Zeltor
Zeltor stands up, gathering his gear, and rubbing the sleep from his eyes - "Why would he take off on his own?" - he ponders, following Manny.
Don't we have others with us? Will we leave them on their own?
Sunny,
At being shaken Sunny mumbles,
Before she blinks and awakens to the darkness of reality. Yawning, stretching and rubbing her hair back into a semblance of its usual mop she stands and listens to the tale people are talking about, her eyes blinking as she pushes the last vestiges of dreams form her mind. She nods emphatically at Manny's words,
"Aye, ye see? Ye's already bein' rewarded fer doin' good deeds." She exclaims brightly.
Diplomacy:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14(Unskilled, but she's honest)
Before she skips over to where her gear is nestled in amongst the rest of the groups and she puts some things on,
Basically her gloves...belt with tonfa...thence wrapping all of her multiple scarfs about herself. As she picks up her seeming HUGE and fancy sword she asks,
"Whut's a bear...?" Then eyes her largest weapon and obviously is wondering if she'll need it.
Her last act is to gently give Donaon a light kiss on the forehead before scampering off with every one after this...'Bear'.. thing.
Sorval
You'll want that reach Sunny; trust me. I've heard than can pick up and move logs around. Sorval replies to The Elf's unspoken question. Hmm... bear; I can just imagine what it would taste like even now... Her smile widens... and it looks as if she is trying to suppress giddy laughter.
The Elusive Trout
Hersh looks quite pleased with this turn of events, as do the rest of the bandits who happened to awaken during the bustling event.
The party themselves set off into the night, the wind rustling through the trees and grass. The limping trail comes to a logical end as a loud cry echoes in the distance.
"AAAAARGH!"
Give me init.
The area that the poor bandit backed himself into is reasonably open and punctuated by only one fallen branch, though it provides no real barrier for anyone. The creature now getting ready to pounce on him is very-bear like... but the head is wrong. It seems rather... owlish.
You're looking at an owlbear.
The Elusive Trout
Sunny makes her move towards the hostage, and she gets quite close to him during the time in question.
Sorval rushes in with her rapier glistening.
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 251d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Needless to say, she gains the monster's attention.
[spoiler=Zeltor]
I never did get your init, bud, so I'm having you go right before MasterBlaster.
It stands up on its hind legs and turns on its attacker.
It bats her mercilessly in his claws and begins the process of trapping her.
She is grabbed and down 13 hp. It rolled well, to say the very least. Zeltor, Ruul, Manny?
MannyGoblin
Manny waits for Ruul to charge and then flips off his shoulders to flank the Bar.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
With expert grace, he bounces off it's head, lands to the rear and stabs the OwlBar in the back.
S.Sword, Flank: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 261d4 ⇒ 1
SA: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
Ruul Spiritskin
Seeing Sorval busy wrestling with the beast (or being wrestled by it), Ruul roars, lowers his head, and charges.
Charging Gore: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Sunny,
Sunny gives a small squeak of surprise at Sorval's actions and the seeming dire situation her furry friend has gotten them selves in.
Stepping towards the beasty, but with the fellow they are here to help still behind her, Sunny swing at the...um.. furry bird.
Att Roll:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Dam Att:1d8 ⇒ 8
And completely misjudges the size of the thing. :P
Zeltor
Apologies for the delay.
Zeltor is still staring at the creature, never having seen one quite like it, but he immediately reacts, firing two arrows in quick succession at their mark.
Flurry 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
The Elusive Trout
Manny's sneak attack does significantly more damage than the initial attack, but he acts as a pintsized ninja is expected to. Ruul likewise acts like the wrecking ball he is expected to be.
The beast can barely stand, but Sunny misses and Sorval is stuck within the grappling claws of the vicious beast.
It tosses her far into the air and roars.
Provoking AoOs. Also, hi. /meekly
Ruul Spiritskin
When the beast overextends, Ruul sweeps with his horns again.
AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Zeltor
Seeing Sorval being flung like a rag doll, the monk's bow pumps furiously - they are all wounded, and if the beast manages to get to anyone else, and their numbers dwindle, they may not stand a chance.
Flurry of Arrows 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Flurry of Arrows 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The Elusive Trout
Inexplicably, every opportunistic attack made at the creature missed.
Terribly.
Thankfully, Sunny managed to catch the flying Sorval.
Zeltor's arrows, which had pierced the beast even before, dripped with blood.
It was absolutely livid.
Because why not right now? Sunny and Sorval get to go before Zeltor, as well as the beast. Zeltor had hit earlier (which I forgot to describe). The thing is staggered. We need one more hit.
Sorval
Sorval looks at Sunny and rolls off of her as she mutters an apoligy- she grabs her blade and makes one more desperate stab at the owlbear (Because she's famished.)
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Frostbite damage(Cold NL): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The Elusive Trout
Sorval's attempt at attack is clumsy due to the agitation of her inner ears, but Manny handily cuts down the beast, taking advantage of the wounds already inflicted and curling his diminutive blade.
The beast lets out a horrible death rattle and falls into a contorted mess.
Leaving their rescued hostage to scream and try to scramble backwards, certain the beast will rise again, if his blubbering is to be believed.
Sunny,
Sunny brushes herself down with some quick pats, even as she looks around for whatever she may have dropped in her bid to catch poor Sorval. Her eyes do linger on the fallen beasty, though.
Stepping over to the fellow, she leans down and, offering a hand, smiles.
"Hey ya there!"
Diplomacy:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 (^_^)
"Whut be ye wanderin' around out here in'a dark all on yer lonesome fer, anywho?" She asks inquisitively.
MannyGoblin
Manny pokes the body. Hmm..Wonder if this is edible.
He then looks over at the hostage. You lucked out like a very..lucky type of person who needed a lot of luck. Get back to camp and stay there. Manny looks at the other goon types. Deal is still on, once we get back to town all of you vanish and don't do this banditry thing again or you won't be as lucky.
The Elusive Trout
With Sunny's prodding, the man makes sense again.
"I-I didn't want to die!" the bandit stammers to Sunny. "They'd hang me high, and.. what?!"
Manny's "deal" was completely new to him. And commanded loyalty.
The rest of the night is uneventful, and the next morning sees the group leading a more optimistic band of ne'er-do-wells to town.
Sunny,
Okeys, jus'a lil' question...but..How many folk did we 'save' from tha' cave? Sunny has some-in in mind fer 'em.
Once in town Sunny sees about getting Donaon to the local Church/Hospice and some good quality looking after (She offers some 'Sine' as a donation towards such an end).
Folding her blanket up on the floor she sets her gear beside Donaon's cot.
(Assuming he's still sleeping/recovering)
Sunny gives her friend a light 'peck' of a kiss on the forehead before skipping off and exploring the town, again. She informs the Priests a rough hour of when she should return.
With that she skips off to see what her new found friends are doing/getting up to. (^_^)
Sorval
Sorval is most likely recovering (with light activity) in town... but before they reach town she does ask the following query.
Apoligies- Ruul; but after we recover- do you think we can track down the witch?
