Cheer up people. This is nearly all the grind over with. Now you'll have some action over the next few days to sink your teeth into.
On that note, diplomacy checks. It's DC24 if they're hostile, and 19 if they're unfriendly, unless you have a good chance I wouldn't bother. Failing by 5 or more worsens their attitude.

Data is sick and tired of being stuck in the ship.. He hid down there while the storm was on.

I love that Kung got a +2 circumstance bonus for face skills with the crew, partly because it was a cool roleplay moment with the crew, but also because it's essentially meaningless in our circumstance because it only offsets his natural -2 from Cha. Woo, everybody likes me! doesn't hate me as much!

Oh Ghilda, you just do not do well with this rum, do you?

Sorry guys. I am trying to post more often on the weekends, but this weekend was very busy. Friday nights are a black hole for me, where i am dragged away to the world of RL RPG, then Saturday and Sunday were busy. Monday was a friends farewell party. He is moving to another part of Japan and most likely won't be seen again.

Are hexes considered "spells or spell-like abilities?" If so, Kung has to resist them during a rage (as I just did). If not, he is fine accepting them. I've been poking through the PRD all day to find out, and I can't find anything that says for sure.

Got a small office set up at my place. So i should be active again on the weekends.

Marnir mentioned that I should look into spells to help us with sharks - I can't seem to find one. Any ideas?

I can't do that spell, unfortunately. Just rangers, druids and shamans.

Marnir, if you were to use your inspired rage, Kung could take 10 on these climb checks and make it up top just fine.
@DBH, is that something that seems like we could get away with?
Kungrusdak Nosvunkuk
I thought you could always take 10 on climb?
Marnir Saltvig
That's a good idea, haven't got quite enough rounds to get both Kung and I along the rope though. You can only always Take 10 if you've got a Climb speed or some other kind of special ability.
I don't think anyone claimed the rapier yet. Seeing as it's Besmara's favoured weapon, I think Ghilda should carry it.
Louisiana Jane
I believe you can take 10 for all checks, while not in combat.
Marnir Saltvig
You can, yes. I meant in combat, sorry.

Kung has no use for your pointy needle thing. :)

That's cool. Take care of your father.

Fun times here in Iowa - we're moving, and I'm on the road four days a week. Just slammed a few beers. Good night, and the slow pace is fine by me! BRING ON THE SHARKS/SHIPS/MONSTERS.

Welcome back. I have been having family troubles for the last few months. My Ex was being an arsh. Today, I am going over to try and see my 15 day old daughter for the first time. I've had to fight to get this much already. I'm afraid that this might be the only time she will let me see her without a battle. I've started a Fundraiser to try and get support for lawyer fees if that comes to pass. I am trying to get those I know to spread the word. If you guys could, that would be. Awesome.

Welcome back, boss. :)
Jane, that sounds terrible. I hope everything works out for the best!

Right now, I'm debating to start a fight on this ship as well... I just don't know if my character would beat her...

Really sorry about my lack of posting - I am on the road four days a week, and then we are moving to a new house (thirty miles away)...long weeks and weekends...
I used up my Divine Favor spell when GM cast CLW for me :)
Louisiana Jane
I am somewhat distracted with a new game. I'll post, so don't worry. :3

Thanks for controlling me, GM. We were out of internet all weekend during move, and then yesterday, I stayed home from 8-12am to meet the installer, who never showed. We are tearing Windstream a new one on Twitter, via phone calls and threatening to call the Better Business Bureau and the state utility commission. Such a-holes how they handled the mess.

Let's talk about this boarding pike. Kung is definitely interested in this weird weapon that reaches out to get people. What kind of stats are we talking about; is it even close to his greatsword?
GM_DBH
Boarding Pike of Repelling
This +1 boarding pike is an 8-foot-long pole topped with a tapered
metal spearpoint and a backward-facing hook, used to draw vessels closer together or repel boarders. A metal skull caps the butt of the pike. On command, a boarding pike of repelling can be extended as a swift action, giving its wielder a reach of 20 feet for 1 round. While the pike is extended, the wielder does not threaten adjacent creatures or creatures up to 15 feet away. A boarding pike of repelling can also be extended in this way to draw vessels closer together for boarding.
A Boarding pike is a piercing weapon, does 1d8 damage, crits on a 20 for X3, and can be braced to receive a charge.
From the Pathfinder player companion. Pg18.
Boarding Pike: A boarding pike is an 8-foot-long pole topped with a foot-long tapered metal tip. Boarding pikes look much like longspears, but the metal pike is designed to flow into the wooden haft, leaving no grooves, collars, or spikes that could trap salt water and cause rust. Boarding pikes are mainly used defensively, to repel boarding actions. The pikes are kept in brackets around the mast, so sailors can quickly grab pikes and brace them against the gunwale to repel boarders.

I vote for healing her and bringing her on as an extra helper. Since we, somehow, lost a crew member during the fight.
