I thinks we need to remember that level 1 characters can quite easily be put in our place when we start stomping around like we call the shots. Just a thought.
On another note did we just trade the new party member being manhandled for an exile/death sentence in her home country?
This game's taking on a life of it's own...
Derika don't know she's level one yet....LOL. She sees something she considers to be an injustice being done and she can't abide by it....she's also never been very good at keeping her opinions to herself....another of the many reasons why her Captain sent her on this mission alone.
He was trying to get her out of the shell she had placed around herself. She has some real.....anger issues...but it's really a matter of perspective. She knows this girl will never get a fair trial and she doesn't trust them. She knows all to well how "accidents" happen and if Jerrica really was a traitor she would have been put to death immediately....so that begs the question....why wasn't she?
There is so much more to this, and whether Gath is behind it or not....Derika will get to the heart of it. Yes we are going to deal with the keep and all that entails, but we have a very sick princess on our hands and I believe she needs to be taken care of first. I'm not sure she can survive another failed fort save.....
This is not something that Derika will decide without consulting the rest of you though. Maybe we can somehow stave off the disease till we get done with the keep.....or until we can get her somewhere...."civilized" Lol
Again though, that's something the entire group needs to decide. Derika don't care who doesn't like her, but she wouldn't put others in danger needlessly. She just gets all fired up....and well....there ya go.
This type a character is a little outta my bubbly element....so I'm trying to do the best I can. There was stuff about her background that I was trying to save till later....but I guess it's gonna come out a lot sooner than I thought with all these new developments.

I twisted wrong while taking care of my patient last night, so I've got pain shooting up and down my back all the way up into my neck so once I stretch, take a shower and some medicine I'll be hitting the sack for a while I hope.

I wouldn't be too surprised to find I don't have a country next time I try to set foot in it Derika, you essentially just declared yourself an enemy of the military, which might be interpreted as kill on sight.
Maybe....that's not exactly what I was going for....but it all just came bubbling out. It was never a choice for her, they pretty much made her what she is...aside from all the anger issues...those were there from the get go which is how she ended up there in the first place.
This is what I get for trying to play something that's totally outside my nature. I don't feel like there's a balance....she's super defensive and that's not a good thing. Add to that her history with these people and all the hard feelings and it's like a bomb getting ready to explode.
If I'm gonna keep playing her as a person with a dark and somewhat messed up past....I need to learn how to incorporate balance into it.
I guess what I'm asking is, do I need to try and shift something somehow and how do I do that?
It's something you're going to have to figure out as we go along. Good characters aren't set in stone as soon as they're drawn up, they grow and develop over time.
Yikes! Now we are enemies with the nation. I go to bed and when I wake this happened. Whoa, where's my ancient silver Dragon when I need her?
Of note, Tanna never threatened anyone, she was just trying to keep anyone from being hurt or killed. Holy cow Derika, what have you dragged me into today? :P

It's true it is something that develops with time. I haven't fully gotten a handle on Vishanti as yet either. Also, this is a perfect opportunity.
Most people who rage at everything and throw their weight around learn their lesson after someone with more power refuses to put up with it. Up until now, Derika's gotten away with how she acted and mother off to people because she's had her commander in her corner. Now maybe she's crossed the line and been cut loose. No better way to learn to consider the consequences of your actions that being smacked upside the head with said consequences.
Doesn't mean she gives up being rage driven, it's the class you're playing after all, but learn yo point the rage at things that genuinely earn it rather than anyone in authority because authority are all bastards kind of thing.
It's an opportunity to grow.
That's just it though....he basically told her that he considered me dead and would tell the Captain that....which doesn't prove to Derika that she was necessarily wrong....but that maybe she could have gone about it a little differently.
I think eventually we'll figure out what his big secret is that he's trying so hard to hide....but until then she'll go about getting this town cleaned up and make sure the people here aren't being terrorized by the Military. She'll find a way eventually to get word to her Captain of what really transpired and everything will work out one way or the other.
I think being cut loose from the thing that...maybe added to a lot of her anger...might not be a bad thing either. It's something that will sort itself out in time. Even if everything gets sorted out....I don't think she'll be going back to Military life. Not after what she saw here today as well as the scars from her past....that I was totally not gonna bring up till way later....Lol
I think my pain medicine is finally starting to kick in so I need to go lay down and try to sleep. If I have to sit with another sitter patient tonight I'm gonna need all the energy I can get. While taking care of my one sitter patient last night I think I twisted wrong or something cuz that muscle I hurt last month ended up screaming at me. I was over him applying lotion to try and keep him from scratching his dry skin and I just kinda twisted and then there was searing pain all the way from near my booty bone and around to my hip and then spread through my lower back all the way into my shoulders and neck. I think it'll be alright though. Gonna get rest now though...tired brain is tired.

heh... been there, done that... last night in fact.
I don't know.....I think I'm getting nervous about leaving the hospital that I've been working at for the last five and half plus years. I know that I can't keep doing it....the fact that I can hurt myself that badly just doing something simple like twisting the wrong way proves that....but I still feel....I don't know. It's all kinds of confusing and complicated.
I think that's been what's really bothering me the most lately. There's other stuff....but it's mostly trivial.
Change is something that's never been easy for me....but, sometimes it's completely necessary even if I fight like hell against it, sometimes going against what my body really needs. Then my body fights right back and it turns into this vicious and endless cycle.
I keep doubting myself...wondering if I'm doing the right thing and yes...slightly panicking in the process. Henry tells me I'm doing the right thing that they would just use me up until I'm completely broken if I let them. But....I haven't done anything else in so long, what if I can't? This type of work is all I've known for like officially that last 10 years with my CNA license....but I've been caring for people way before I ever had my license in one capacity or another starting from my early 20's when I dropped my entire life in CA to come out to AR to take care of my grandmother who was beginning to develop dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Then after she passed I ended up working in a home for the mentally and physically disabled.....so, I just kinda don't know where to go from here.
Sorry, don't mean to unload. Whenever I talk about stuff I just feel like I'm dumping it on people or something. I'm not feeling good, I should try to lay down on maybe the couch. The acid reflux isn't making things any easier in the sleep department either.
I love that song, was actually singing it in the car on the way to work. X loves singing it, and I don't really have a problem with that since I'm ok with him growing up with a real concept of things rather than the whole stick figure BSWell....my phone is still kinda crapping out every now and then. I don't know what it's issue is....maybe overuse? Lol
I got the Meghan Trainor Cd with my favoritist song on it....well, my favorite for now. All About That Bass. Finally....a pop star that doesn't look like a five dollar whore, who actually sings about real stuff.
We'll see how long it lasts....I think a lot of them actually start out this way. She's from MA though and seems pretty real.
I got so intrigued by her I watched an actual interview with her on YouTube and she said at one point in the interview that her own father told her something like he didn't want her to get her hopes up because he didn't think she had that "certain look", well...during the interview her producer came in and surprised her with the news that she had taken number 2 on the charts and she started crying and called her dad in the middle of the interview to tell him.
I really hope she continues to be a positive role model. Her other songs are pretty good too...but, I has gots to say that's already my favorite. Lol
Although Dancing with the stars totally redeemed that song.
That was a really awesome dance number. I'm hoping I don't miss DWTS again tomorrow night.
I've been sleeping through them lately though....*sad little sigh*

That's crazy, 4 with no tank could get slaughtered like this.

*Hangs head* I.....havent actually slept yet. My other character, Arista......she prays twice a day as well as in combat. Its okay.....I usually just go off of what she's feeling in her heart. They can get a little longwinded though.
