A wind howls up out of nowhere casting snow into the air. The flying reveals forms all around which choose that moment to begin screaming as they do their twisted rictus faces become visible. They are the trapped souls of those who died in this and they have come to collect yours. Just ahead of you is one last vision of the girl screaming in pain and terror you see her body lifted up by unknown magic and a glowing mist ripped from it. With her final anguished wail the wind dies instantly and the figures fade.

Aric you are frightened for 10 rds Thorgrim you are shaken for one. I hope I painted the image well for you guys.

The dice hate you. You missed it by one the first time then I drop the DC by four and you still miss. Lol. Oh well I'm sure the next thing to dare get near you in combat will reap the rewards of your bad dice karma by being criticaled to death.

Okay for the sake of time Thorgrim falls back to the party either way I still need that save. And the party waits for Aric's return. Which happens in about two minutes.

The knot lies quiet now its energy depleted but you can see it slowly gathering again. There trapped in the center of a web of necromantic power is an image of the girl you sense this is not her soul but an impression of it. Fed from where ever her soul happens to be trapped. It looks like it will be ready to spill forth again in a days time to haunt those who trespass here. As it is it appears to have had the effects of a scare spell on Aric. It should be safe to bypass now though its ultimate destruction would require freeing the girls soul from whatever torment she is enduring.

He is, bit not for much longer I think. Whoever did this is using the soul of that girl to fuel this trap. We are lucky. It was only designed to scare trespassers away. It could have been much more...severe. At any rate it should be safe to pass now. It should take probably most of the day to reset itself.

Thorgrim you see that the hut isnt as big as you thought instead it stands on stilts. Stilts carved out of living trees to look like chicken legs.
