. But after that, we'll just have to see.

JasonX |

Xantrius, when you look down the other tunnel it is apparent that it connects back to the cavern you started in.
1d20 ⇒ 5
However, a stone ledge juts out at a right angle on the south wall of this tunnel, fourteen feet off the ground. The leather strap of a backpack hangs from the edge of the ledge, while above, a narrow fissure yawns up into the dark.

Bakji the Vanguard |

Bakji had to move a bit to try and get a shot in when he heard that there were enemies about. He shook his head as he saw the roaches and saw that the others had taken care of it. When it came to looking around the room, he squatted over the body and looked at the brooch with curiosity.
Knowledge Religion,Planes: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Not sure if that's enough, it is for easy information but I don't know where that would range.
He stood back up slowly and looked around the room before getting back in his position taking up rear guard.

![]() |

"Hold, I have found something!" he calls out. He moves closer to get a better look at the fissure, trying to see if it is large enough for one of them to be able to climb up.

Korak The Boisterous |

I follow Xantrius down the hallway, and look around, What'd you find? Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 And you might wanna keep it down down here.

Korak The Boisterous |

When I see the pack I stop for a second. "I've got just the tool for this job." Korak heads back towards Mr. Grump Face/pack mule and rumages around in his pack before coming back with some rope and a grappling hook. I tie the hook on and toss it up to the ledge. Let me know if I need a check

Aleziella Libuyaza |

Aleziella looks worried at the ledge for a moment, she doesn't know how to get up there and the frayed rope might do more harm than good. When Korak presents his solution, she brightens up. "Great Korak! I would be loath to try to climb up there without a rope, though I wonder if maybe I could have jumped up. Well, now I won have to try."
Knowledge Local for the brooch, does it belong to someone in Kenabres?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Kothar Kreedan |

Kothar speaks to his dragon
[spoiler=
"అప్ వెళ్ళి వాటిని చుట్టూ త్వరిత వీక్షణ తిరిగి వచ్చి పడుతుంది మరియు మీరు చూసే నాకు చెప్పండి"]"Xill go up and take quick look around then come back and tell me what you see"[/spoiler]
The dragon nods and flies up Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 then flies back to Kothar's side

Aleziella Libuyaza |

What is the verdict on the grappling hook? I believe we are all waiting for that.

Kothar Kreedan |

Korak lol
Xill brings the pack to Kothar
"let's see what we have then"

Aleziella Libuyaza |

"Maybe She can fly up with a rope so the rest of us can climb up after? There seems to be no other way out of here but up. Avarashinal, Argus and Horgus, can you climb? A knotted rope would make it much easier to climb. Anyone have that?" Aleziella tries to organize things so they'll all be able to get out. She doesn't like to wait around doing nothing even if she realizes it's better if someone else fixes the rope.

Korak The Boisterous |

Korak blinks. We should make sure it goes all the way up first. And lass. Korak holes up the rope. We could just knot it ourselves.

JasonX |

The problems with PbP. This ledge is in the Southern tunnel that runs back to the cavern you started in. There is still a tunnel heading East. Also, the fissure above you is sealed.
Xill brings the backpack down. The pack itself is a masterwork backpack that contains 10 days of trail rations, a flint and steel, a set of caltrops, two flasks of oil, a bundle of 12 arrows, and two potions.

Aleziella Libuyaza |

This is the first mention of any tunnel east.
"Now that we got that down let's continue out of here. There is actually a tunnel there." Aleziella points.
As they walk she'll keep on praying to Desna to guide her, Xantrius and Kothar, that is casting guidance.

Tanya Taze |

"Let me se the potions please. I'll if can discern what they are." Tanya examines the potions with detect magic,
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Afterward she will resume her self determined role of highguard, floating her lights up high along the ceiling and upper walls as far around the group as the lights will reach. She also maintains detect magic down here in the tunnels.

![]() |

"This is quite a find. The gods must be looking out for us!" Xantrius states. "We should press on."
He strides back towards the eastern passage, pausing until everyone joins him.

Korak The Boisterous |

Korak finishes wrapping the rope around his waist and follows. Aye. it be fortuitous.

JasonX |

So, you continue to the East. After traveling the winding route about 1,900 feet (at a speed of 15 feet through the rough cavern passages, this takes about 25 minutes to navigate), your group reach the tunnel’s end at a junction. To the north, a 5-foot wide opening in the wall leads into a cave filled with soft but nasty-looking green light—the tunnel itself continues South beyond this toward darkness.

![]() |

As they travel along the tunnel, Xantrius moves a bit closer to Aleziella. "That was quite an impressive display of swordplay back there. Would you mind if I inquired as to where you trained?" he asks in a low voice.
