Vilya's insane laughter increases tenfold as she leaps onto a zombie's back, slashing and stabbing madly.
"AHHAHAHAHAHAHA! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!"
Attack (kukri): 16 + 2 = 18; damage: 1d4 + 2 = 6
Attack (short sword): 20, confirm: 12 + 2 = 14; damage: 2d6 + 2 = 11
Vilya runs up to the doorway and leaps past her party members, hugging a zombie in a spider-monkey clutch and ripping its spine from its body.
I'm going to have to figure out just what's going to happen to little miss craaazy now :P

Zombies: 10 [attacking]
The howling corpses attempt to press their way into the statue room, the sheer crush of their bodies making it difficult to hold them back
OK, Iz is positioned in the doorway, so one zombie is able to bullrush him. I am assuming the one he just wounded.
Oops
The zombies' advance startles the graceful elf, causing his blade to get caught up in his opponent's ribcage.
Iz's opposed str chk: 1d20+2=21
Iz manages to plant his body and resist the undead's onslaught. The zombie is pushed off balance and falls under the shuffling feet of its undead buddies. Iz's curved blade goes down on the floor with it. Now prone
The three zombies that can reach the party snarl and attack over their prostrate ally.
Iz: 1d20+2=10, 1d6+1=2, Jo: 1d20+2=10, 1d6+1=2, San: 1d20+2=9, 1d6+1=4
Once again the zombies come up snake eyes
NEW ROUND!!
Tobias Marshalsea |
Tobias sends another bolt of energy at the undead.
Disrupt Undead: 14, 3 damage
Sanvoros Draben |
Gore and rotted entrails splatter everywhere as San continues his determined hacking through the wall of clawing undead ...
greatsword (1d20+9=26) damage (2d6+7=14)
really wish I had Great Cleave right now!
Joleesa Morvais |
How sucky are your rolls?
My Rolls? They are the epitome of sucky! :(
Attack Zombie with Rapier. (1d20+7=13)
Damage from Rapier. (1d6+1=3)
Joleesa swings over "Wheezy"'s head once more, but the angle means that she only grazes the Zombie ahead of her.
"Wheezy" Bites Zombie. (1d20=5)
Too distracted by the sheer number of Zombies attacking the party, "Wheezy"'s Bite misses it's intended target. He screeches in frustration, the sound echoing in the confines of the hall.
Dungeon Monkey |
Ten still readies a cure on any wounded front line, this time he feels more optimistic that they can hold out.
How sucky are your rolls?
The zombies are doing badly, but as I had upped the threat level, their crappy rolls seem to be working out. I'm sure they'll get in a few good licks before they're all down..
Dungeon Monkey |
It's too late at night for me to be doing PbPs... I keep reading "bullrush" as "b~~##*#&."
Vilya/Shiny you have me at a dilemma. You had Vilya jump a zombie, which I considered going past the chokepoint. This could be very bad for her continued existance. Do you want to reconsider that action? If not, there is a good chance she'll be zombie chow soon

She's got a low wisdom score. It's your call.

If it looks like Vilya is going to be dragged away by the heaving mass, Ten Foot is going to wade in after her, battle-axe swinging. Let me know when/if you need any rolls.
"Oh well, who wants to live forever!"
Dungeon Monkey |
Quick question: do we have action points? I can never remember stuff like that.
Sure, I like Action Points. What's the rule? One per level? If you want to spend one to 'do over' I'll allow it. If you want to try and backflip your way out of trouble, you can use a point as well.
Ten Foot Twin Eater |
Vilya the Taker |
Cool, so six apiece. Vilya, you wanna retcon or take your chance with the rots out in the open?
She's going to take option C (or option A, as the case may be), and spend her next action getting back to the doorway.
Catapulting herself from the shoulders of her latest kill, she springs forward, towards the doorway, over the heads of her fellow adventurers. Taking care not to gouge herself with her still-drawn weapons, she lands hard somewhere near the doorway.
Spending 2 action points; Jump check: 1d20 + 2d6 + 1 = 10 + 6 + 1 = 17

Iz yanks his curved blade out of the prone zombie. He then cuts down yet another undead foe. The zombies surge and try to get through the entrance.
Since Iz lost his sword last turn and I forgot, I am going to decree he gets no AoO this time on the Bull Rush to account for him getting it out of the other zombie
IZ STR CHK: 1d20+2=17,Zombie STR CHK: 1d20+1=13

Actually, I had Iz draw his longsword (from his sheath) not pull out the curve blade. I suppose it doesn't matter a huge amount, since looks like the damage downed one anyway. And if my mage armor is active, then my AC is 16 and the zombies missed me (unless we're flat-footed?) Sorry to nit-pick.

Roll an AoO by all means San! You need to chop these guys down
GAH! I misread your Mage Armor (was looking at the FF entry by mistake.) Mea Culpa, no damage for you

Will do! I'll have to get it up tonight, though. No IC at work.

Iz lashes out as the zombies press closer, but is thrown a bit off-balance and slashes wide. attack of opportunity (1d20+8=10)
Next round
San briefly looks to his friend. "Watch your swing, Iz! Does us no good if you let your hatred get the better of you!" San takes his own advice, connecting solidly and cutting one of the things completely in half ...
greatsword (1d20+9=28) crit confirm (1d20+9=23)
damage and crit damage (2d6+7=17, 2d6+7=13)
Listening to his friend, Iz calms himself and it pays results.

Photoshop error. By the time I noticed it would have been a pain to change. Plus, zombies leak green stuff too. Yeah, the body count is more of a tally than anything else, so I just 'splat' one when you guys kill one ..

I just went with the thought that with the humidity and heat of the jungle, they were just a lot more rotten and had magic holding them together. When we destroy one, he turns more into pools of muck and bone than full, solid corpses piling up. That's how I justified it, anyway! :-)

That's actually a good way to think on it. The bodies, once free of necromantic power would liquefy fairly quick, since even recent bodies putrefy rapidly in this environment. Speaking of which, can you imagine the smell this place must have? Wheww..
Sanvoros Draben |
Because there are so many of em Seven will continue singing to buff, if anyone needs healing speak up, also once we kill a few more I may switch to disrupt undead...
Little metagaming - I don't know how much damage Iz had taken up until now (7 pts last round - if he was at full hp he's only down to 26); DM may have to help with that. San actually took a good shot back against the petrified skeletons and is at 19 of 30; I'm not worried (yet) but a clw if he does take a another hit might come in handy.
