The sight of the man who will replace him as Hurricane king drives Bonefist into a homicidal rage and he slashes at Marnir in blind fury!

Marnir is surprised to find his hands slip from Bonefist, as though the bastard were greased. He slips but quickly regains his balance, long years as a seafarer giving him an excellent ability to stay on his feet. "Slippery bastard!" Marnir growls, moving slightly to let Kung past and taking a couple of slashes from Bonefist's sword for his troubles. He squares up, continuing his warchant, and hacks at Bonefist with his axe.

Kung steps around Bonefist and a couple of barrels, tapping his pegleg madly as he finally begins to see the end of things. He takes a brief moment to center himself in his rage, though, to make sure that his strikes count, and follows that up with a carefully-placed slash at the former Hurricane King's back.

Marnir grimaces as Bonefist's blade strikes home over and over again, blood beginning to flow freely from wounds across his arms and chest. He continues his warchant undiminished as he moves with Kung to attack Bonefist from as many angles as possible, the teamwork between Marnir and his mate smooth and effective.

Caught between marnir & Kung, Bonefist crumples after taking their savage attacks. Collapsing to the floor spitting blood and curses as he finally dies.

It's a lot of loot from him, and some writing from me to describe what happens to you now. So I'll give you the loot and do a proper post for your victory.

That's a lot of loot for PCs that don't really need loot anymore.

Marnir is grateful to feel the warmth of Niobe's healing soothe his wounds, and he relishes the look of confusion on Bonefist's face his mind is shattered by Cally's hex. Howling in triumph Marnir times his attacks with Kung's to hack down the traitorous pirate lord, his blood spraying across the wet gunpowder as Bonefist crumples to the floor dead.

Reaching down, Marnir takes the Hurricane Crown from Bonefist's head. He looks it over, feeling the power it contains course through his entire being. "This is it. This is what we've been fighting for, what we've bled for," he says, somewhat overcome by the gravity of what they've just done.

Niobe lets her hands fall away from Marnir and says, "But it comes with its own weight. The last Hurricane King forgot that, he forgot what it represents... it's the weight of all the Shackled Isles, encircling your thoughts, always on your mind. A shackle of its own kind."

"You've been a leader and a caretaker to all of us, my captain. Are you ready to extend that to all the pirates of the Shackles?" she asks. "Ready to fight for them, to defend them, to settle their scores and their grudges, and to celebrate all of their triumphs?"

"Put it on!" Kung squeals, so excited he actually uses all of the proper parts of a sentence to say it. "Put the crown on!" he repeats, clapping, as if Marnir might not have understood.

Once you have defeated the former Hurricane King, Marnir dons the Hurricane crown and uses the ability that only Hurricane Kings may do. Creating a portal from the sea caves to the open sea outside. One large enough for the Filthy Lucre to sail through.

The ships of your friends and allies approach Bonefists flagship warily at first, but flags, shouts and rockets are sent up as the closest see Marnir Saltvig wears the crown.

With Tessa Fairwind, Arronax Endymion and The master of gales backing you claiming the Crown and becoming the Hurricane King of the Shackles is greeted with acclaim.

The friends you've made along the way include many Free captains and you have a powerful majority on the Pirate council. For now.

The fate of the Shackles now lies in your hands. But the head that wears the crown can never rest easy, and the new Hurricane King must be ever vigilant if he wishes to keep it.

The Free Captains have already suffered one Hurricane King who rested too long on his laurels, and the Shackles have no shortage of would-be pirate lords who would seize the Hurricane Crown for themselves if given the slightest opportunity.

In addition, the defeat of the Chelish armada might elicit a more official response from the Empire of Cheliax-Druvalia Thrune's invasion was undertaken on her own initiative, without the backing of the Chelish government, but the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune might be unwilling to allow a bunch of upstart pirates to slay a member of House Thrune with impunity, and the new Hurricane King could find himsself facing the entire might of the Chelish imperial navy.

Port Peril and Fort Hazard are now under Marnir's control as the King. That leaves what to do with your island?

Tessa Fairwind is delighted in your victory and congratulates you personally, and warmly in private. :)

Arronax Endymion is also happy, you both cleared his name and dealt a savage blow to Cheliax. He is soon planning to gather a fleet and raid his former country while it's fleets are so weakened.

The master of gales congratulates you calmly, but soon returns to his mysterious activities in Drench port.

And with that we end Skull & Shackles. You have ships to pass out to your friends and loyal crew alike. Golarion will be watching the new King with interest in the coming years.
