Markizio you can now post in the gameplay thread. Being so overjoyed at a ship arriving you meet them at the docks. (A2)
A new ship to be squibbed, clearly light on crew, The Captain and his officers are busily paying off some of the crew, an air of tension over the whole ceremony. Hands close to weapons and suspicious looks all around.
So lets have an introduction, describe yourself to them.

            Jane's two-cents about the loot.
We should first decide on how much to pay the crew, those who are not officers, then we should a portion to the Ship. Which would get the most of the money. That money is just for the ship, repairs, docking, painting, cargo, ect. After that we should decide how much, as a lump, should be paid to the officers. The officers, even the captain, should all make the same amount.
For example.
For a one week journey, the crew, if hired before hand, would make in-between 5c and 1.5gp.. round that to 1 gp a day to keep it simple. We sail for three weeks and have a crew of 5 people. That is 7gp a week for a total of 21gp at the end of the journey. We make 100gp for that trip. The crew is paid first. Leaving 79gp. Ship should get the main portiop, say 50%. 39.5gp. That leaves 39.5gp per officer. We will have 5 officers, so that would make about 8gp per officer.

I reckon we can probably afford to pay Rickety with the unit of plunder we have left, plus whatever leftovers we have from the loot. Unless anyone wants the shackles of compliance, for instance, he'd theoretically buy them off us for over 1000gp which would more than cover our costs.
I'd rather not sell any dissenting crew into slavery, nor do I really want Rickety as a "shareholder", so if we can pay him in treasure now I'd rather do that.
As for loot division, here are some suggestions (they are only suggestions, just to get things moving):
Potion of blur (party stash)
Potion of cure light wounds (party stash)
Potion of cure moderate wounds (party stash)
Amulet of natural armor +1 (Kung)
Bracers of armor +1 (Kung)
Potion of cure moderate wounds (party stash)
Screaming bolts (Jane)
Tidewater cutlass (Markizio)
Ring of protection +1 (Ghilda)
Rapier +1 (Ghilda)
Silver dagger, masterwork +1 ?
Mithral shirt +1 (Marnir)
Ring of swimming (Marnir)
Small eel hide leather +1 (Jane)
Small mithril shortsword +1 (Jane)
Small light crossbow +1 (Jane)
The rest of the assorted objet d'art we could trade to Rickety.

            Bracers of armor +1 (Kung)
These won't stack with the Armor that Kung is currently wearing (Chain that gives a +4 bonus vs the +1 bonus from these). Kung would definitely love to wear that +1 mithril shirt instead, but would not challenge his new captain for it either. ;)

Have you guys had the discussion on what 'sort of pirates' you want to be?
if not, I would like to participate in that discussion.
Would it be too out of character to have Markizio participate in that?
Can we set that up as the ship is being squibbed?
If you guys want, I can start that scene as Markizio tells you all why he was stranded here and answer Kung's question.
Thoughts?

A good point. You have a few thing to discuss.
1. What style of piracy you are going to undertake?
2. The name for your squibbed ship?
One more piece of advice from Fishguts. It would be a lot better for you to go pirating down here, south of the Shackles. In the Shackles you would be fresh meat for any free captain. Best to build up your reputation out of their territory, then head to Port Peril and apply with the Pirates council when you've made a name for yourself.

I hadn't really thought about how we were going to pirate. It's an important discussion I think everyone should weigh in on.
For my part, I don't want us to become indiscriminate thieves and murderers. Obviously piracy is mostly about beating people and taking their stuff, but Marnir isn't going to be into keelhauling or hurting innocents or taking prisoners. Killing enemy combatants is fine, as is taking their stuff, but killing for the sake of it or leaving people to die a slow death from thirst or starvation isn't the way of the Ulfen raider.
As for a name, I fancy something dragon-y. Something linnorm-y would be better, but it's hard to come up with a cool name with linnorm in it.

We could be The Sea Linnorm to honor our captain's origins.

            Re: Pirates
Kung is fine with—approving of, in fact—all the pillage that we want to do. Any violence that occurs along the way, well, why were you sailing in or near The Shackles if you didn't want to get raided, or weren't prepared to defend yourself? It's run by pirates, yo.
Kun is not okay with slaving, and will likely not be thrilled with torture.
Re: Ship's name
"Linnorm? Isn't that just fake story dragon used to scare kids up north? Is okay; just make sure it looks scary."
I don't think we can afford it yet, but that circlet of persuasion would help recruiting....

            Pirating
It seems like we are doing OOC so I'll add my two cents.
Markizio is fine plundering in the open seas but would prefer to target slaver ships and any ship with the flag of Cheliax (warships and/or merchant ships). So not so Ok with plundering other pirate ships or merchants other than those of Cheliax but I understand that times may be tough...
Prefer to just take plunder and NOT kill unnecessarily. If anyone enters combat then all bets are off. But he would not be OK with killing people who have surrendered.
Not Ok with raiding coastal settlements unless they fall in the above categories (slavers or Chelaxian).
Thoughts?

I would suggest that the captain gets a third; the rest of the officers a third split between them; and the crew a third.
So, that would split the current haul of coin as follows:
Marnir - 5 PP; 130 GP; 100 SP
Ghilda - 2 PP; 43 GP; 34 SP
Kung - 2 PP; 43 GP; 33 SP
Jane - 1 PP; 43 GP; 33 SPCrew - 4 PP; 129 GP; 99 SP
Since Marnir turned down a captain's share of the loot, and we now have specific guidelines for paying the crew out of plunder, where does this leave us for shares of the monetary loot, after paying Rickety?

Per Jane's recommendation, this is how I see the loot distribution (plunder is a different story - stand by for my thoughts on that):
Priority One - needs of the ship (repairs, squibs, upgrades)
Priority Two - crew (non-PC's)
Priority Three - cap'n
Priority Four - officers (PC's and Kyra)
With that being said, I'll roll over to Rickety's to get the ship squibbed, and then we'll split the rest shortly.

I created another sheet on the loot spreadsheet, and it shows that we have 836.3gp worth of stuff to sell (assuming Rickety buys stuff at 50% of value). Just an fyi.
COIN LOOT
14 pp
388 gp
299 sp
equals 557.9 gp
We're about 600 gp short of the 2k we need for the squib. Ghilda has 353 gp of her own, and I think that the rest of us (minus Markizio) have a similar amount. So, if we each put in 150gp, we'll have what we need.

Oops - forgot about that. Thanks!
So, new calculation:
Unit of plunder - 1000 gp
Loot to sell - 836.3 gp
Gold loot - 163.7 gp
TOTAL OF 2000 GP
