Guess the Dice Gods don't want me to know. But complete ignorance has never stopped Skrelznit before.

Me knows exactly what is happening now-k-k-k. This called "petrifyeyed giant shark". Happens when giant shark eats so much regular shark he explodes-k-k-k. And bones become underwater cavern-k-k-k. Very rare, we is lucky.

Skrelznit does not really care which way we go first. SE is his vote if no one else has an opinion.

While Grauchi can't find the words to explain why Skrelznit is wrong, he can't offer a better explanation. He'll remain silent, focusing on staying above water instead. He swims towards to south east, keeping close to the cavern walls, in search of handholds.

Right now the Link "The Ship" is just showing the island that the party is on.

On the battle map each square is 10 ft. That is why your tokens are so small.

PewPew and Malicar:

You awaking in a pitch black room; only your dark-vision allowing you to see ribbed markings along the cavern walls.
You are tied up, sitting on the edge of the steep drop into the deeper part of the water that covers much of the cave. For a few moments that only things you hear are splashing sounds and the ringing in your head.

From the around the corner to the south-east you see four kobolds slowly swimming closer.
DC 20 to get out of rope holding you.

Mopsank Grauchi Skrelznit Sassarra:

As you turn the corner you see that the walls of this small cavern display strangely ribbed markings. Deep in the back of the cavern looks to be two kobolds tied up.

To the east you see another tunnel that looks to turn north.
As the caverns are all pitch black, you only have dark-vision. Dark-vision is in black and white. So with the Perception checks I rolled, you can't really tell if one of the two is Quinn or not.

"How do we trust them? Could be tricksy magic pretending to be kobolds."

Do I have my possessions on me or nearby?

Malicar almost cackles with glee when he sees a group of kobolds coming to rescue him. His voice is hoarse and scratchy as he speaks in Draconic, deep for a kobold. "Malicar thanks you for freeing him," he announces with a grin. He rubs circulation into his veins as the ropes come off, tingling pain shooting down his arms. In the pitch darkness, the color of his scales cannot be seen, but the lean, muscular kobold looks like he has been burned alive in a great fire, his scales cracked and charred. "You're hunting 'Squiddies?'" he asks.

At Mopsank's question, he scoffs, snorting a puff of flame from his nostrils. "Malicar is dragonkin. There is no greater proof of heritage than mine."

"You owes us now. Maybe you helps us find our friend and takes over the ship from tall man that tooks us here. Then you is frees to do as you pleases, yes? Maybe even sticks togethers afterwards?"

Skrelznit sees that none of the new kobolds are Quinn.
He sees that tied to the cavern floor, under the water, is a large bag.
He also can see that under the water is a 2nd floor made up of metal bars, 18 in. apart, mostly covered in seaweed.

Skrelznit and Sassarra are able to get the two free. But they don't see their possessions nearby.

DC 30 to see something is moving under the bars.

Malicar grins proudly at Mopsank's mention of his scales. "Malicar is blessed by dragonfire. Once, I was Dragonspeaker of the Bloodscale clan, who served the mighty wyrm Thryymvranax. She bathed me in her breath, and her fire burns in my flesh still." Native speakers of Draconic can tell that 'Thryymvranax' roughly translates to 'glorious inferno who consumes the dawn' - a characteristically grandiose dragon name.

At Grauchi, he asks, "Take over a softskin ship? You should start from the beginning. Tell Malicar how you came here. And what in Dahak's Breath are 'squiddies?'" His jaws snap hungrily. "Are they as tasty as they sound?"

"Dragonspeaker... that sounds like a lofty title. Perhaps we do trust you. For now, at least."

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

With a glint in his eye, Mopsank dives down to try and get what might be a hidden treasure.

Sassarra will head down to see what Mopsank is after.

"What did you find?" Malicar asks after Mopsank seems to spot something in the water. Shrugging, he dives in after him, a surprisingly skilled swimmer for a red-scaled kobold.

Grauchi is wet enough as it is. As the rest dives down, he's keeping a close watch on the new "recruits".

"Maybees you tells us first how you came heres?"

M Kobold Gunslinger (Bushwacker ACF) 4

"Pew-Pew not sure?"

As he relates his story he begins patting his body and around him on the ground, blindly looking for his things.

"Pew-Pew was scout for tribe. Pew-Pew good scout. Find things, use little lightning far off to scare tall ones. Take things they drop. Day come little lightning not work. Tall ones not get scared. Use bite rope to take Pew-Pew on float wood. Say strange things in Tall one words....SLLLAH-VERY?...Pew-Pew not understand."

His search becomes more frantic as he is not finding his things.

"Pew-Pew think long hard about how to escape. If little lightning not work, maybe Pew-Pew make big lightning. Think hard hurt, but big lightning come and tall ones get scared and jump off float wood into wet. Pew-Pew lose control of big lightning and it hit float wood. Pew-Pew sleep and when wake up head hurt and here with bite rope again."

He appears to be in quite a state by now. He is on his hands and knees, searching every inch of the ledge that the party found him on.

"Where are things? Have you found things? Where is Pew-Pew bag? WHERE IS LITTLE LIGHTNING?!"

He looks to be near a panic attack, and is certainly not helping with any stealthiness that the party may be trying to attempt.

Mopsank and Sassarra swim down, 5 ft, to the bag and bars. As the reach to grab the bag, two claws strike past them from under the bars.
Attack on Mopsank: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Attack on Sassarra: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
half of DMG: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

They missed you and are stuck under the bars.
The bag is still there tied to the bars.
If you want to start combat you all go 1st. As they can't reach you.
They have cover from you, and you have cover from them because of the seaweed.

You can also try something else like reflex or sleight of hand at the risk of them slashing at you.

Sassarra will stay out of reach and zap the creature behind the grate repeatedly. You don't want to be caged up when there's a storm brewing.

Male Kobold Unchained Rogue 3

Mopsank doesn't bother with whatever's down there. Instead, he just tries to snatch the bag and get away.

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

What ever is under the grate pulls back hiding under the seaweed from Sassarra's bolts, while Skrelznit unties the bag with Mopsank taking it to back up.

In the bag you find Malicar and PewPew's equipment.

Male Kobold Unchained Rogue 3

Mopsank looks in the bag and furrows his brow in frustration.

"I was hoping for treasures..."

He tosses the bag over to someone else.

What does the party want to do?
