The biggest ones would be flanking and AoE spells which fortunately we haven't been all that heavy on. But we want to make sure if we're using them, that we can still be effective and aren't always in a position of only hitting a single enemy or always ending up in a friendly fire scenario.
If you're comfortable with the descriptiveness theatre of the mind takes, I'm down with it.
Herzag
Yep, it will feel good to blow some wind into these sails again.
And thanks for the buff Neela ;)
On the subject of maps, I haven't weighed in yet, but Herzag may be one of the cases Rhialla pointed out - he isn't very optimized (heck one of his classes is Rogue :D) because I don't like one trick ponies, but much of his usefulness in combat will be about moving through threatened (or occupied) squares, setting up flanks and sneak attacks. So maps and positioning may be somewhat important for him.
HOWEVER, since 'Terrain will be a non-factor for the most part and for combat we'll assume you are in whatever position you want' - I guess I can call it right now and say he is always flanking - DONE! :D

DMTFY, format has been followed.
All, Letting you know that my ability to post will be a bit more limited beginnings today, 12/21 through 12/26 as I go on Christmas vacation. If my lack of posting during this time slows down game progress, please feel free to DMPC me.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
I'll update the format in a bit.
DMTFY
Since I believe AoO are resolved in sequence before the action that prompts them, I believe the -4 to his attack now means he misses me? =)
Even with a -4, He still hits =(
@GM NOTE: I need to know how you want me to use my Opportune Parry and Riposte ability? Do I need to declare it for specific attack actions, or can I try one after you have declared an attack upon me? I'm supposed to do it after the attack is declared but before the attack is rolled.
I know next to nothing about swashbucklers, you don't have to declare it before. We can do a tiny retcon and fix it OK?
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
I'm confused?
Ashlei is a bit out of practice with her rope swinging but does land next to the captain. The captain grins evilly and attacks
1d20 ⇒ 15...Hitting for Ouch: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
My AC: AC 19, touch 15, flat-footed 14
You only got a 15? And it still hit?
So I'm assuming he has much more to his attack bonus than I'm seeing?
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
He's the captain, it's a pretty good bet his attack bonus is probably higher than all of ours.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
Happy Holidays !!!!
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
Wow when we debuff we REALLY debuff
Herzag
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and wish a Happy New Year to all.
Holiday season wasn't as pleasant as I had expected with both my wife and youngest falling sick for the best part of it
I am getting back to it (again) during this week, and 'head on' during the next.
Thanks for the patience to all of you...
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
Same here actually
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Thanks GM!
But I get all my big 3 points back after resting...unless we plan another combat in-game today?
=)
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
New Level! Yipee!
Me and Herzag just joined so we have mostly just have our offical starting money (6000gp) for 4th level really, plus some we've earned over the last couple of months playing.
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Sooo...how are we doing HPs each level?
Roll normally or 1/2 HD +1, etc...?
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
BTW: I'd hate to see that magical Falcata go to waste. Anybody willing to take the Exotic Weapon Prof and use it?
Its basically a cool sword with a high crit range and x3 multiplier!
If I was anything but a flying blade, I'd consider it myself.
=)
Neela
The way we previously did HP was to roll for it, but you would always get a minimum of 1/2 HD on odd numbered levels, and 1/2+1 HD for even numbered levels. I'm sure some people probably have higher than average HP already thanks to that, so I think we should keep it that way.
HP: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Minimum=6
To answer the question about wealth, Neela has 1800gp and a bunch of scrolls. So pretty far under the expected wealth-by-level. Though I'm not really sure what Witches are supposed to buy for equipment.
Also, she's a crafter. I keep forgetting that, but if you want her to make something, I think we have quite a few days at sea.

Aaaaand I am seriously considering this, though I'm not sure I can fit the feat ;)
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
HPs: 1d10 ⇒ 5 +2/w Con = +7 HPs
New Feat: Point Blank Shot
At 5th level, a flying blade gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls when using daggers or starknives in combat. When a flying blade wields a dagger or starknife, she gains the benefit of the Improved Critical feat with those weapons. Additionally, a flying blade increases the range increment of a thrown dagger or starknife by 5 feet. The increase of range increment stacks with that of precise throw. This ability replaces swashbuckler weapon training.
Herzag
Hmmmm, we are both fighting with daggers - it's gonna be a tussle if the loot ever contains a decent one :P
Herzag
Ashlei, shouldn't you gain 8HP?
Half = 5
+1
+Con = 2
As per DMTFY's post above?
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
I can only use a rapier because it's Besmara's chosen weapon. That fear would be pretty expensive for me.
Nor bad as far as WBL. +1 Armored coat,Ring of protection +1,+1 Rapier and Besmara's tricorne.
Will level in a few.

I have a Tidewater Cutlass anyone of you can use perhaps, its just a one handed melee weapon.
The blade of this +1 cutlass (Pirates of the Inner Sea 18) is spotted with rust, and its basket hilt is cast in the likeness of a grinning skull. Once per day, a tidewater cutlass can be used to cast hydraulic push.
Tidewater cutlasses are not uncommon weapons among the pirates of the Shackles, at least for those who can afford to buy one or who manage to loot one from someone who can. Mr. Plugg acquired his cutlass from a seasoned old tar aboard the Wormwood who had the temerity to point out the first mate’s insecurities, and was beaten to death for his impudence. When more traditional discipline techniques prove ineffective, Mr. Plugg has been know to use his tidewater cutlass to “accidentally” push impertinent sailors overboard to drown in the Wormwood’s wake.
I mostly use the pike just decided to go with the sword this time for flavor. I can totally affored to exotic feat for the falcata if need be.

If that's how you all want to do it, that's fine by me
Also, she's a crafter. I keep forgetting that, but if you want her to make something, I think we have quite a few days at sea.
Here is how I do crafting, If you have the feat and have a day of free time, congratulations you have the item. No rolling. I find the crafting rules tedious.
Weapon Training: Would you consider the boarding pike a Polearm or a spear? Whichever one you think it is will be the weapon training i choose.
I'm not super familiar with the weapon masters handbook(so many books so little time), I could see a pike as a spear or polearm...Why don't we say it's both
Just to even things out everyone get yourself up to 10.5k minus whatever you bought so far
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Hmmmm, we are both fighting with daggers - it's gonna be a tussle if the loot ever contains a decent one :P
I'm mostly a ranged specialist and my main weapon is a Starknife. I think we'll be fine. Daggers are fire and forget weapons for me unless we find one that returns tot he thrower! Ashlei was just trying to show off in the last battle with all the melee...
Ashlei, shouldn't you gain 8HP?
Not according to the group... At odd levels it's only 1/2 Hit Dice min. No +1 there.
Just to even things out everyone get yourself up to 10.5k minus whatever you bought so far
I'm sorry, did you just give us bunch of gold to spend?
=)| Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater |
+5 hp
+1 BAB

2 skill points +1 FCB
Feat: Defiant Luck
2,900 left to spend
Boots of the Cat, Aegis of Recovery and Sleeves of many garments
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
If it weren't for the fact that it would cost a feat I'd use the cutlass. It's pretty Besmaran in description.
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
If we really get upgraded to 10.5K gold...
then that gives me 4500 to spend.
Let's see...
Add a +2 Bonus to my Mithral Chain Shirt? (4000gp) - I may get the 'Deathless' ability on the armor and just a single +1
Cold Iron Dagger (4gp)
Swan Boat Feather Token (450gp)
Total spent: 4454 gp
Randall McNelly
Just to even things out everyone get yourself up to 10.5k minus whatever you bought so far
And here I was having a hard enough time picking new spells...but no worries, I can find a few things that Randall could use. ;) Will get level up info and new items listed this weekend.
