Well, at first I was just going to go straight Fighter with the current archetype, but this one is just a must. Plus I get the choice of either a parrot or a monkey that acts as my familiar, how cool is that. Sea Singer is just too fun to pass up. So multiclass.

I ended up just switching my Int score with my Cha and lost my Knw. Eng. In the end, I'll have a 14 Cha which I'll bump to 16 later and so on. He'll be all about buffing of crew and party, but will also use the power of sea shanties to make the seas hell for opposing ships. Hurricanes, bad winds, and more.

There is ways to kick the addiction, you just need to look for them. Like talking to Sandara for help in losing the penalties.

ok looked into addiction rules.

each day you need to make the fort save.
fail=you suffer the applicable ability damage (depending on severity)
success=no change in status unless you have made the required number of consecutive saves.

moderate = -2 Con and -2 Strength these are always in effect when you are not under the effects of the drug or drink, these do not heal overnight and can only be cured magically or naturally after you make 3 consecutive saves (1/day for 3 days) the save DC is the same depending on the drug or drink as the original save to avoid the effects

If you are healed of the ability damage then have a drink it is another fort save or the ability damage returns.

These effects will stack with the fatigued effect from working if I fail that con check (which will be -2 str and -2 dex.)

So every evening if I fail the con check for fatigue and failed the fort save (or never got lesser restoration) Sasha will be -4 str, -2 dex, -2 con.


Okay. Well we can get Sandara to heal you and give you buffs to help. I don't really like those addiction rules though... I've always played it that, if you feed your addiction you dont suffer for it, like drinking through a hangover, and I think it works better like that.

Sasha is passed out from both fatigue and con damage from the rum and the addition effects (still a little confused on how we are handling it. I know we are doing a little different that the actual rules )

Fair enough, you've had some pretty bad luck with the ration. Even when I played a tiny bit of this book, no one got addicted. Plus Sandara was able to remove our damage pretty easily.

Wow, I was running it a sorcerer actually. I think we can all agree that while the developers work well on certain aspects. Lots of their subsystems suck:Caravans,rum rations and naval combat to name a few. They try at least.

On a side note for the Dm and for Sash,two hours we before the rest of you guys wake up for our job on day 6, Aqguazula will quietly wakeup Sash. It was for something I was meaning to do before but it got sideswiped.

As for the Rum, I'm gonna rule that as long as you drink rum at least once a day, till the addiction is kicked, you wont suffer the addiction penalty. Does that seem fair Sash?

I am good, just how do I beat it then? If I do not take it to try and beat it what happens?


You will take a -2 Con penalty. For every day you don't take it you will suffer an additional -2, up to a max of -10.

Is there a save to avoid the damage? and being Con damage, that fort save will progressively get worse each day without restorations.

good thing it is capped at -10 as I only have an 11 con.

still we have addressed everything except my question what save (if any)? how many and what happens if I make it and what happens if I fail? Also what is the DC?

Or do I just keep going till you say its gone? Also the first day will be the worse unless there is some way for Sandra to prepare that spell just by chance at first.

Out of curiosity, what's the exp for beating the bear?


The save will be a Will save, DC 15, to want to kick it and a Fort save DC 10. You will need to make the Will save to make yourself throw away the rum. Two consecutive Fort saves to kick it fully. The DC for the Addictive quality of it will be increased by +2 forever after. Don't make the save and you are Sickened for the day.

AQ: Everyone gets 100xp for the fight.

Then I will make a list of party loot, the items that Chandria wanted to put in the stash/locker before she got sick,"died",etc.

Along with the lost stash of Bleepos which needs to be found(finally a treasure hunt). For sake of archiving, Chandria and Bleepose's equipment will be considered party loot, which would include the such items like the his set of thieves tools and masterwork thieves tools.

I'm going to make a suggestion for the group, on one of the days instead of normal night actions we should have a "pow-wow" session. Just spend a bit of time roleplaying amongst ourselves, describing our characters looks, etc. It would make sense to do so anyways, we've reached the point in game where we're helping each other and not backstab one and other, so there is a trust amongst each other. I mean maybe this is just me here, but in character I have no real clue about any of your characters, so it would nice to explore everyone's stories. We can all still have hidden details and what not, I know I have mine. Build relations with one and other or rivalries, like Aqguazula is fine with Linnet and Sasha, however resents Dacota for insulting his birthright.

Besides, We haven't really interacted with one much aside from a few clashes and tiny posts.
