Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro threw another burst of magic through the air, targeting the dwarf right after he'd been struck by a nasty-looking blow. She couldn't retroactively change any of that, but at least she could try to stop him from being hurt any further by the creature's blows.
Cast: Shield. Target: Bad-Luck Baldek, who is living up to his name. 2/6 1st level spells remaining.

Antonio Nedraid |

Round 4_____________
Still fighting defensive.
Antonio waived his cape offhand to distract the creature...
Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 vs enemy Sense Motive.
Success means attacking Flat Footed AC.
Flank sword attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 23 for a possible 1d8 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + (3, 1) = 12 slashing, cold iron and precision damage.
IF vulnerable to crits, ...Crit confirm?: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 12 for a possible extra 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 slashing, and cold iron damage.

![]() |

Wow, there is another possible crit. I missed it. Yes, you're right, it does normally need to grapple. I missed it on the first round. I'll do a grapple check, but in that case it also bites. Sorry, time has been an issue.
Reiko confirm?: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Extra Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Grapple Auric: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
Grapple Baldek: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32
Grapple Reiko: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
Thanks to grease, nobody is grappled!
(also, nobody gets drained!)
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Nala the Wanderer |

And you misread his! Those were additional actions he'd forgotten in the previous post! :)

Auric Lightmane |

Wow, that's a relief... I was starting to think maybe Baldek had the right idea... did I take any regular damage from the bite?
"Baldek," Auric shouts, "get healed and get back here... Мы должны распространяться свои нападения . Я не могу выжить достаточно долго, чтобы получить исцеление , если его только нападать на меня !"
As he speaks, Auric shifts to maintain a flanking position and swings his sword hard at the creature again...
flanking PA: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33, for: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (3, 1) + 14 = 18 ignoring DR, plus: 1d6 ⇒ 4 if an outsider

Auric Lightmane |

yup, duly noted :)
and, sorry I forgot to post a Fort save
Fort: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
As his sword cuts into the beast again, Auric summons forth healing power once more...
lay hands: 1d6 ⇒ 3
5 from Alyra plus 3 from LoH leaves me down 2 from this round.

Nia'Nikta |

EVERYONE! Don't forget you have +1 insight bonus to AC, attack rolls and saving throws against exceptional, supernatural, and spell-like abilities
Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Nia'Nikta felt the stench roll over her as her eyes watered and she drew her shield moving into a defensive stance to aid Auric. Though she was unsure at all if her aid could help at all.
"Obviously this thing stinks but hold strong. Target where the glitter dust is concentrated! Keep fighting Defensively."
Maintaining Bardic Performance
I dont know what the particular effect will be so ill wait to roll on the aid another to see if I have action to do so.

Reiko Arashi |

Sorry for my lack of posting, work got hectic. I'll post last round and this round tonight when I get home. I'm at dinner with the wife currently. :)

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro winced as she caught a distant whiff of the thing's smell, but she was just out of range and intent on keeping it that way. Instead, she hurled a protective spell towards Auric, who seemed like he was in the most danger at the moment. She was quite pleased with the way her grease spells seemed to be helping, though... "Antonio, I'll get a shield up on you in a moment, so hold fast until then!" Sakuro called out.
Cast: Shield. Target: Auric. 1/6 1st level spells remaining.

Auric Lightmane |

Everyone has acted in round 4 except Nia (who is waiting to hear if she'll lose any actions after failing her save), Reiko (who said he was going to post for rounds 3&4 on Sunday but must have had something come up), Aya (who hasn't posted anything since round 2), and Alyra (who I think Baldek ran to for healing). Sakuro casting shield on me will be the beginning of round 5 when we get there...

Reiko Arashi |

Round 3
Reiko stands his ground, and concentrates for a brief second, causing crackling blue lightning to dance all over his blade. He speaks, but briefly.
Kill it quickly! This is most dangerous foe we've faced yet!
Concentration to Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27Against DC 16
Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Shocking Grasp: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 4) = 11
Standard Action to Attack, Spellstrike with Shocking grasp enhanced by trait. Sorry for taking so long, a few things came up.
Round 4
Reiko continues his dance at the creature's feet, with two more attacks, one delivering another blast of electricity.
Concentration to Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21Against DC 16
Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Shocking Grasp: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3) = 9

Aya Yalandlara |

Round 3: Force Missile ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 for potential force damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 spell resistance: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Round 4: Force Missile ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 for potential force damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 spell resistance: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Auric Lightmane |

Alyra and Nia (who's still waiting on save results) are the only ones not caught up now... Reiko's first casting of shocking grasp should have discharged on that hit (but necessitates a roll to overcome spell resistance); the one he cast mid round remains 'charged' until he connects or casts another spell.
Once Alyra (and Nia, if able) acts, round 5 begins with Sakuro casting shield and then everyone else (including the monster) goes again.

Antonio Nedraid |

Round 5_____________
Still fighting defensive.
Antonio waives his cape offhand to distract the creature...
Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 vs enemy Sense Motive.
Success means attacking Flat Footed AC.
Flank sword attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 - 4 = 20 for a possible 1d8 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + (4, 3) = 15 slashing, cold iron and precision damage.

Auric Lightmane |

we really aren't quite into round 5 yet... Waiting on GM for results of Nia's failed Fort save (and I think at least one other person, Antonio maybe) plus Alyra's action (Baldek, I think, is really hoping for/needing some healing)

Bad-Luck Baldek |
Badlek, noticing his companions do not follow him in retreat, turns on his heels, exhales loudly, then runs back into the fight, hurling forward like a madman towards the undefeatable creature, yelling profanities at the creature and his comrades.
Raging and charging: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 2 = 171d12 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Auric Lightmane |

"If anyone has any means of making it visible again, we could really use it!" Auric shouts swinging his large sword with everything he could at the area where he knows the beast to be...
Goldar, guide my strike, bring judgment on this depraved creature!
flank/rage/smite/etc: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26, miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 89
for: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (3, 4) + 14 = 21 ignoring DR, plus: 1d6 ⇒ 1 if an outsider
edit: Praise be to Goldar!

![]() |

Anybody that failed the roll vs. stench (DC 22!) is sickened and takes a -2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.
Auric does connect again, as does Reiko with his attack on round four, and it obviously flinches as they get splattered with vile, blackish blood, but it seems more irritated than hurt.
Ok, into the top of round five:
The monster is invisible again - once the glitterdust goes off, it'll be visible again, but anybody attacking before Aya will suffer a miss chance.
It chuckles madly, and attacks:
Auric: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Reiko: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Reiko: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Baldek: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Antonio: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Once again, Alyra pulses with positive energy: Father, use me to heal these heroes!
Everybody in melee heals: 6d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 4, 1, 5) = 17 points of damage.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Round 6.
Sakuro sent one last burst of shielding energy through the air, surrounding Antonio with a barrier of protective force.
Cast: Shield. Target: Antonio. 0/6 1st level spells remaining.
That was quite literally all the energy she could throw out today - from that level of spell, at least, though she did have cantrips. She also had her bonded item, which would let her cast one final first-level spell... she'd just have to decide which one to use. "I'm almost dry!" she called out, making sure the others knew she could only offer so much support - though the shields protecting the combatants in melee ought to help until the end of the battle. ...Hopefully.

Auric Lightmane |

I've hit this thing for 78 damage that ignores all DR, plus another 15 holy damage if it's an outsider... and Antonio and Reiko have combined for another 17 (potentially minus applicable DR)... if its "more irritated than hurt" after all that I think maybe we need to think about some other approach... Any ideas?

Antonio Nedraid |

Round 6_____________
Shifting out of defensive, and swallowing down his nausea, Antonio lunged to the attack again.
Antonio waives his cape offhand to distract the creature...
Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 vs enemy Sense Motive.
Success means attacking Flat Footed AC.
Flank sword attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 2 - 2 = 21 for a possible 1d8 + 2 + 2d6 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + (6, 5) - 2 = 19 slashing, cold iron and precision damage.

Auric Lightmane |

OK- it looks like Reiko is the only one who hasn't posted in round 5 yet... round 6 starts with Sakuro casting shield on Antonio, and Antonio making a pretty solid attempt at possibly hitting the creature. I suggest we all post round 6 and Reiko can double up like he did before.
"Alyra, this is not going very well... is there any advice or direction at all that you can offer us?!?"
Goldar show favor to your servant...
Without any apparent alternative Auric hacks at the beast once more.
same attack as last round: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33, for: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (5, 3) + 14 = 22
plus: 1d6 ⇒ 5 if an outsider
lol- that puts me at exactly 100 base damage I've done to this thing...

Reiko Arashi |

Sorry guys! For some reason I thought I had already posted!
Reiko's attack follows up Auric's, his katana weaving gracefully.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Shocking Grasp Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) = 10

Nia'Nikta |

"We can kill this thing. Don't lose hope! Coordinate your attacks on the same spot. Weaken it by striking the same area."
She maintains her performance swallowing down her bile as she herself tried to strike at the creature.
Atk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Round 5 Action if I didn't post one its hard to tell

![]() |

Reiko has found some purchase, as well as Auric, and at this point, the glittering shape surges toward Alyra.
HHEEALLLERRR! Yoouu hhaavve beeccomme tooo mmuucch trrooublle!
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31

Con: 1d4 ⇒ 4
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29

Grapple: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26
Con: 1d4 ⇒ 4
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Grapple: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34
Con: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Attack: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Alyra rapidly shrivels under the horrific onslaught.

Alyra |

Ahhh! Beast, though you may slay me, you have brought on my final purpose!
Alyra is suddenly gone, her jewelry dropping to the ground where she once was - only a mist remains, otherwise.
Tendrils of the mist move decisively toward each of you, and you find yourselves breathing in the moist air that was, a moment ago, your ally.
I give to you all, all that I was, so that you might realize all that you might become! You must seek out the Stream of Heroes, on the Isle of Life, and drink from the source!
Everybody heals completely, spells are refreshed as if you've just prepared them, and you are all now Mythic Rank 1!

Auric Lightmane |

ouch!
I'm pretty sure it's surrounded... does it leap/fly over us? Or overrun someone? I believe we should all get one AoO for the movement; and if it did overrun i think, probably, anyone with combat reflexes would get a second?
As the beast pushes past them to charge Alyra, Auric takes advantage of the opportunity to strike while its defenses are down...
AoO: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32, for: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (2, 3) + 14 = 19
plus: 1d6 ⇒ 4 if an outsider
"Alyra!!!" Auric shouts as she vanishes... As the mist wraps him and fills him with power he mutters, "your sacrifice shall not be in vain, nor your death unavenged!"

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
"ALYRA!" Sakuro cried. She clenched her fist a moment later, then a series of magical missiles shot through the air and towards the murderous monster. There were more of them than she would normally be able to cast, but right now, she was focused on just one thing - bringing down the enemy as fast as possible. The longer this battle was drawn out, the worse things would be, and she'd already cast numerous protections on her allies.
Wild Arcana: Cast Magic Missile at +2 CL. 6/7 Mythic Power remaining.
Magic Missile Damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3, 3) + 3 = 12

Nala the Wanderer |

In fairness, being within 30 feet of a guy on the other side of a giant doesn't leave you much room to prevent 5-foot-step noms. :P

Reiko Arashi |

I just found out I should have been rolling 2d6 damage all this time. Now that Reiko has gone Huge, I think I'm supposed to roll 3d6. Eldon, the rules don't say what to increase the dice to for huge...[/dice]
Round Six:
ALYRA!!!
Reiko's eyes widen at the beast's display of power, and at the demise of Alyra. Her final words to him bring a red fog to his mind, and a rage borne of helplessness.
His eyes burn red. His muscles bulge. His mouth opens in a silent scream and suddenly lines of red energy course all over his body, following his spell scars, and seeping into his skin. He grows again, this time nearly as large as the creature he's fighting.
[ooc]Swift Action to use wild arcana to cast mythic enlarge person.
DARL' AK NA' WULD!! YOU DIE TODAY!!
His following attack is wild, devoid of the usual grace he fights with, but the blows are powerful.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3) + 6 = 19
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4) + 6 = 15
Shocking Grasp: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 1) = 11

Nala the Wanderer |

Wild arcana is a standard action. You also can't use it on anything that takes longer than a standard action to cast. It was errata'd, because apparently getting a +2 caster level, quickened spell, without the need for preparation of said spell, on a pool that refills daily was -way- OP. Also, 1d8->2d6, 2d6->3d6. :)
