Wylka Forth
|
Seriously hurt, Wylka takes a step back before retreating further. He then uses his last Channel, hoping to heal the wounds of everyone including himself.
5'step, then moves to a safe distance, using Channel Energy on everyone.
Channel Positive Energy (Healing All): 1d6 ⇒ 1
Ah.. Every Channel Energy this battle was rolled a 1 except 2. UGH!!!

The monstrosity advances on Wilka, reaching for the cleric with bloody claws. Blood spray spatters the wall behind as new wounds are opened. Lem desperately feints and weaves, risking danger himself as he produces a scroll from his belt pouch.
Claw on Wilka: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Claw on Wilka: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage on Wilka: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Lem Aid Another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
AoO on Lem: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
18 Daereon (10 Damage, Unconscious)*
9 Lem
8 Belgrim (4 Damage)*
7 Creature (11 Damage)
4 Dalirio (19 Damage, Unconscious)
2 Wilka (12 Damage, Staggered)*
I feel like the PbP system here really hates players.

We get really poor rolls of the dice

[[[oc] How beat up does the guy look? [/ooc]
Wylka Forth
|
Knowing he can't take another hit and the monster is too close for him to use his glaive, he throws a gauntlet punch at the monster with all of the strength he has left.
Gauntlet: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17; Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
I feel some characters have more luck than others. The rolls for Wylka are mostly horrible, but I have a Rogue that just recently made Level 2 and I rolled many natural 20s with him.

Wilka's gauntlet connects solidly, but is unable to damage the monstrous creature. His stamina taxed too far, the cleric collapses against the wall. Turning towards Belgrim, a raspy laugh echos forth. "Next..." it drawls, advancing on the dwarf with a flurry of claws. As it savages the dwarf further, Lem moves to aid the fallen, taking a nasty gash from a backhanded swipe. "Please wake up, please wake up!" The verbal components seem a little panicked as Daereon's wounds close, bringing the half-elf back to the world. "I hope you have magic left! I'll hold it off as long as I can!"
Claw on Belgrim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Claw on Belgrim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Damage on Belgrim: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
AoO on Lem: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage on Lem: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
CLW on Daereon: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
18 Daereon (4 Damage, Prone)*
9 Lem (6 Damage)
8 Belgrim (7 Damage)*
7 Creature (11 Damage)
4 Dalirio (19 Damage, Unconscious)
2 Wilka (13 Damage, Unconscious, Bleeding)*
Should have checked his pockets sooner. Wilka needs a stabilization roll, and everyone else is up.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 232d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 202d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 192d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 = 6

Ready to get this done, lol

The sorcerer gets up and throws a vial of holy water at the creature.
1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 1 = 17
2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
Daereon Phoenixstar

The sorcerer will call divine fire down upon the cleric
1d4 ⇒ 3
Daereon Phoenixstar

Does that get the cleric up?
Daereon Phoenixstar

I would hope so, this undead creature was rough says the sorcerer. I am glad that I came prepared with holy water

Is there anything else of value here?

The Pathfinders can see stacks of crates and barrels, a number of which have been marked with red X's by a wide brush. Further examination would be needed to determine the contents. From the other side of the room, where three doors stand, comes a tentative knocking. "Hello? Are you here to save us?" comes a voice through one of the high windows.
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
We are! exclaims the sorcerer. Where are you?
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
Let's see if we can free these people, Lem says the sorcerer. Will you do us the pleasure of opening the doors?
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
Are we done?
| Grandmaster TOZ |
The keys do match the locks on the doors, opening to smaller cells packed with people. The captives hesitantly step out, offering a multitude of thanks to their rescuers. "Without you, that madman would have sold us off to those dark-skinned creatures like the others. Don't know where they came from, but they had great big gray eyes like I'd never seen!" one of the group recalls.
Among them, beaten and bruised but still recognizable, is Cestis the missing Pathfinder. "I'm glad someone came for me. I put up more resistance than they liked, and these are what I earned for the trouble." he explains, gesturing to the bruises.
Returning to the lodge, Venture Captain Themis congratulates you all for your work. In the coming days, no further kidnappings are reported as Cassomir returns to normal.
Chronicles will be out in the next few days. Thank you all for playing!
