Kishara |
Kish looked back over her shoulder, flashing a grin around the narrow picks she had clenched between her teeth. It was nice to be appreciated.Kel smiles as he watches Kishara work, a solid mix of amusement, admiration, and interest all playing across his face.
There really is nothing better than watching someone skilled at their task going to work on it, is there? And, she's splendid at it, to boot!
Agraic is still moving at a reasonably brisk pace despite the load he's carrying. "Don't expect me to sprint, though. That's straight out." Fast Movement does not apply -- with Kishara's bag he's into a Heavy Load -- but he's still moving decently enough.
"Sorry about that. I suppose I should have packed lighter, but you really never know what you'll need on a mission." She quickly rearranged the packs so nothing too fragile was in the sack to give Agraic the freedom to drop it as needed. Was hoping it would't put you into a heavy load. I really need some muleback cords, but I think that item has to be unlocked via chronicle.
***Kishara looked perplexed by the pyramid before them. Unsure of how the thing would move let alone attack, she moves up, drawing her shortbow and firing an arrow at the odd thing.
Fire Shortbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
Spiked Gauntlet Confirm?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Aw... poor Rarity!

That, or a handy haversack. See above comment. Ironically, the character I'd used Expedition Manager on to get one? In a subsequent module, one became available. *facepalm* This isn't that character.
Aw... poor Rarity!
Thus further proving Friendship IS Magic.

Eleanor will supply another pony.
Holy moly. I am just going to try to keep it in place for our ranged types to deal with. Hope to save allies from the dozen damage per hit. . . Pony 1 lived by 1 hp.
Kel Na' Yaa |
Kel, surprised at the sudden lurch of the pyramid, draws his longbow and lets loose an arrow.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Wha-- That thing just walloped the hell outta your horse! Bring it down quickly!
He then moves forward, dropping his bow and drawing his rapier.
Please move Kel two squares directly in front of Kishara. Thanks!
Agraic |
Pony is Large Agraic, and still very much in the way, so you'd need longer reach :(
OFFS. There's nothing I can do here, is there? I can't retract the action, it's been declared. I can't advance because the pyramid is ALSO large and would have reach. I can't withdraw without exposing the rest of the party to attack?
Agraic |
Disregard - had another look, Pony says Medium - a Horse is large, so you are fine :)
Agraic steps in and strikes the object with his Guisarme. There are a lot of sparks as it hits, and some masonry cracks away... not as solid a hit as he'd have liked (Hardness)
Please accept my apologies for expressed frustration. This character wasn't built to be a lore-monster, trap-finder, etc, but a low-tier beatstick (and apparent pack mule =P)
Kishara |
Seeing the arrow plink off uselessly, she puts her shortbow away.
"Call the ponies back and out a bit after they hit it... I need a little space to work with." She said as she flexed her knees, clearly limbering up for something.
If we can get it to move away from the wall, I think I can get behind it. Maybe even get the door open, definitely provide flank and hopefully use my sneak attack.
Kishara waits for her opening and sprints forward, moving through the ponies and leaps up over the pyramid, performing a somersault and landing on the other side, shortswords in hands.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
Kel Na' Yaa |
Kel will move to flank on his turn.
Henrick Bulwark |
Henrick will approach it as soon as there is an opening.
Kel Na' Yaa |
Whichever comes first. Either way, He'll try to flank either with Kish or a pony

My Little Pony: Flanking is Magic?
Eleanor Savet |
I will hold actions until you all do your thing, then fill in flanking positions with ponies. I don't have an infinite supply (just 4). Mostly trying to keep the damage on the things that disappear anyway.
Henrick Bulwark |
I am sorry - but I am confused. According to the map, it looks like 1 square = 10' (not the usual 5'), and that this large pyramid is not flankable because it is up in front of some doors. Two ponies seem to be blocking anyone without ranged or reach attacks (which would be fine, if we had any that appeared to be useful). If the ponies are doing damage, I say we all just buff up or wait until they have done their thing - I don't think we have a time limit on number of rounds here, do we?
Shifty |
The squares are 10' that is correct, it is a really big pyramid. There would be some room to squeeze behond as the doors (cant be!?) as thick as they are marked on the map, so if you can get back there somehow... the ponies are probably going to get creamed pretty quickly, so this is probably a chance to buff or plan around that- hope that helps! :) You are not on a timer....
Eleanor Savet |
Pony attacks are irrelevent, even on a critical success, they will result in lower numbers than those already inflicted by party member. For the sake of argument though. . . ."
Pony 1:

Agraic |
This is the first time I've had a chance to play with this build, so please feel free to point out huge gross conceptual errors! Also, that's the 'non-penalized AoO' versus the penalized one.
Free Action: Enter Rage +4HP(temporary, lost first), -1 AC (Guarded Stance), +2 to hit, +2 damage, +2 Will saving throws
Guisarme AoO: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 142d4 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 + 2 = 12
"You THINK YOU'RE ALLATHAT?" The half-elf's words sort of fall into a coarse roar as he swings the glaive about in front of him wildly!
Kishara |
Kishara slashes as the pyramid quickly moves away from her with a bewildered look on her face.
Shortsword AoO: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 2 = 29 Damage, DF, SA: 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 + (5, 1) = 9
She watched in horror, unable to stop the thing as it bowled over her companions. Desperately, she turned around and scrutinized the door, her violet eyes wide with panic. If I don't get this door open, that thing will steamroll us all into jelly!
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 (+2 more for traps)
Disable Device: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27 (+2 more for traps)
First checking for traps, if she finds one she will set to work disarming it. If no trap, she will see if the door is locked and pick the lock if it is.
Henrick Bulwark |
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Ugh.
Shifty |
Kishara's slash mostly bounces off, only leaving a cosmetic chip - this thing needs much stronger hits to damage...
Kishara looks at the doors, there are no traps she can see - but also no locks - the heave stone doors are going to need significant brute force applied and will need to be pulled apart... they are firmly wedged shut.
Agraic |
Didn't realize second AoO was an option, but... sure! Let's do this! Already taken the full damage for doing it, so might as well.
Guisarme: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 - 4 = 182d4 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 + 2 = 12
The guisarme wielding half-elf has gone completely flipping nuts, whaling on the pyramid with his weapon ferociously!
Agraic's in a bit of Rage atm. Agraic's player acknowledges the message and as soon as he's done with his mad-on for the annoying construct he'll be right over! *fingers crossed*
Kishara |
Kishara hisses a curse in elvish that sounded positively scandalous with her Chelaxian accent... brute force was the one thing she most definitely could not bring to bear. "Agraic! We need that crowbar! And some muscle!"
She got ready to aid the attempt to open the door, but knew she was not going to be able to contribute much.
Aid Str Check: 1d20 ⇒ 10 WhooHoo! +2 to Opening door

Kel rolls back onto his feet, and draws a vial from his bandolier.

Are you KIDDING me? Ugh!

Shifty, I made a whoopsie. I GM'd Crypt of the Everflame, and applied the GM credit to Kel, but when I did, I only gave him 1xp and 2pp, instead of the normal module XP and PP. What should I do to rectify that? I did the same thing with Murder's Mark too...
Agraic |
The berserk half-elf grips his guisarme a bit more tightly, eyes bugging a bit as he steps up and takes a much heavier swing at the thing!
Guisarme Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 212d4 + 6 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 + 2 + 3 = 17

Its no problem.
You have just shorted yourself a bit.
You have probably applied 2xp and 4pp, it should be 6xp and 8pp.
Add the 4xp in which will put you up a level (possibly two if you were just short of a level) and fix your character sheet up accordingly (go ahead and do that now - all good)
The reporting of the events would have been ok, its just your math at your end has obviously been a bit off :) For the module and the campaign you are still ok, because you will still be in the level range for both.
Kel Na' Yaa |
Kel is fixed and sheet is updated. He just spontaneously became level 3 for no reason.

Seeing that Agraic is currently occupied, she called out to the dwarven fellow as she struggled to make some progress with the door. "Henrick, I can't... quite... get it... Help!"
