A few things of note before we continue:
- Most of you already know this, but please do not read other players' spoilers. If the spoiler doesn't have your name on it, it isn't meant for you and it's likely that you're in a different part of the ship than the other players, so you would not know what they're doing.
- If I ask you for a skill check, give me that check at the very top of your post before any other rolls or text.
Other than that, I'm just putting together the tomorrow's (in game time) post and working out how Kragor and Jaska will encounter the others. I'll have that post up today.

Saturday, finally have time to come back to you. Sorry for my absence, and lets get down to it. And in the interest of transparency I am going to do this all out in the open, so everyone can see the process and understand how we came to this decision.
Okay so I got a PM from Aq first, wanting me to intervene and stop Red from kicking him from the group, if it should come to that. I asked some questions and got some answers and ended up with Aqs version of events, missing one key piece of information, the message that sparked off the whole conversation to begin with.
So the disagreement we are facing here is one of choices, new players were chosen (Sorry you have to go through this guys but sometimes dirty laundry needs to be aired out) and Aq felt that one of the characters (Not naming names and will request that Red and Aq do the same, if they have any respect for me and for the game) did not deserve to be chosen, and may have stated that fact quite strongly and in what he will agree, was not a very polite manner.
Now during the conversation between Red and Aq about why said character was chosen and why another character wasn't, Aq stated that my opinion should not be taken in to account, when picking the new characters, which is fair enough. I am the one who enforced this hiatus and therefore what happens to the game in my absence is not within my control. I could accept that position and would have Aq, if you then did not come to me looking for me to shelter you from Red. Either I have no say in the game or I do. You chose do, so here are my thoughts - I severely disliked the character you would have chosen in place. He would not fit in the ship in any way shape of form. Part of this dislike stems from him also being another weird race. Going in to the recruitment me and Red were on the same page (Me as an advisory point of view with no more power than you yourself Aq) we were both interested in bog standard Core races. My list of candidates I liked were all human or orc or likewise. I did not want a weird race, we have enough of them.
Now on to the current standing. I like you Aq and you are good at pushing on the story, but you are maybe not as well liked within the party as you could be, and I should have picked up on that. One of the things that has been mentioned is your cheating. I'm not angry, I'm not even accusing here, you just do. It is a small thing, you roll a different check before the main check you are asked for, to give yourself better dice. I have seen it and I usually deal with it by GM applying the bonus of the check you were asked to roll, to the initial roll. I do that all in the background because I like you and value you as a player. I did not talk this over with Red however and he noticed, as have some other players.
But that does not mean you can just be kicked from the party, as I said, I like you, and I do not want to see you gone. But we are an equal shares ship here, one for me, one for you and one for the ship, so we will do this diplomatically.
There is a vote to ask Aqguazula to leave the ship, what say ye?
Sorry it came to this all. I'm posting with my non GM alias because this is coming from me, not from Tide.
As an aside, I f&&@ing hate confrontation on the boards so I am not taking this lightly.

My opinion of this situation lies pretty far in one direction. I play and GM on these boards for one thing: fun. When that's put into question or drama unfolds and it gets to the point that I'm arguing with a player over PM, my interest in GMing a game for that player goes straight to zero.
I find it interesting that Aq is quick to throw Tide under the bus in saying that his opinion doesn't matter, only to later ask him to intervene and prevent me from kicking him out of the game. Not only did Aq send scathing, rude messages, demanding his friend be chosen instead, but he insisted that he was a "co-GM," "the best roleplayer in the group," and that he's the key one driving this game forward. There's a little thing I like to call modesty - it goes a long way. Moreover, as Tide said, he also cheats and reads other players' spoilers. Why anyone does this in a roleplaying game is beyond me. Was Aq really good at pushing the story, or was he good at pushing people into doing things that fit his long-term goals of being captain? If another player managed to become captain instead, how do you think Aq would react?
The democratic recruitment process was successful, in my opinion, and the only reason this happened is because Aq couldn't deal with his friend not being selected. I get it - you want to play with your friends - who doesn't? But the whole team needs to be happy with the recruits, not just Aq. We're all in this together.
I can't foresee myself playing a game with Aq given the messages exchanged and his attitude overall. I've played with A LOT of people on these boards and to be frank, my patience for something like this is quite thin. As someone who GMs games regularly, I know that all it takes to make or break a game is one player. Having to constantly ensure he isn't cheating just adds to the pile. I don't think I can move past what I've seen and continue to play with or run a game for Aq.
I wasn't a fan of the character assassin from that came on *blanks* side.
As for this whole this thing, I'm just annoyed that *blanks* character was just crunch. We all wanted characters with good backstories as well as mechanics. If I gave in a character that was incomplete I shouldn't be picked, there are general rules we must follow. It's not my friend not getting accepted, so what he wasn't picked, but he gave a finished product which is what we all agree is the main criteria.
I know I've made mistakes with rolls, is it wrong yes for sure. After playing in more than one game and reading guides it kinda made me realise what a piece of s@+$ I've been. I realised it was s%&%ty, but I given up crap. I would like to add that I don't read other peoples spoilers. The extra dice thing, sure but I've stopped that some time ago, the spoiler tab is b@!#~&&%. Also I'm sitting here wondering if it was such a problem which it was, why didn't anyone kindly send me a pm? I haven't acted on any player knowledge, this I learned when I first played years ago.
As for the *Dm* thing, I do believe what I said. I went to *a Dm* because I believed *a Gm* potentially kicking me for not agreeing with him would be very unreasonable. I even told him I would play, I made it very clear that I'm not a PvP kinda quick trigger wild card. The "co-dm" was because I help, whether that was trying to push to game or run around and send PMS to missing people or what not. It got *a certain character* back into the game. *a Dm* has said himself he's an absent dm, I thought if I could help in anyway, that would be a good thing.
At this point I just want to play, if you guys want to have my character killed, I understand. He could easily get keelhauled. I would rather you guys give me a strike, I think it's easy to tell that I care about this game and believe it or not all the people in this group.Sorry for the unneeded drama. I'm willing to forgive and forget, we all make mistakes. I'm just sorry that I was too stupid to realise mine.

And Aq you missed part of my post where I asked you not to name names. Please edit it out, if only for my sake.
Also, I will say I do appreciate you Aq. You have helped me along, and do not take this as me attacking you, or Red attacking you I am sure. Disagreements happen and we just need to air them and deal with them.
I hate confrontation either, but I also hate not staying behind my opinion - so, here are my thoughts.
- Lack of background annoys me as well. However, considering the poor recruitment we have and other aspects, I think we made the best choices. They fit our needs, look like pirates and are not excessively minmaxed.
- Regardless if I agree or not with choices, Tide and Red are the GMs and it says something. It says they're doing a lot of work for everyone 's fun and deserve respect.
- It's hard to come out in the open after being called and recognize their mistakes, and I think the whole experience teaches us all a lot and, for Teiidae, even more. I applaud you on recognizing your mistakes and trying to take it all maturely. With that said, for the health of the game, it's better if Aq is gone. I wouldn't want to keep Bleepos in the game otherwise.

My bad. You say and I understand your sincerity. However this has the making of a kangaroo court, not saying names.
I can appreciate and respect your decision for anonymity but in my case it was too late, as I saw the original, unedited, post. I apologize for being the bone of contention but in my defense I began working on a background when my daughter came up to me and told me she wasn't feeling good and then ran off to the bathroom to throw up, you can understand how that would take priority.
Kragor was re-skinned from a being a Brawler to being a Ranger to better fit your party's needs and in doing so invalidated most of his original background. Backgrounds are something I take seriously, sometimes sitting in front of a screen for a couple of hours typing and retyping until I get it just right.
Unfortunately my daughters bout of the flu threw that into disarray and by the time I was able to sit down again and finish working on it recruitment had already closed and I had been accepted.
I'd like to say to you I'm sorry that your daughter was sick, I hope she's feeling better now. Sorry that you saw my post unedited.
As for everyone, call me a pessimist or call me realistic. It would appear that the rope on my gallows is short so to speak. Since I'm probably getting kicked out, I'd like to say it was fun playing with everyone, to the new players have fun.
If Tides group had an opening, I ask to consider him to me but that's probably not going to happen with all this. If I have a choice in AQ's final action, it would be that he wakes up early because of his curse, watches the sun rise and then dives into the ocean.
I am missing two people on Group One, that is true, and you could join up there, but I think Aqguazula would not fit with the party. They are sort of stuff Good / Neutral group. I would accept a new character from you though.
Group One is also on hiatus at the moment however, and they opted not to do as you have and try continue.

Kragor, you and Rennick were goth on my list and Red was happy with your character so regardless of of other people, we are both glad you are aboard. Aq meant nothing bad by it I am sure.
I'd be okay with Aq swimming away with his new Dolphin pal, if it comes to that.

If not we will talk, regardless we will wait for the outcome first.

Well I might not be leaving/kicked off the island. We still need to get one more vote. But if it's the will of the people, so be it. My fate is in the hands of the last voter and Tides.

ok, A couple of things.
fist I have been on both ends of situations like this. and it really sucks no matter what.
I really wanted to remain pretty neutral on all of this but I don't think that is an option.
Early on I was not very pleased with Aq as a character. (I had no issues with the player) he seemed a little too domineering. As for moving the game forward, I have to admit that at time my posting less than stellar but there were times I did feel a little left behind.
This really kind of bothered me a little. when I did have the time to post, many times it was reactionary to what already happened and there would nothing I could post to change any outcome. for me that really is not fun, it sometime would lead to even less posting.
then we have the PM's. these were pretty inappropriate. in fact they were worse than the PM's I have sent that got me removed from another game. This really was something I did not like and was counter productive to the fun of the game.
As for cheating, never really paid any attention to that. I was guilty of that in the past in other games.
Anyway I am babbling. As much as I would like Aq to remain, these things put doubt in my mind as to how much fun I will have moving forward.
As for the new players, I welcome you. I will admit that some were not my choice, but I have no complaints.
I wish it never came to this, and I hate having to make these choices, but sometimes it becomes necessary.
As a compromise should we institute some sort of probation? Or maybe double secret probation?
So what's the verdict in this witch burning? Probation or trial by flame?
This is my game so I am the one who has to pass the sentence I guess.
Aq, I think too much damage has been done already, with everything else and with this trial now, that if we put you on probation something else will happen and you will take more of a brunt of it than you probably should. For your own good and for the good of the group, your time on this ship is done. Send me a PM and we will speak about your options.

Fair enough, I wish all of you well and it hadn't come to this. Also I do wish you had the foresight to actually address something you didn't right away rather than wait till the end. If someone would of said something sooner, I would of changed. Tough titty I suppose.

I seem to have missed a lot! I'm on the Paizo site for the first time in a while, as I lost my job before Christmas and promptly forgot about a lot of my hobbies. I feel bad for dropping off the face of the earth as I did. I still have to focus on real life stuff for a while, but I'd like to say thanks to everyone - this was my first PBP and I enjoyed our roleplaying together. Happy gaming!
Now that things are solved and kicking again, let me repeat my welcome to the new guys. I hope you guys enjoy as much as I do! This AP is a blast. Our party is so far a more "neutral" one - there are some crimes here and there, some good deeds here and there, you know... But very much what the romance pirates are.

This game rocks. It's probably one of the games that I want to post the most. I love this little Goblin here, and this AP is really a ton of fun.
