Backstory:
The Worldwound has been a plight upon the world going on almost a hundred years at present but there have always been those to take up the charge and going in Iomedae's crusade against the coming dark. Thousands have joined the battle and thousands have died, seemingly only to keep the tide of demons at bay. But there are some who even though they die, just won't stay away. This is one such story.
Bakji had lived during the time of the First Crusade and he joined in readily slay the demons and save the people surrounding the Worldwound in Iomedae's name. In that life he had been a paladin, sworn to take care of her enemies and he enjoyed it with zealous abandon. The battle was glorious and difficult and they saved many a town from the demonic horde, Sarkoris and Mendev to name a few. But as most heroes of that war, eventually he fell on the battlefield taken down by one of the Arch-Fiends who slipped through the wound.
His second life on the battlefield was during Third Crusade, he had awoken to his past life having lived a life of sin as a cutpurse in the Chelaxian nation. When he remembered the glory of his life before, he turned himself in to the church of Iomedae. He begged for them to let him redeem his current life by proudly serving once again in the crusade, they granted it as his name was found in the records of the dead of the First Crusade and they found that his desire was not false. He joined into the fray, daggers in hand slaying demons and using his smarts to torture information out of the demons. He became known for his aggressive but effective ways and was eventually caught by a group of demons. He had been marked for a most horrible death should he be found alive and that he was certainly given.
Bakji's soul just couldn't rest, something that often occurred with Samsarans. He awoke once more, a trapper in the woods. This life he had led so far in mostly a quiet and peaceful way, only taking on bears, wolves, deer, and the like and selling the meat and pelts. When he awoke, he knew this was not his calling for if the Worldwound still existed then he was to join it and see to it that it would be closed. He sought out the church once more and found that they were between crusades at present.
He begged to them to send out another crusade as the job was not yet done. But they asked him patience and given his capability with a bow and his zealous nature they requested he stay and learn to channel that force upon the demons. Thus he joined the ranks of the Inquisitors and learned their ways, melding them with his own and as soon as he was given leave he set off to join the crusade once again. He hoped this time perhaps he might finally help seal the wound forever.
