Charles and the group continue to push south. Opening the thick seaweed curtain in this room reveals swarms of Sahuagin fingerlings and newly hatched sahuagin fry. The seaweed curtain in this room seems thick enough to hold back the newly hatched Sahuagin.

The Sahuagin range in size from a newly hatched fry, no larger than a human thumb, to a fingerling, the size of a human toddler. A few of the larger Sahuagin swim around eating some of the smaller fry.

On the eastern wall is a muddy compound that holds thousands of marble sized, milky eggs. Also residing in the chamber is a very large and older Sahuagin carrying a coral staff. She turns to see the intruders and begins to screech. THEY COME TO TAKE THE FINGERLINGS!

Oh, for a Fireball... Cleaning out this room will take some time...

Noting the size of the creature, Charles braces himself, ready to attack when it approaches.

Delay, since I can't 5' underwater, and that thing looks like it has reach.

"It would appear childbirth hasn't been good to her body." Somia smiles as she swims into range of a Slumber Hex.

Hehe a Fireball would be fun

Charles braces himself for the oncoming behemoth as Somia moves in and attempts to lull it to sleep.

The large Sahuagin shakes of Somia's lull as she swims right at the woman and bites at her

Now that it has obligingly moved closer...

Charles starts raging, causing his form to blur, and propels himself through the water at the over-sized sahuagin!

Swim: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 13.

Trident: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 + 2 = 31, for 1d8 + 14 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 14 + 3 + 2 = 22 damage.

"Hey tubby", Viviana remarks, attempting to lighten the situation with a bit of (poor), humour as she mentally adjusts to fighting this massive enemy, moving closer and attempting to smack it, hoping her Knockout ability will succeed and end the fight as quick as it started.

Swift Action, gaining the effect of the Dragon Style feat

Wisdom Check for +2 to attack rolls: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 9 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 7 = 22

She needs to make a DC 18 Fortitude Save or she falls unconscious for 1d6 rounds.

Question, can I charge through water if I ignore difficult terrain?

Somia swims a little out of the way, laying a hand upon Charles as she does so, making his image swirl and shift like mist.

Hex Mist Shroud on Charles, 20% chance to miss until it prevents a blow a for 1 minute.

NB: I've still got Slipstream, that will grant someone a swim speed of 20 for an hour, not sure who's best to cast it on through...

Aishe moves into position bracing herself as Charles and Viviana move in to finish off the Sahuagin.

AoO vs Viviana AC 17: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Viviana breaks the creatures spine with a kick as Charles stabs the larger Sahuagin clean through the throat.

Aishe stops singing and begins searching the area.

Perception (Take 10): 10 + 12 = 22

Charles nods in satisfaction, and begins the grim task of clearing out the contents of the room.

A Fireball would have been more convenient, but you work with what you have...

Aishe does not find anything of importance within the chamber. It seems this chamber was solely used as a nursery of sorts.

Charles goes about clearing out the chamber effectively killing the larger younger Sahuagin.

How many of them do you want to kill as there are hundreds? Your water breathing is on a timer.

Is there any way to collapse the passageway, then?

Not without many hours of labor as it is all rough hard coral below feet of stone.

"Charles, we can come back later, they don't grow that fast - chances are they'll starve without a caretaker anyway."

"I doubt it. They will probably eat each other..."

Nevertheless, he reluctantly moves on to the next location.

Charles swims out, perturbs at not killing the infant Sahuagin and comtinues to explore the vast complex. In the middle chamber he finds a large dead moray eel hanging from a large iron hook to include the upper torso arms and head of a Locathah. The head and body look familiar to the mentally broken creature found above. A dead Sahuagin and the slightly bloated corpses of three large mackerel float near the ceiling.

Stacked in the corner are:

• Cases of bolts containing 47 bolts

Charles wrinkles his nose in distaste.

"Charming. I guess this must be their 'larder'..."

Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22.

Rummaging amongst the bolts, he finds a wand.

"Anyone know what this does?"

Charles then swims down to the end of the corridor, and peers into the area beyond.

Checking around jack perc: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

Aishe examines the wand, attempting to discern its utility.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Aishe investigates the magical properties of the wand but is unable to discern it's true intent.

The group continues on to the next cavern as four sharks feed in a frenzy of leftovers of a localathe body.

Somia seems to be drawn to wards the western wall where she sees a crevice in the coral. Somia sees that there may be another room behind the crevice.

The Sharks continue to feed.

"Well, we don't want those things at our backs, that's for sure..." She proceeds to cast a spell, then swims towards the sharks, extends her pike and hopes for the best.

Charles swims closer to the sharks, eager to skewer them on the point of his trident.

"Could we draw them to the litt... ah I am too cruel."
Shooting into the first shark jack wants to entice them to feed on themselves.

Aishe's body begins to hum in the water as she stretches. The image snaps into 6 other images as they each mimic her every action. 7 boarding pikes each extend out into the water.

Jack fires a bolt into the red shark, causing blood to fill the chamber. while Charles swims closer.

Aishe I am assuming you are extending the full 20 feet?

Sorry, yeah. Also, in case it matters, here are some rolls...

Somia stays near the back, but readies her spear to attack if any of the sharks do come towards her.

If underwater is considered difficult terrain then I can charge, if its something else then I cannot. Ugh, so confusing.

Viviana swims up alongside Charles, ready to launch into a close quarters attack.

Not difficult terrain but I would say that not able to charge without a swim speed. If you get an item to give you swim speed in the future then you should be able to charge underwater just fine.

Viviana swims forward with Charles as Somia readies her spear.

The Sharks dart through the water with grace as Aishe stabs the front three Sharks with her pike. The Red Shark is nearly skewered in twine as the remaining two are severely injured.

The blue and yellow sharks bite at Charles.

The blue shark's razor teeth scrape across Charles armor as the yellow shark's teeth begin to crush in the sides puncturing in through his flesh.

Happy to help - I have seen too many games stagnate and die, and so I have gotten into the habit of 'pushing' in the ones that I am enjoying :-)

Utterly incensed by the shark's temerity, Charles attempts to skewer it!

Trident (versus yellow): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27, for 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 damage.

Aishe thrusts with her boarding pike, aiming for the other shark she previously wounded.

oh I am going to take this one to the end. This book is just an awkward one since it deals a lot with weak Sahuagins. Which should be a first couple level creature. The 3rd book and onward looks to greatly increase in difficulty by like a huge margin.

Charles stabs his Trident through the shark's gills nearly severing it's head as Aishe skewers the blue shark with ease.

Charles eagerly takes a swipe at the remaining shark, before it can cause any more damage.

Charles easily finishes the shark while Somia feels a stronger urge drawing her towards the crevice in the western wall.

My apologies, could have sworn I let everyone know that my activity was going to be non existent for this last week or so due to my new internet provider screwing up and sending my new router a week late. Man its hard not having internet but I guess thats first world problems.

Charles looks to the others.

"Well? Which way shall we go?"

Hehe it's ok :) I feel like my router dies on my like once a year though I know it is probably less

"If we're intent on destroying the whole population, we should probably finish dealing with the tunnels down here before heading back up. I suggest we head back the way we came and take the left fork..."

He then moves off to investigate the indicated passage.

The group heads back up a side tunnel into a chamber that is completely choked with seaweed from dozens of beds that grow throughout the chamber from floor to ceiling.

This entire room is difficult terrain. Not that the whole place isn't with the swim checks hehe. Concealment for anything beyond 5 feet (20% miss chance)and total concealment for anything beyond 10 feet (50% miss chance)

Aishe balks briefly. "Well, no telling what's hiding in there, treasure or creature. Shall we enter anyway?"

Charles shrugs.

"Well, we are trying to eliminate these creatures... So we need to explore everywhere..."

So saying, he swims forward, using his trident as a probe.
