Hey, everybody! Congratulations on being accepted.
Just a little information about me. I'm 28, I live in Michigan, and I'm a brewer by trade. I've been running games since junior high and my favorite color is clear.
I'm free to post almost all the time, particularly in the evening. Weekends will be slower, but I'll still try to get stuff up.
In the mean time, feel free to introduce yourselves as much as you feel comfortable doing.
Patron Creation
Here are the keywords that you seven selected for your patron:
By this Axe I Rule
Elemental Earth
Law and Tradition
Knowledge
Liberating the Enslaved
Mercy and Healing
Secrets Beneath the Mountain
Songs and Secrets
The Rightful High King
That's an awfully wide range of purviews for one deity, so we need to narrow it further. Please pick three of the keywords from this list. Whichever three get the most selections will be the three defining aspects of your benevolent patron. Feel free to explain your picks.

Law & Tradition
Secrets Beneath the Mountain
By this Axe I Rule
I'm an accountant by trade. Live in Arizona. Only been doing the tabletop thing about 4 years. Before that was mostly an MMO kind of gal. Always wanted to try tabletop though, but never knew where to find it growing up. After a home robbery where my gaming rig was stolen, during a time I couldn't afford to replace it, I found tabletop as a way to alleviate my boredom. Haven't done any serious online gaming since.

Hello everyone!
I work for the Agricultural Research Service in the United States Department of Agriculture as a laboratory technician, chemist, biochemist, mass spectrometrist, or whatever my boss needs me to do really.
I've been doing Play by Post roleplaying and tabletop gaming since I was 10 (no one knows you're 10 on the internet), 16 years ago.
I was a Dwarf Fortress addict for at least 2 years, which solidified my love of these bearded, drunken, and destructive axe-wielding two-legged person-badgers. I look forward to making some very Dwarfy things happen with you all.
GM- What kind of brews do you make? I'm not a beer person, but I loooooove ciders. Also, I am VERY pleased we're starting out with seven dwarfs, as is tradition.
Everyone- We should get a line of succession established, because that sounds fun to me in some masochistic way. Dasur's mother was Alalin Tharnhammer, daughter of a Tharnhammer diplomat. Dasur will be a cousin of the main line, at best, and with his mother still living, not really even eligible for the throne.
I'm about to go to bed and will get a post up in the gameplay thread tomorrow.
Keywords, which I can example later if need be:
Elemental Earth
Knowledge
Secrets Beneath the Mountain

Hey there everyone! Glad to be playing with you folks!
I am a student going for pharmacy technician. I also live in Arizona and am friends with Dagmar's player. I've been gaming for about nine years now, started with friends back and high school and been in the hobby since. I've been running games for about five years now, haven't tried running anything PbP since I've still got the new car smell in regards to it.
I've never really played dwarves at all and I honestly think that this may be my very first one as well as my very first monk! You have no idea how excited I am to knee strike someone in the face as a tiny guy. Side note, I am easily amused. :P
Since I like the masochistic idea there, Ukrim is a former retainer to the Tharnhammer family. A noble in his own right but a very young child, he basically has nothing to claim as his own with his family. I am certain he will not be in line for the throne basically ever, unless awful things happen. As a regent, however, he could be temporarily.
For my own patron keys, I've selected
Secrets Under The Mountain
The Rightful High King
Liberating The Enslaved
I like Secrets Under The Mountain because there is the whole fate of Dallhammer! While we'll be creating a new legend and a new kingdom, I think it'd be fun and important to learn what happened to the old.
The Rightful High King I feel is another good one since that is the idea we rallied behind. Most of us are from the royal family after all. It helps unite our roleplay more as a group dedicated to building a new empire.
Liberating the Enslaved is probably my favorite, because it means we'll interact with some of the stranger races within the Underdark. Alliances and politics will be needed and it cements us as a force of good in such a hostile land.
I'm super excited to play with you guys, been looking forward to this idea. Also, this song got shared on my facebook and my inner nerd was stupidly excited. :D

Heigh-Ho! Seven Dwarves, all we need now is Snow White.
I'm a data purification specialist for the state of California. I'm generally a little shy about revealing much regarding myself IRL.
I will say, somewhat ironically, that I don't drink alcohol at all, despite playing a character skilled at brewing it.
Re: succession line, Hogun has not a drop of noble blood in his veins, his family having been retainers as far back as recorded memory reaches, so he should be in dead last or close to it, barring in-game developments like marriages.
Patron Keys:
• Knowledge
• Secrets Beneath the Mountain
• Songs and Secrets
Will try to get an alias sorted out ASAP. Looking forward to playing with everyone.

Hello everyone!
I'm 23, a Computer Science/Engineering student from Italy, and I've been playing RPGs since I was 14. I've started PbP this September and took to it like a fish to water. I can post pretty much every day, if on a weird timetable because of time zones.
I'm totally up for a succession line, I'm actually setting up a family tree using all the information I can find on the background. I actually thought we would end up with some kind of strife over who would be king, but wow, you surely handed me a lot of responsibility.
For Patron Keys I'd go with:
- The Rightful High King (that would be me)
- Secrets Beneath the Mountain (and so many)
- Law and Tradition (basically every dwarven kingdom ever)
Well then, let's get this party started, and remember to go for the knees.

I am thrilled to get to play. I have been playing table top games four about four to five years now. But I have been roleplaying since I was a child, I just never bothered to stop. Eventually I want the world my friend and I made to become a book.
I have been running, and I still am in my first campaign, for a little over two years. They will be hitting level 20 and be getting four or five mythic tiers. Yes I am insane for using mythic on my first DMing experience.
Along with playing Pathfinder I have played a few sessions of 3.5, my group is most of the way though a Robotech game, and we just started a Champions game.
I work in a warehouse in the state of Oklahoma. I work the night shift so my posting time is early afternoon before work and around this time since work is now over.
Sundays are normally my IRL game so I cannot always post but Saturday I typically can dos so.
As to the line of succession I have Nalnera descending from a sibling of the former ruler of Dammerhall. So she could defiantly be in the running but she does not want it currently. The Phantom is a long dead member of the royal family, not sure how many generations ago yet. His brother sat on the throne. I know that does not make her chances more likely but the Phantom will push her towards it even though she really is not interested. Unless someone else is seen to be better suited for it.
For the Patron keys.
Secrets Beneath the Mountain seems like an awesome thing. I love secrets! All that history we have to dig up.
Songs and Secrets appeals to me because again secrets. I love ral history, so that is a large part of the songs reasoning. I also love musicals so that is also a thing.
Law and Tradition gets my vote because it feels like a really good tie in to the whole 'making our old/new kingdom'
And to avoid any confusion with the Phantom. When he is not in Nalnera's mind and running about I will use his profile to post with. But when he is in her mind only seem can hear him and anything he has to say to her will be like this.
Play by post is a brilliant medium for dealing with the inner thoughts of the characters and the Spiritualist/Phantom relationship defiantly should benefit from it.

Alright, I've been watching The Crown and delving into the backstories, here are my results:
I have the strongest claim, since, as it stands, I am the only direct descendant of the High King (at least among those we have in our group).
By background, Dasur Deepborn could also be a direct descendant, should we decide that his mother Alalin was my mother Edda's sister. That would make him my first cousin, and give him a claim second only to mine. Otherwise, he could be second, third cousin and so on, or possibly even from an offshoot branch.
Nalnera is the granddaughter of my great-uncle, which makes her my second cousin (sharing great-grandparents). This means that she has a blood claim to the throne. Should Dasur be first cousin, she would have the third strongest claim, should he be second cousin she'd have a claim as strong as his (and they would be first or second cousins as well).
Dagmar married my first cousin, once removed (grandson of my great-grandfather), and has had children. She would have the weakest claim of all in the family, since it's a claim by marriage, not by blood, but a claim nonetheless. Her children, on the other hand, would be my second cousins, and therefore have a claim as strong as Nalnera.
Glenda, Ukrim and Hogun are retainers with no blood ties. This gives them no claim to the throne, unless I married Glenda. In that case, she would become Queen Consort.

Dasur Deepborn |

Dagmar- What MMOs did you play? Spent 8 years on WoW myself, from launch to cataclysm.
Nalnera- Oh I'm going to like you and your phantom.
Snorri- FANTASTIC work there. Honestly if you want to, I'll let you decide. If it's simpler to make Dasur a first cousin and put him second in line I'm all for it. If you want a bunch of numerically equivalent cousins fine by me too.
I wrote the backstory in a bit of a hurry, I'll probably be cleaning things up this weekend and going over my crunch selections for anything i missed (I was dissatisfied with picking Improved Initiative for my feat, there has to be SOMETHING more interesting out there)
Patron picks-
Elemental Earth- Because we're surrounded by it! Want it on our good side. Plus, all kinds of dwarf goodies come from the ground.
Knowledge- this one is kind of selfish, i just like knowledge
Secrets beneath the mountain- Digging Too Deep can bring good things too, right? This one just sounds Fun.

Dagmar Tharnhammer |

Dagmar- What MMOs did you play? Spent 8 years on WoW myself, from launch to cataclysm.
Everquest for more years than I can remember, somewhere around 12-ish. WoW about as long as you, launch until Pandera beta. Did heavy raiding in both.
Also did some smaller stints in about a dozen other games, but nothing really more than a year or 2 here and there.
Nalnera Tharnhammer |

Glad you like the phantom and me. It is a weird kind of roleplay and hopefully everyone enjoys it.

Dasur Deepborn |

I played Everquest when i was about 11 I think? I only remember making a dwarf, sitting in the city, and crafting making alcohol and arrows until my box subscription ran out.
WoW was much more serious, exclusively played a Troll Hunter named Galorit for the entire time. Extensive raiding, PvPing, and achievement hunting with some of the best friends I've made in my life. Pandaria was a breaking point for me too. My rose-tinted goggles are thick, heh.
When i meet someone that's played WoW I always wonder if our paths ever crossed at some point.

Snorri Tharnhammer |

Glenda, we're just missing your patron keys, I think.
Dasur, if you and Nalnera want to be cousins as well we would be even more of a tight family, and it could be interesting to choose who is second in line...

Dasur Deepborn |

I agree, let's make Dasur and Nalnera cousins, far more interesting.
By the way- I saw the movie Arrival last night, and would highly recommend it to everyone. If you love sci-fi it's a must see. If you just like to think, you'll very much enjoy it.

Nalnera Tharnhammer |

I am fine with the cousin thing.
Also my list of movies I want to watch is ridiculously long. All you are doing is adding to it. Though I do love sci-fi and movies that stay with you.

Dagmar Tharnhammer |

Do we have a verdict on the patron keys? I think everyone voted for Secrets Beneath the Mountain but looks to be a pretty close tie for many of the others.

GM R0B0GEISHA |

Sorry about the delays, guys. Holidays are making it difficult to post.
Elemental Earth - I
Secrets Beneath the Mountain - VI
Knowledge - II
Law and Tradition - III
Songs and Secrets - II
The Rightful High King - II
Liberating the Enslaved - I
By This Axe I Rule - I
Okay, we have some ties. Secrets Beneath the Mountain and Law and Tradition are in for sure, but we need to have a second round of voting between Knowledge, Songs and Secrets, and the Rightful High King. Please cast one vote and we'll be able to move on to the next section of Patron construction. :)

Snorri Tharnhammer |

Considering the other two, I'd go for Knowledge. Without Knowledge, the Secrets Beneath the Mountain will be of little use.

Ukrim Warmcloak |

I think I'm going to put my vote in for Knowledge, simply because I'm intrigued to see where it'll go.

Nalnera Tharnhammer |

I guess I will go with Knowledge but could we make it songs and knowledge :D I love singing!

Glenda Dalduraz |

Hmm. I never got a notification from the board that there were new posts in discussion.
I guess for round 2 I'll vote for Knowledge.

Dasur Deepborn |

Hmmm we only have 3 days of Doled's food left, but it's a 5 1/2 day journey to Fasturvalt. That's 2 days of food unaccounted at least.
Dasur has 4 days of trail rations on him for use, so that can feed himself and another.

Snorri Tharnhammer |

I have five days of rations. Those who have Survival could use it when possible, there may be mushrooms.

Dagmar Tharnhammer |

In addition to personal rations, Dagmar has 5 days worth of food she can cook.
If anyone can hunt, she can prep it for rations/travel. Definitely planning to resupply is gnome town if we can. Most of Dagmar's travel capacity is taken with food stuffs. =)
-EDIT-
Also, having trouble finding a link since it's in Divine Anthology, but Folgrit's Bounty trait is very yummy (yes pun intended), so if we use this for breakfasts this will cover everyone nicely at the cost of about 3 gold per person per day.
Folgrit's Bounty: You were taught to tend the sacred health-fire and cook nourishing means as a child. You can a +1 trait bonus on Profession (cook) checks and can prepare a nourishing meal of up to eight portions with 1 hour effort at the cost of 20 gp. Anyone who eats a portion within 1 day (which takes 10 minutes) gains a +1 morale bonus that can be applied to any one skill check or attack roll in the next 8 hours. The bonus must be applied before the roll is made and cannot be renewed by another meal for 1 day.

Nalnera Tharnhammer |

I started off with a weeks worth of trail rations and Dagmar I have a cooking kit if you wish to use it. It contains an iron pot, an iron skillet, a ladle, a skewer, a wooden cutting board, a cutting knife, an iron tripod for the pot, a packet of tinder, and a small selection of local or otherwise easy to find seasonings. You can attach the skewer to the tripod for roasting small game animals. All the component pieces (except the skillet) fit within the pot for easy storage and transport.
Also I am all for visiting people.
GM R0B0GEISHA you said he gave us a weeks worth of rations. Is that a weeks worth for everyone?

Hogun Greyingot |

Hogun has 5 days trail rations. In addition, according to the starvation rules, characters can go 3 days without food before suffering any mechanical penalty, so if necessary, we could stretch those supplies quite far.
Reminder that using Survival to forage reduces speed by half.
That said, Hogun's Survival check is sufficient to provide for himself and two others – sufficient to provide for himself and three others, if we have anyone who can cast guidance on him.
I don't think it will tip the scales at this point, but my vote is still for Songs & Secrets.

Nalnera Tharnhammer |

Bah! I posted before you, Ukrim, and your offers of socializing!

Ukrim Warmcloak |

I know! I was late to the party. I tried to make them minor conversations, things people would ask about on the journey here. Now we can fill in the spots with all our fluff :D

GM R0B0GEISHA |

Okay, the votes are in and our Patron will be influenced most heavily by Secrets Beneath the Mountain, Law and Order, and Knowledge. I think I can work with that.
Law and Order is a pillar of dwarven society, as sacred as the stone you stand on. Your religion is heavily codified and steeped in ancient traditions. Your Patron is wise and hoards knowledge for dwarfkind. This is where he draws the wisdom of dwarven law. Finally, this search for knowledge represents that your patron wishes you to reclaim the lore that the dwarves lost when Dammerhall fell: the Secrets Beneath the Mountain.
To flesh it out, each of you should write one example of what your patron might reward (a virtue) or what it might punish (a sin) and place it in a spoiler so the others can't see. They shouldn't be complicated; something described by a simple sentence. A good sin from the example above could be something like "Going against tradition."
Once I have all the ideas, I'll post them together and we can vote on them.

Snorri Tharnhammer |

The Patron would reward cooperation. No dwarf can do everything, but dwarves working together can do anything. This comes together with humility.
As for a Sin, the opposite of cooperation is selfishness. Those who work against the common good put everyone in jeopardy.

Dagmar Tharnhammer |

-Posted with Wayfinder

Nalnera Tharnhammer |

I will think on it and get a response for you this weekend.

Ukrim Warmcloak |

Dasur Deepborn |

Virtue: Oncovering, documenting, and practicing The Old Ways for the benefit of future dwarfkind.
Sin: Purposely sharing secret knowledge with non-dwarfs, especially blasphemous if done for personal gain.

Glenda Dalduraz |

Virtue: Bringing together the dwarven people in a cooperative effort to build a culture and a legacy through united efforts
Sin: Forgetting, defiling, or disrespecting the memory, legend, and sacrifices of prior generations

Hogun Greyingot |

Virtue: Performing a daring or risky act to recover lost lore.
I'm not sure if this is possible, but considering the secrets/lost knowledge angle, perhaps it would be interesting if the knowledge/faith of the patron itself was lost in the fall of Dammerhall, and they are no longer known or widely known among dwarves?

Nalnera Tharnhammer |

Reasoning: Knowledge is big for the is this Patron and by constantly striving to discover wither new or old ways to assist the Dwarven people is a important feature. While old knowledge is precious one should always strive to create something new so that in time it becomes that ancient precious piece of knowledge.
Reasoning: Through becoming to content in what one has and there for feeling that they no longer need to try to improve anything these people no longer seek to better anyone's lives. Nothing is ever learned though complacency.

Dasur Deepborn |

** spoiler omitted **
I'm not sure if this is possible, but considering the secrets/lost knowledge angle, perhaps it would be interesting if the knowledge/faith of the patron itself was lost in the fall of Dammerhall, and they are no longer known or widely known among dwarves?
Ooooh I like this a lot. Seconded!

Ukrim Warmcloak |

I also realize...what language are we going to use to represent Dwarven? I used Mongolian for my first post with it but will happily change it so we can use a language everyone finds appealing. :D

Snorri Tharnhammer |

I used Ancient Greek for my battlecry, but it's totally impractical to use it in a conversation >_> Mongolian sounds nice, I seem to remember using German and Icelandic to good effect as well.
