Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
"Great! Let's get going. I'm light - where do you want me?" Sakuro asked. Weight distribution was important on boats - even she knew that - and she seemed perfectly willing to go wherever he told her to. Always listen to the experts, yeah?

Nia'Nikta |

Nia'Nikta would stroke her horse's head. While combat trained they didn't often need to use a barge to cross rivers or wide bodies of water so this should be interesting. Swinging up into the saddle.
Ride: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
It was clear her attention was elsewhere as she completely bungled even getting into the saddle. Having not accounted for the fact she had adjusted the straps for Jun she got up, swung her leg over and missed the other strap and kept going landing flat on her back. Stunned for a moment she started laughing. Her horse just turned his head looking at her and started munching on grass without moving.
After recovering from her laughing fit she would get up readjust the straps. "Must remember to check these before I mount when others are riding." She murmured out loud before swinging back up and trying to get her horse to move onto the barge.
Ride: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Nia'Nikta |

Nia sighs and untied the scarf from around her waist and moves to his head gently stroking it. Running her fingers over his eyes gently getting him to close them before wrapping the scarf over his eyes to blind him making him rely on her to guide him.
She slowly guided him onto the boat.

Auric Lightmane |

Seeing that his efforts to aid Nia were in vain (and with growing concerns about the way things are developing), Auric steps back away from her and her horse looking around the dock (where he is still standing) for ropes or long sticks in case it becomes necessary to fish anyone out of the water...

Just to clarify: the horse has realized that it's terrified of this little boat, and refuses to board. I did allow a ride roll - but that failed horribly. It's now more determined than before.
Animal Handling might change its mind, but I get the feeling nobody is particularly good with animals.
Shall we move on?

Nala the Wanderer |

Oops thought this was in discussion! So, the options are sedate or stable, if I'm not mistaken?
If Sedate: Sleep spell is a good option! (Or calm animals if you have it!) If Stable: I'm sure you can trust the townsfolk around here; you're a hero, after all!

Nia'Nikta |

I didn't want to waste to much time on taking it back being stabled and such. It was originally kept around for Alyra and Jun. But if it won't take time then Ill stable it. Its a war trained horse so figured a boat wouldn't be to far fetched for it.
She would turn the mount around. "Ill be back guys. Ill get him stabled up."

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko nods, and gazes toward their destination.
Something tells me that whatever it is we are after will be there when we get there. I don't believe a small delay is going to alter that.

The captain poles the little craft into the lake, then the crew breaks out the paddles. The crew is nothing but two boys, just into their teens at best, likely his sons. They maneuver the craft around, and head south.
Glisten lake lives up to its name - far enough in the distance, it looks like liquid silver. There are always ripples, but never any waves.
The captain takes a paddle, and sits in the bow, guiding the boat with measured strokes, and slowly, the boat picks up speed.
The trip looks like it might take an hour, if that.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro will be wherever the owner tells her to be for balance purposes - possibly near the middle. She's fairly light either way, and shouldn't affect it too much.

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko would probably be on one side or the other, appreciating the beauty of the lake.

Everyone else is surprised as the barge suddenly shudders and tilts horribly.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 1
I'll need Acrobatics checks for everyone, DC 12.
Failure means you're falling, and in danger of going overboard. A DC 10 Ref. save will allow you to grab the edge before going over. Anyone who made the Perception check gets a +2 on both because they had warning!
I'll roll for Auric and the crew later - pressed for time.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Sakuro just barely managed to keep her balance - being towards the middle of the ship probably helped, and she was actually a fairly healthy girl overall. "Waaaaah, wh-what's going on!?"

Auric: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Crew 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Both Auric and the oldest boy lose their footing, but manage to grab the rail, rather than go overboard.
Tentacles slide up over the siderails in several places, some grabbing the craft - others seeking targets!
Only those not surprised can act. (Only Baldek, I think.)
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Bad-Luck Baldek |
"Me and ships!! Why can't I never get to go from one shore to the next ON THE SAME DAMN BOAT!!!" roars Baldek as he charges the nearest tentacle to sever it clean!
Rage round 1, PA, Charge, Sudden Attack (1 MP), AC is 16.
