@Jack- Youdo not have to use Sense motive bonus if you don't want to.
That spoiler was only for Jack and or Aishe's familiar as they are the only ones that are able to catch it.
Jack folds his hand as Tsadok scraps in his winnings. The dealer pours the Half-orc a hearty drink to which he finishes quickly.
What say we make this interesting Jacky Tsadok says as his tooth gleams.
The dealer once again deals the hands as Tsadok pushes his entire collection into the pot. What say you? All in.
You notice the dealer subtely manipulate the deck as he deals. Catching him will place Tsadok with a -6 modifier
Tsadok - 0 PP
Jack-134 PP
Pot 66 PP

Aishe whispers to Jack and the others. "The dealer's in on it, throwing Tsadok the cards he needs. Jack, use that to your advantage...somehow."
Jack Handsome |
Jacks Hand is 20 in total. What happens if booth sides have 20?You said no one wins?
Jack smiles at Tsadok and counts 65 PP in and throws down his cards.... 20 in total. His grin wans when Tsadok also reveals his cards.... 20. Looking at his remaining coins and Tsadoks empty stash he hands over 10 to his opponent.
"To keep it going."
And slams another PP on the table.
IF the touch of chaos ability, something I NEVER used before is undetectable, it has no saving throw etc he will unload it when he gives his cards back to the dealer, giving him the status that he rolls twice and takes the worst deck.
GM Tyranius |
Basically if you are tied then noone wins. Though if you are able to catch the dealer. the round you do deals Tsadok a -6 modifier bringing him to 14
The touch of chaos is detectable.
GM Tyranius |
With Aishe's message Jack catches the dealer's movement's. Angry Tsadok swats the bumbling man away.
Bumbling fool just cost me the game! No bother Jack. The half-orc saysas he waves his hand at the 10 PP Jack was sending his way. Reaching across the table he begins to gather his PP that Jack won. It twas a friendly game after all. He says with a smile.
Charles Beecroft |
Charles raises an eyebrow at the man's statement that it was a 'friendly game', and waits to see how Jack responds.
I highly doubt he would have said that if he had won...

"Just a moment my friend. It was a game... and a wager is a wager. I will take great care that your donation to besmaras cause will not be wasted. You lost... but we all won. After our acceptance some of those 100pp will be used to buy some Booze for all of us. In Tsadoks name.
What do you all say. Is that fair?"
GM Tyranius |
Tsadok pulls his hands back and shakes Jack's hand. Yes, Yes all is indeed fair.
Walking to the edge of the deck. For the last challenge we will need the rest of yer Captain's. We must see yer combat abilities. The officers may be anywhere on their ship that they like to start but the rest of the crew must remain on the dock. You must prove that you alone are able to defend yer ship from boarders.[/b]
Posting the map. Go ahead and place yourselves where you wish to start. Right to the south of the boat is the docks.
GM Tyranius |
Yes, Just as if you were really being boarded.
Aishe Kaleja |
Aishe grins as she gets in position, "We've bested each of your tests thus far; we will prove ourselves in this as well."
Aishe will prepare by casting Heightened Awareness first (to be dismissed for an Initiative boost once combat starts), then Mirror Image and Good Hope. She will have her pike extended to its fullest extent, as well.

Don't forget to roll for # of images Aishe
Once the Captains are in position tsadok snaps his fingers. A small squad of his crew begins to wheel forth a large, covered cage onto the deck adjacent Besmara's Fortune.
Tsadok grabs the cover, tearing it free from the cage as he unlocks the cage and opens the door running back to the docks to watch.
Inside the cage stands a hideously, ugly and obese giant.
Aishe is quick to respond as Tsadok yells out from the docks. THIS BE FISHPORK! HE WANTED TO JOIN YER CREW! The docks howl with laughter.

Correct Aishe.
As the giant falls Viviana and Aishe takes advantage and pummel the poor creature while it is down.
Viviana finds a weakness on the lumbering behemoth and focuses right on it. She slams her foot hard into it's weak knee.
The giant falls to the ground as Aishe extends her boarding pike into it's neck.
Tsadok grimaces once again as the crowd cheers. Regaining his composure he approaches the group.
Waving them in to a tight circle around him he whispers to them. With a large smile he heartily thanks you.[/b]Thanks for being such good sorts about all the games.[/b]
Turning to the crowd he makes an announcement. THE BESMARA's FORTUNE INDEED DESERVES TO BECOME FREE PIRATES OF THE SHACKLES!
The announcement is followed by a boisterous cheer from the onlooking crowd. HURRICANE KING KERDAK BONEFIST HIMSELF WILL GRANT THEIR LETTER OF MARQUE THIS VERY EVENING.
This announcement receives much less applause.

GM Tyranius |
Well said Jack! Tsadok says. He bids the group farewell as he gives instructions how were to go tonight to Fort Hazard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
As the group arrives to Fort Hazard the revelry is already in full swing. Tables are laden with roast meat and flagons of ale, mead and rum, and loud, drunken buccaneers swagger and stagger all around the main hall.
Hurricane King Kerdak Bonefist presides over the revelry from his gold-chased, teakwood throne. A blustery man with long black hair and a beard, Bonefist looks more pirate than king, foregoing his crown for and royal regalia for the long coat and tricorne hat of a sea captain. A tankard of rum barely leaves his hand but his most noteworthy feature are his magical pistol and skeletal right hand.
The bleary eyed man stares down at the group as they are brought forth for introductions. Bonefist stands and repeatedly yells. Silence! SILENCE! only to be ignored. Finally he pulls forth his pistol and fires it into the air a couple of times, establishing a deathly silence after the thunderous roar. He glares Fierly into the hall until, with an apparent change in the mood, he smiles and speaks in a calm voice.
This fresh catch of scallywags want to add their fine ship to our brethren o' the sea He says waving his still smoking pistol towards the group. But before I award their letter of marque and make them Free Captains right and true, I say we hear from them. Bonefist turns his dark gaze upon the group. What say you tell us all a tale or two on how you came by the plunder in your hold? The inebriated pirates draw closer to hear.

Charles Beecroft |
"Well, there was the time that we encountered the ghost of Whalebone Pilk... A fog came out of nowhere, there was the eerie sound of a ringing bell, and then a rotting ship, crewed by the spirits of the dead came upon us! Shredding bloated zombies left and right, we hacked our way across the the ship, and destroyed the bell that was the source of Pilk's powers, causing his spirit to pass on to the Boneyard. We were then able to loot the treasures in his ship's hold that he had collected over the decades."
Charles at this point pulls out a chunk of old ship's bell, and holds it high.
"Lest you doubt me, here is a piece of his gods-damned bell, recovered before his ship sank beneath the waves!"
Charles pauses to let that sink in, before continuing.
"Then, of course, there was the time that we went after the lost treasure of Cyrus Wolfe! After ripping the treasure's location from a tattoo on the back of a comely-looking sorceror-type, we headed to Mancatcher Cove, only to discover that the treasure had already been found by a tribe of Sahuagin! Not willing to let that state of affairs ride, we slaughtered our way through them, destroying every single one of them, before recovering the treasure."
He then takes the trident formed from coral off his back, and holds it high.
"This was the personal weapon of the tribe's chieftain, a four-armed monstrosity who we took down after barely breaking a sweat. Truly, I think we are amply suited to be recognised as Free Captains."

At the end of Charles' tale Bonefist raises his skeletal hand for a call of approval. Aye or Nay to decide! The crowd resounds with a cacophony. AYE!
Bonefist stands and hands Jack the official letter of Marque. The letter is scribed with a firm hand in blood red ink and emblazoned with an elaborate seal of crimson wax. This thick waxed paper grants it's bearer license to attack and capture ships of enemy nations as a privateer and also granting permission to engage in acts of egregious acts of pillage and prize-taking, which can only be described as piracy in more lawful nations. Possession of a letter of marque is a crime in most civilized nations and regularly carries a penalty of death. As a result letters of marque are protected by a secret page spell enabling the captains to speak a secret word to alter the text into something such as a cargo manifest or ship's log. It is common knowledge who in the Shackles that has been granted a letter and most free captains keep accounts of which ships and Captains have them making it extraordinarily difficult to forge any of the documents.
Bonefist looks to the Besmara's Fortune Captains. You have earned this now go out to Port Peril. Enjoy some of the taverns tonight with yer crew!
Jack Handsome |
Clinging his mug on the table... Jack jumps up and cries.
"Shackles, Shackles, Shackles. And an hooray for our king, the master of desaster, the Promise of Plunder, the master of thunder and fire, the one and only Bonefist!"
GM Tyranius |
The rest of the hall joins in with Jack's revelry. After a moment Bonefist raises his pistol into the air once more. Enough festivities here. Now join ye crews!

GM Tyranius |
A large group of the tavern joins into Aishe's shanty as the tavern is completely packed this evening.

Jack Handsome |
Posting with the man Jack tells all the bystanders of won battles and riches gained, never forgetting to praise Besmara. As soon as he sees Caulky he will quickly draw his dagger, before sheathing it again and smell at his mug.
Tyranius |
As the group stands from their table and Viviana essentially brushes past the now confused Captain, Caulky's gaze is now in their direction as her eyes grow wide. She attempts to make it to the door though she sees that the exit is now past the Besmara's Fortune Captain's.
Just as Caulky begins to move a voice sounds off into the bar. A woman stands up forcefully. Someone is tryin' ta poison me drink! The woman hurls he drink across the table striking another rough looking buccaneer.
