Seeing that it's been a couple of weeks, I'm going to open up recruitment for the game so that we may continue.

Tosom/Tanna: I'd like for you guys to have some input on the new recruits. Just browse through the recruitment thread attached to this game and pick three good candidates.

Since Tosom is a bit here and there, Derika thought a third might be handy.

Also because I wanted to show his portait off~

No problem. For first arcane Sorceror is definitely easier than Wizard. Ive's seen people in live games once they get up a few levels stare ath thier prepared list and just go blank, lol.

I know....me too. I'm wondering if part of this is due to being subjected to christmas music BEFORE Thanksgiving while we were at Wal Mart today. I was just filled with a sudden and horrible urge to hunt down the manager and beat them to pieces. I'm sure that's not a good thing, or at least looked down upon...but I can't help how it makes me feel. They use the music to subliminally get people thinking about the holidays and thereby spend more of their hard earned money on useless crap. I just don't like how consumers are being used. I'm really weird and sometimes say crazy stuff, you'll get used to it. I promise. Lol

If I get too crazy though or say something that bothers someone then please say something to me, or I'm bound to say it again and probably often at that.

I really like....people, certain people anyways, so I don't want to upset anyone accidentally or otherwise. Usually when I'm like this or really really tired I'll just say stuff without considering it. Like I have NO filter....at all.

Okay, the babbling person is now shutting up.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 9/9 | F +3 R +1 W +5 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Channels Remaining: 4/6

Heh... I don't mind it as much right now (given we are at least close to Thanksgiving) as compared to hearing it the day after Halloween.

I more dislike the fact that some people try to substitute gift giving once a year for geniune caring for their friends and family yearround. Which is not to say that I don't like giving/receiving gifts this time of year. It is just that people try to make it more than it should be, and that annoys me... because by doing that the also make it less than it really is. If that makes any sense.

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

Oh no....we totally get it. I'm so sick of my family asking me what I want. What I really want to say is, "How about a family that doesn't treat me like crap all the time because I don't live up to your ideals of what I should be?" Sorry....that's kinda heavy, but it's how we both feel. Henry's mom is always substituting spending money on him or us as a way of getting out of dealing with real issues. It's something we've struggled with for a while and I finally told her off yesterday.

It's just...I don't know. My general attitude is what you see is what you get, don't like me, fine, you don't have to. I guess that's pretty messed up too though and the way my family treats me is proabably my fault since they've been like this my whole life I just...sorta let it happen.

Some straws were broke this year though and I've basically told my family this years we aren't getting anyone anything and we don't want anything from any of them so don't bother asking.

Okay...shoving those thoughts away now and locking them up again. *click*

You goyim should consider yourselves lucky. I have to put up with all the Christmas music without anything to show for it. :P

Awe...I'm sorry. But that's kind of it ya know? It's not about the "stuff", it shouldn't be about the stuff. That's why I don't want stuff and I'm not giving stuff. I mean, things have been rough this year and that might be playing a small part of it...but really, it's because my family has become wayyyyy too materialistic and I'm tired of them treating every single thing like a competition. Who can spend the most money, who can put up the most decorations, who has the most cars, ect ect ect. It's just ridiculous and I'm tired of being made to feel that my worth can be put into dollars and cents. I'm more than that. It's taken a really super duper long time and some pretty amazing people to make me sorta believe that though. I still have trouble with it though, especially when surrounded by my family which is why, along with other various reasons, we are working every single holiday this year.

Okay really, I promise no more ranting for today. Whew....Sorry....sometimes once I get started it's hard to stop. For some a lot of this is just repetitive cuz I talk too much.

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 9/9 | F +3 R +1 W +5 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Channels Remaining: 4/6

Hm... well, here would be my suggestion (take it for what it is worth: maybe half a cent, if that).

If you really are tired of that kind of materialism, but want to do something to celebrate the holiday, maybe take some time to work for one of the charities that helps the less fortunate. I don't know what you have in your neck of the woods, but many churches at least will try to feed the homeless or deliver meals on wheels to those who can't get out as much as normal. It would be in keeping with the real spirit of the holiday and might do some good for those who need it as well.

Another thing you might consider is making gifts for each other. Paint ceramics, for example, or some other craft. It won't be perfect... that is part of the charm and the point. Oh, and I would definately say that writing would fall under that category.

For Orym... well... you might not celebrate the birth of Jesus, but the above about service I think would be in keeping with the old covenant law (both what is written and the spirit meant by it). Charity properly practiced is not the sole property of any one religion, ;)

Male Half-orc Zombie Lord Bloodrager (Primalist) 1 [ HP: 17/17 | AC: 17 T: 11 FF: 16 | F: +6 R: +5 W: +3 | Init: +1 Per: +7 | BR: 6/6 ]

It's not like I don't do tzedakah or anything - I just have to put up with the stupid awful Christmas music without the family get-togethers and stuff that make the holiday neat.

Whatever, I get the day off work and I sleep in like a boss, and then eat chinese food with my parents. A valid trade, I think.

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

I don't have issue with other people celebrating and I have about a bazillion cards that I will write almost a book worth of note in. It's just...this year has been super hard from the get go. I'm just not feeling it this year. I work in a hospital where there are really needful people. I may gripe, vent, b+@&+, extensively from time to time about said job, but I love helping people. My body is not loving it though.

I'll still send out the cards, which numbers around 100 or so by the time I include all my family, friends, and even my coworkers. I give of myself 365 days a year to the patients and families that I care for. I love the idea of charities though, and this year I think when my nut job of a sister starts pestering me for ideas, I'm gonna tell her and everyone else instead of getting me gifts this year to take that money that they would spend on junk and give it to one of their local charities or church.

There are many many people who are far worse off than we are, and I see it every day. If a patients family member is hungry and without money for food or anything, since our Hospital is state run they don't provide a lot of things for patients families, so I'll usually get them something to eat from our little cafe downstairs, or barring having time for that I'll at least try to scrounge up something from the nutrition room. For a hospital that's supposed to be all about compassion, they're not very good at showing it.

I got chewed out by a unit secretary one time because I took a woman who's son was dying off the floor and outside where she could breath and calm down. She was on the floor hysterical and crying and everyone else was just stepping over her. I don't know....I'm just weird.

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

@Orym That seems perfectly legit to me. I wish my family was way more low key. It just turns into a circus every year, and every year it gets worse. I've just decided this year that those aren't my monkey's and I don't need to be there.

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

I swear on all that I hold sacred to my heart, that I was totally intending to go to bed today. Working nights has it's advantages, but every once in a while I have a day, like today for example, where I just can't get my head to shut the Hell up. I've got a lot on my mind and I just can't sleep.

Then of course I get sucked into looking at things because I'm curious....and well 20 minutes turns into 30, 30 into an hour and so on and so forth. Now it's 4:27, I worked last night and have to work tonight too....I am gonna be in so much s&@& it's not funny, except it kinda is. I get disaproving looks I'm sure but really, what's anyone gonna do? I'm a grown ass woman and if I can't sleep I can't sleep. I'll be tired as all get out, but I'm used to it really. There have been times I've gone days without sleep when things are ya know, so yup I'm nuts. Resident whackado reporting for duty. LOL

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

Oh toys for tots. I forgot, that's something that we do every year.

Totally off topic, but I think I love Meghan Trainor. I love the fact that she is real person, that sings about real things. Really very inspiring.

Okay, I know I'm a teensie weensie bit spastic at the moment. I will do my breathing and try again to get unexcited. Lol

Definately been in that boat before. My job has me sometimes switching shifts, though hopefully that will cease for a while.

Just make sure you have some orange juice with your coffee and you will be alert enough in the "morning".

And wouldn't say you are weird... just possibly working for the wrong employer or in the wrong job. (shrug) which is a lot of the working population, truthfully.

M Elf Evoker 4 [ HP: 30/30 | AC: 14 T: 13 FF: 11 | F: +3 R: +5 W: +4 | Init: +5 Per: +2 ]

Jobs can be OK. It's the bosses who can make them hell.

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 9/9 | F +3 R +1 W +5 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Channels Remaining: 4/6

(shrug) I am a firm believer that 90% of satisfaction with working comes from having a job that matches your personality type and interests. Retail (for example) requires that you have a somewhat extroverted personality type to enjoy it, even if you do well at it and have decent benefits (read: not Walmart). The bosses, the location, the customers... all of these can fluctuate and can be great, horrible, or average. At the end of the day, if you don't enjoy doing the thing you are doing (whether because it requires you to go outside of your typical Briggs-Meyer personality type or because it just doesn't interest you) you could have great bosses in a wonderful location making better than average pay, great benefits and loyal/awesome customers and still not be happy.

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

This is all very true.....it's a university hospital that I work for though, and it's just complicated. I love helping people, I really do...it's just that since the new chancellor took over it's been more about them trying to make as much profits as possible and less about anyone's......satisfaction? I think that's the word I'm looking for.

They talk about comfort, hope and healing....but at the end of the day it's all about the bottom dollar and they don't seem to care who gets hurt along the way.

I really wanna help people, but I don't think that's the right setting for me....but getting out of it feels....almost impossible since I never finished college and just sorta got stuck in a routine.

My real goal is to go back to school and get my BSW so I can help people in a therapeutic setting, not a I'm killing myself and barely doing any real good way.

The patients can be scary sometimes too....but more it's the Mega Corporations that the hospitals have become that are the problem.

Thanks for listening to all my rambling today. I tend to talk....a lot. I don't know why....

Female Half-Orc Bloodrager 7 HP: 84/84; AC: 17,T: 10, FF: 16; Fort: +9, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init: +0; Perception: +10

I'm happy....but I'm not happy. Does that make sense?
