I've got no problem with skipping any grindy bits. Unless there's going to be something exciting happening we may as well take the alternating day/night stuff as a cut scene and move onto the meat of the story.

@Ghilda There are two ways. Either 1) give yourself 2000 xp on the "Journal" tab or 2) set your starting level to "2" on the "Configure Hero" screen (Ctrl-K).

Yep, and extras from things like favoured class bonus or Toughness.

I think I'm ready for second level, just got to choose my new spells known. Never played a spontaneous caster past 1st before, so this restriction on spells is new to me.

And since people have been wondering, here's a little information on the Rum ration.

I also noticed I'd been too soft and only given Ghilda 3 lashes, instead of the 6 it should have been. So next time I'll have to be extra nasty. :)

RUM RATION

Aboard many ships, half a pint of rum is distributed to each crew member at dusk.
The rum is staggeringly strong, and is often watered down to make grog. Characters drinking the ration are affected as though they had taken an addictive drug (see page 236 of the GameMastery Guide for details on drugs and addiction).
The rum ration is doled out more to keep the crew sated and docile than for recreation.
The penalty for selling or spilling the ration is six lashes, or six lashes from a cat-o’-nine-tails for a second offense.
Deliberately tipping away rum on board a crowded ship without being seen
requires a DC 10 Stealth check.
While on merchant or navy vessels rum rations are strictly limited, on pirate ships, crew members can often request more rum if they please.

Just thought - do I need to take the Rest night action to clear fatigue, or does it eventually go on its own? I'm still fatigued from 2 days ago.
