Near the back wall of the darkened cave, a ship's anchor has been driven into the ground. It's heavy chain is coiled around skeletal remains. The rotten remains of a captain's coat still hang from the skeletal frame and a silvery pendant dangles from it's neck.

Aishe Kaleja |

Aishe, concerned and keeping her distance, extends her boarding pike to its fullest extent and thrusts it at the skeletal captain.
Attack (+1 Boarding Pike of Repelling, Power Attack): 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 2 = 11
Damage (+1 Boarding Pike of Repelling, Power Attack): 1d8 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 6 = 17
If that doesn't hit, she will go ahead and cast gallant inspiration for an additional 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 to hit.

Don't they always Viviana :)
Charles and Viviana notice that the pendant around the creature's neck looks to be of the same material as the necklace around Somia. Made of Deep Platinum with queerlyshaped blue and black whorls. The pendant resembles a chaotic cluster of tentacles and fluke tails.
Aishe pokes he boarding pike into the creature, though with some resistance it doesn't enter as far as she would think it would and it doesn't look like it damaged it. As Viviana would thin the creature begins to stir though.

@Viviana- Whats the additional +8 to the first damage from?
Jack fires a bolt at the undead but it seems to go right through it's rib cage.
Charles and Aishe shake in paralyzed fear at it's presence though they seem to clear their heads pretty quickly.
The ancient undead easily frees itself from the large anchor chain as skin rips from it's body. The large chain falls to the soft ground with a thud as it reaches for Charles.

The creature presses it's rotting lips against Charles' mouth and begins to regurgitate old sea water into Charles, filling his lungs before it pulls back.
For the next 10 rounds the victim must succeed at a DC 16 Fort save or be dazed and take 1d4 damage for that round. Three consecutive saves is what it takes to cough up all of the water and clear the effect. If your hp reaches 0 you fall unconscious and following round you drown.

Charles continues to hack and cough, attempting to expel the disgusting water from his lungs.
...and taking 1d4 ⇒ 4 damage.

Aishe Kaleja |

Aishe was purposefully staying away from the thing, too, hence the "extend the pike" action. If nothing else, she was using a reach weapon, so she wouldn't have been adjacent like the map suggested. I have updated Aishe's position to what I thought it would have been. If he wants to move and attack, he'd have drawn AoO's from Viviana and Charles.

Yup. The stat text was conflicting a bit. It made it sound like he just kisses quick and releases but the grab ability does say it maintains the grapple. So I will go in that grapple was still maintained and crit confirms then.
Aishe's pike extends through the creature's chest causing it to explode outward into small shards of bone.

Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20.
...and incredibly, after some struggling, manages to cough-up the rest of the befouled water.
"That," he says weakly, "was incredibly unpleasant; I feel more than a little violated."
Charles shudders, but then gets a grip on himself, and recovers.
"Let's see what we have here..."
He then proceeds to search the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37.
Some healing would be nice, if we have it ;-)

![]() |

Searching the room al Charles is able to find of interest is the deep platinum necklace hanging around the ancient undead's neck. The deep platinum necklace resembles a chaotic cluster of tentacles and fluke tails. Staring at the necklace for too long seems to make Charles feel a little shaken every now and again as his head becomes a bit cloudy.
Necklace is worth 2000 gp

Charles Beecroft |

With a shiver, Charles grabs the necklace, and quickly stuffs it in his pack.
"Right then. Now that's settled, let's try that other passage we have left to look at..."
Assuming that I can have some healing first, of course ;-)

![]() |

I will wait and see if anyone else has healing. If not you guys can use the 1 or 2 healing spells that Somia has left available.
Would you like to recruit another or leave at 4?

Somia is still getting untangles but is able to tend to the groups wounds.

Curtains of golden seaweed block either end of this room. A crudely chisled dais sits against the back wall, supporting a stone throne of massive proportions. The throne's eroded appearance, darkly stained stones, strange runes and images of one eyed beasts make it evident that it has sat in the slime at the bottom of the sea for long ages before being dragged up and placed here.
Standing before the throne floats a mutant four armed sahuagin monstrosity who does not seem to look pleased that you have invaded his throne room. He chatters a few quick snaps to the eastern room.

Aishe Kaleja |

Aishe begins singing to assist those in the front with bringing down the monstrous beast, and extends her pike to deal with the smaller sahuagin.

Swift action: Extend pike

Aishe begins to sing, inspiring her allies as she extends her pike to the maximum length.
Jack quickly fires a bolt at the four armed beast. The bolt finds it's mark in the creature's stomach causing it to hunch over.
Viviana shrugs off the lethargic feeling in her muscles and lashes back in a flurry of blows. Her first strike finds it's mark as the other's miss the creature.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
So Close!
Viviana is able to punch the four armed creature directly in the neck. It's eyes roll back in it's head as it falls unconscious.
Charles easily finishes the creature off.
He has so much going for him too.
The remaining Sahuagin drop their weapons and begin to hold their arms in the air as if begging.

Charles finishes off the last of the Sahuagin tribe without remorse.
Sifting through the bodies the group finds a few items of interest.
- 2 Potions of CMW -you know what they look like by now :)
- masterwork scale mail
- The glowing trident that the four armed Sahuagin was carrying
- A deep Platinum necklace around the four armed Sahuagin's neck. (3000 gp)
Behind one of the seaweed curtains you find
- A gold plated conch shell engraved with images of sea elves and hippocampi (1200 gp) That holds a selection of putrid fish and humanoid livers (A Sahuagin delicacy).
- A golded tattooing kit (50 gp)
- Burnished brass hand mirror (20 gp)
- A gold Varisian music box (no longer works) that holds the ivory image of a dancing harrower (400 gp). Inscribed on the underside of the lid are the words. "For my darling Isabella"
The massive stone throne is quite impressive as it was far bigger than the Sahuagin who sat upon it. It looks as if there is a passage behind the throne

![]() |

Looking about the throne Jack does not notice any traps, though he does notice plenty of runes carved within and believes it to hold some form of magic.

Charles Beecroft |

"Right. Let's see what is behind that throne..."
Charles moves to cautiously examine the passage.
@GM: Also, looking at that map, I just realised something - I don't think we ever went into area #3? (At least, I don't remember leaving the water, and it looks like there is an air pocket on that map...)

Charles and Jack are able to barely move the large chair just enough for them to squeeze through one at a time. The chamber hidden below the great throne is empty save for two chests. One is iron banded chest decorated with skulls that seems to have held up remarkably well considering it's immersion in seawater. The other is a stone box with the image of a fish-headed demon carved onto it's lid, whose seams appear to have been sealed by lead.

![]() |

Looking at the chests Charles notices that the stone chest seeping a dark green poisonous mist.
