Game Master Helikon

In the ruins of a fallen empire built on the power of sin lies the key to awakening a great evil from a time long gone. The Pathfinder Society isn't the only organization seeking this potent artifact, however, and the result of failure could mean disaster for the whole of Varisia and beyond.

And then check the map: I placed Rogar where I did because I wanted to reduce the chance of being hit by something I was quite certain that was coming his way. I didn't tell you there was a wall, the map did (and does right now because I did not move Rogar from there yet). To sum it up: (1) Rogar did not open the door, (2)Warpac did. (3)Rogar was "closely behind" Warpac and here I admit my wording could have been better because it should have been "closely on the side". (4)Rogar was under total cover due to wall. (5)Somehow Rogar was targetted and hit by a spell anyway.

The door moves inside the wall. IF you open it, then you are inside. Otherwise you can´t open it.

I think Helikon has the wrong perception of things.

I don't see that the opponents have done anything since casting the fog spell after which Warpac moved. Is it his init again anyway?

I think what Helikon is saying is that for Rogar to have opened the sliding door he would have had to lean into it and pushed it for a second or two, exposing himself before leaning back behind the wall. Perhaps the spellcaster had a prepared action to grease the person that opened the door and caught him with his torso hanging out there for a second or two.

Helikon, I'm not sure, maybe we're talking about different things

You have written: "The door moves inside the wall. IF you open it, then you are inside. Otherwise you can't open it." Do you want to say when someone opens the door that this person is automatically in the room he wants to enter. I do not know how it is with you, but when I open the sliding door I have to make a few steps to enter the room.

The same thing is with Regar.

But he stands behind the left wall. So it turns out there is no chance he was in the room with the enemy.

What I say is that in the moment where he opened the door he was in clear line of sight for someone who KNEW you were comming and was ready to target you.
Jing manages to dispel the grease.
If everyone acted, you just hear casting inside the fog.

Barm said it better than I could but let me reiterate the point, for my mental peace if for nothing else. Rogar did NOT open the door. As explained before, Warpac did (I put the quotes in one of my previous posts and you can easily check this out by going back 1 page). Rogar stood near Warpac and behind the wall, so, even if the wizard knew we were coming and was ready to cast a spell on us the moment we opened the door he should not have targetted Rogar because he could not see him and the spell could not hit him even if he could. That said I want to try to keep this game going, if possible, but I'd like to ask the GM to make combat sequence and events clearer and better defined. Barm opened a door and he got almost one shotted by a charge with no initiative roll. Then a shadow come out of nowhere to help the deadknight. We were confiormed the shadow was not summoned and came from another room. We got no chance to detect it (and besides if it was trying to use stealth it should have moved at half speed). In this last room, door "misunderstanding" aside, we had jing try to determine the nature of the 2 spells being cast (he used spellcraft and rolled a 15 and a 34 IIRC). Knowing the nature of the second spell is vital for our strategy because depending on it we may approach things differently. Let's say the wizard cast some venomous cloud he and his minions are immune to. Entering inside could not be the wisest of choices and we might choose to fight from range. Yet the spell being used could be obscuring mist, making the ranged approach harder, or something else entirely. I am a GM myself and I know that keeping track of everything happening can be a pain, but we need answers in order to formulate a decent plan of action, so please try to give us better defined situations.

With a nod and a whisper of "Thanks" to Jing for his help dispelling the enemy's magic, Rogar enters the room with the wizard but decides to keep in line with the rest of his companion instead of taking the lead. For the moment he sheates his sword and takes out his longbow, figuring out taking care of the wizard at range could be more effective than trying to hack him to pieces with his greatsword...

Let's try to recap. Assuming that the spell took effect cause Rogar failed his check and Jing dispelled it Rogar should still have his greatsword in hand. He moves at 40'' inside the room with the enemies and sheates his greatsword taking out his longbow instead.

At the start of Vybus turn the fog cloud is dispelled.

Thanks to haste I can charge the tiger back next round, as long as the charge lane is free, but depending from the wizard positioning I could step forward and attack him 3 times. Btw, Jing has Protection From evil. Shouldn't he be immune to the summon's attacks?

Protection from Evil:
This spell wards a creature from attacks by evil creatures, from mental control, and from summoned creatures. It creates a magical barrier around the subject at a distance of 1 foot. The barrier moves with the subject and has three major effects.

First, the subject gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks made or effects created by evil creatures.

Second, the subject immediately receives another saving throw (if one was allowed to begin with) against any spells or effects that possess or exercise mental control over the creature (including enchantment [charm] effects and enchantment [compulsion] effects, such as charm person, command, and dominate person). This saving throw is made with a +2 morale bonus, using the same DC as the original effect. If successful, such effects are suppressed for the duration of this spell. The effects resume when the duration of this spell expires. While under the effects of this spell, the target is immune to any new attempts to possess or exercise mental control over the target. This spell does not expel a controlling life force (such as a ghost or spellcaster using magic jar), but it does prevent them from controlling the target. This second effect only functions against spells and effects created by evil creatures or objects, subject to GM discretion.

Third, the spell prevents bodily contact by evil summoned creatures. This causes the natural weapon attacks of such creatures to fail and the creatures to recoil if such attacks require touching the warded creature. Summoned creatures that are not evil are immune to this effect. The protection against contact by summoned creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature. Spell Resistance can allow a creature to overcome this protection and touch the warded creature.

Mutahir steps up, knowing he won't be able to reach jing in time and figures the best thing to do is to try and take out the caster as fast as possible.

Blinded the one Warpac pushes can´t do a thing and is pushed back. Rogar manages to kill one cultist.

Remember that the others in his path get an AoO. Assuming 10' of pushing which seems likely, that should mean like 4 AoOs.

Under the combined assault of warpac and mutahir the other cultist dies.
Only the wizard is alive

When I see the mage casting Enervation at me I immediate action cast Emergency Force Sphere (spells cannot pass through as per Wall of Force). So it automatically misses. And I'm now inside a bubble.

Vybus, next time please add that somewhere to things I want to do like Mutahir.
Second, it is your turn, what does you and Jing do?

Ah okay, sorry. I'm still getting used to stuff like that in PbP.

I cast Dimension Door and teleport back behind that statue. Turn done.

Jing activates Maker's Call and switches places with Tiny...

Maker’s Call (Su): At 6th level, as a standard action, a summoner can call his eidolon to his side. This functions as dimension door, using the summoner’s caster level. When used, the eidolon appears adjacent to the summoner (or as close as possible if all adjacent spaces are occupied). If the eidolon is out of range, the ability is wasted. The summoner can use this ability once per day at 6th level, plus one additional time per day for every four levels beyond 6th.

I think Tiny already went this turn, correct?

Does not matter. Jing it does not make you change position, it just calls the eidolon to your side!
As Vybus dimension doors to the statue you feel targeted by a spell. He quickly activates another emergency force sphere and the spell does not effect him.
Still a voice is heard.

Ancient Thassalonian:
"" Prostrate yourself and mark your flesh in honor of the Lady of Runes. Your service will be rewarded."

Jing acitves Maker´s call. But being staggered this strains him badly and he falls unconcious.
Tiny is just for one moment next to his masters before being dispelled.
Flying a bit aside out of reach of the melee weapons Naroth casts another cloud.
To make sure the summoner stays down the tiger bites just for good measure, then moves forward to guard his master

Remember that you have that beacon of luck. You get a +2 luck bonus to your ST and you can burn if for a second ST. Unfortunately before a roll is made (GM: so you may want to give folks that option before rolling). On a nauseated roll I would have burned it for anything less than a 50% chance (DC 23), but I'm not sure Warpac would have known the spell or the DC and would have kept the beacon active otherwise.

I think I know what this is. How many rounds of nauseated?

Edit: thinking about burning beacon of luck
