Mogmurch sniffs the arrows placed in his hands with a disdainful look on his skull-capped face.
"Mogmurch make things go boom, not stick them with pointy feather-sticks. Meh..."
He sniffs the air and listens for the flap of of bird wings and aims for the second flock.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Fire Shortbow: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 8 - 4 = 21
Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 35
Just thought I'd stroll on in. ^_^

Chuffy is first to draw and shoot, nailing a bird!
Poog does the same - also striking a bird!
Poog, no need for the -4, they factored it in... notionally
Mogmurch fires off an arrow - 1d20 ⇒ 1 but only hits the sky, many jeers and booing!
The crowd now awaits Retas arrow!
Chuffy 2
Mogmurch 0
Poog 2
Reta TBC

Mogmurch Boom*boom |

All the other entries were assuming a low roll was the miss, high hit - so I rolled with the trend... did you want a reroll on clarification?
No -4
No need for that, I'm just particular about wording. If high is good, I'd call it a "hit chance". =P

Poog fires off an arrow...1d20 ⇒ 191d3 ⇒ 3 - RETA screams in surprise! Reta takes 1d4 ⇒ 4 damage.

Mogmurch is confused by all the commotion when his arrow flies 1d20 ⇒ 3 and it ends up in some long grass, drawing only booing and teasing.

All good. I had a look last night before bed and it was showing you as a non-active player on the campaign management tab. I ticked you in manually which seems to have done the trick :)
The arrow flies off 1d20 ⇒ 13 and into the crowd, causing a lot of yelling and shrieking - but no blood split.
Mummy cries out 'CHUFFY THE WINNER!"
You remove your blindfolds to reveal a bunch of dead birds, but also a crowd peppered with arrows and the injured being carried away.
Once you have recovered and high-fived each other...
The second dare takes the contestants and the crowd to the west, where a particularly low valley has subsided into a permanent swamp of nasty standing water.
A failed attempt by the Birdcrunchers to build a bunch of huts on stilts has left behind a haphazard arrangement of wobbly posts protruding from the boggy ground. Wooden planks across several of these posts, creating narrow bridges that stand 10 feet off the ground.
Mummy explains "You all begin on the southern shore of the bog and are fitted with wide, clumsy, stinky long-legs human boots. A stirge on a 5-foot-long rope is tied to each of the red posts. The goal of this game is to kill as many stirges as possible - preferably by stomping, but any method of stirge killing is
allowed - without falling into the swamp below"
Details:
Any goblin who falls into the swamp before the end of the first round is disqualified.
Human Boots: The big boots the goblins wear are cumbersome and reduce the wearer’s speed by 5 feet. In addition, the goblins attempt Acrobatics checks at a –2 penalty while wearing the boots.
Planks and Posts: Each plank and post is 1 foot wide and slightly unsteady. A successful DC 7 Acrobatics check is required to move along a plank; a goblin falls if she ever rolls 5 or less on such a check.
Mummy looks at you all to see if you are ready, you are all trying to stick on the ridiculous oversized boots. Mummy holds a Thunderstone, waiting for your agreement before starting...
Questions? If all good I will map up and initiative down shortly :)

"Chuffy be balance hero now."
Should we post all attempts at once on this, or one at a time like the last one?

![]() |

This one is a 'map down melee' - the creatures will be fighting back. 4 Goblins vs 12 stirges, winner is the one with the highest kill rate.
I suspect I might put an arbitrary limit on the number of rounds as I found the other group slowed down to a bit of a crawl and protracted melee of this nature seemed to kill the mood a fair bit - especially when we had one Goblin hit the mud in the first round and thumb twiddle as a painful fight drew out :p

Poog mumblez a few things for Zarongel, perhaps a spell!

Chuffy stands on the solid ground and fires his hand crossbow.
Hand Crossbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2 at the furthest stirge.

Mogmurch Boom*boom |

Mogmurch sniffs the long-shanks boots and his lip curls in reply. These Bird-Crunchers do wrong-headed things... Why wear silly boots and stomp things when there were such more fun ways to kill nasty biting flappies?
He schlumps out awkwardly onto the plank and mixes secret liquids and powders with quick fingers and flings the freshly shaken bomb toward the only stirge that was right next to another one, only just far enough to not splash Reta, cackling with glee when the bomb goes BOOM!
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 - 2 = 12
Throw Bomb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 11

Mogmurch hurls the bomb and with a WHOOSH one of the Stirges gets deep fried. Wild applause breaks out and much cheering!
Reta smacks a stirge, but it doesn't get smooshed - it flaps now very unevenly!
Chuffy uses his small mind and beady eyes to aim his mini crossbow at the same flappy and stops it flapping.

Dang! We only get one point for killing a stirge when hitting a bird or a goblin was getting 2 and 3? Mog doesn't have a snowballs chance in Zarongel's mouth...
Mogmurch doesn't need to move, but he dances in place trying to show the Bird-Crunchers that dopey boots don't slow him down as he mixes next bomb. Seeing Reta has been latched onto by the foul flappy, he decides to help her out.

Poog pulls out a special stick and aimz it!
"Now feel love of Zarongel!" he intones as he aims his wand of Fireball to catch a good chunk of the stirges in the blast radius without hitting any of the former Licktoadz!
Fireball: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2) = 12 Reflex save for half damage
If Zarongel's Blessing needs to be moved so folkz can see the area it iz hitting before hand, go ahead, just make sure it gets back for Poogz turn. Poog aimed nicely!
