An early and recurring character locally is mostly just called 'Cookie', he's a chef (Alchemist, with foodstuff potions/infusions). Wields a light mace 'Slaydle' at times. This cast-iron bowl is designed to be heated in coals, then dipped into batter to cook bread 'dishes', or to be filled with food and set in coals to cook a small portion. (potion?)

I have a great idea for a goblin monk character
So, apropos of your character pitch (which literally made me 'laugh out loud'), have you read Richard Pett's Goblins!? It's a hoot. Your proposed PC sounds like a character in there, Moaris of Miffed.

@Richard: Lol! I actually have no idea how you would even know Joana mentioned it in this game thread. There are only about, oh I don't know, 8 billion game threads and, yet, here you are! Lol! Oh man that's just too funny. :)
Joana's right. I've actually read that one myself and I gotta give Pett his props. Didn't realize you could actually like so many goblins. :P Pretty funny stuff. And the fact that you haven't read it, Zeta, is pretty awesome because you nailed it. Pretty cool.

How do the grapple rules interact? Could Gris get Braddon out of that grapple? Stick the stave into the claw held open around whatever part of Braddon it has, and kick it back toward the joint? Or do the rules keep Gristav in his own lane?

Joana |

The problem is that you're not in a position to threaten the grappling reefclaw; if it were reefclaw 5, I'd let you roll a CMB to "disarm" the reefclaw of Braddon, but it's 3 that's got him.
The other "classic" way to help people out of a grapple is to cast grease on them, but it doesn't look like you have it prepared.
You can always just try to kill reefclaw 3, and it will release him on death. Reefclaw 5 that would otherwise be threatening Gristav is grappled by the web and cannot make AoOs.

Gristav |

G would have to enter B's space to strike O3...
What about Drag Braddon, and move to the space(?) beside Tendal, AM47?
Given that O3 is webbed(grappled), would dragging Braddon break O3's grapple?

Gristav |

Heck, Gris' is a 16, Braddon's gotta be better... But he's weakened. And the reefclaw's little, but probably optimized for this, but Web and Grapple is reducing both their AC...

You're overthinking it. Just go with the plan. When you come up with a clever plan, the dice gods help make it happen. :)
How did I go through ten years of PfRPG without noticing this blatant contradiction in the core rulebook?
Escaping from a net or an animate rope, command plants, control plants, or entangle spell is a full-round action.
Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check.
I guess because I've never played or GMed for a druid.

Meanwhile, Web calls for a Standard action. :)

Even if it has, the (each) splatbook will have something just a shade better/harder/different. There's people who buy to get that 3% powerup, and no company yet has left that money on the table.
So it may be scrubbed clean, new walls, fresh paint, now, but I'd bet against that security deposit.

Javell DeLeon |

Hey, Zeta, there's another out there if you're interested: HERE. I've tossed my name into that one but just as an fyi, he's a new GM. You just never know about new GM's but I figure what the hey, I'll at least give it a go. There's only like 13 or so folks so far in that one. And odds are I won't get picked for that one which gives you even greater odds of getting in! BOOM! :)
While back in the day I rarely ever got picked, I actually haven't signed up for a game in years due to just flat out not being interested. And to be honest, every game I'm in now, is as a replacement! HA! I just checked that. That's too funny. Oh Javell, always the bridesmaid never the bride. :P
But I figured I'd at least take a shot at trying to get in a 2E game.
Yeah, sorry Joana, but I wasn't about to jump in that explosive thread of yours. Not that I didn't want to, mind you, because you are a top-notch GM. But with 789 million people applying to it and my serious lack of ability with creating "backstory" - which has been my career undoing of recruit threads - I figured my chances were "none to none". At least in the other thread it rises to "slim to none". :P
And look at it this way, you don't have to feel guilty about not picking me, huh?! Huh?! In a way, I'm helping! You are welcome. ;)

Phillip Hargreaves |

That was my intent yes. Re-reading over I may have overestimated the amount of light available - but happy to keep to the same plan.
Phil's the stealthiest of the party - so makes sense he takes point. He will be attempting to discern if there's any land-squids / walking stabby beasts around more by ears than eyes.

ZetaGilgamesh |

Zeta, I am just sick about not picking your goblin monk. He's hilarious, and I would love to run a game for him; but I couldn't make him fit with either party. :\
Holy crap. I didn't even see the messages in this thread until today! What is that...a week later. They just popped up as new for me.
I get it, its no big deal. He is a very solid character in my mind now. His personality and mannerisms are squirming around looking for a chance to play. I will have to make the character sheet for him though.

curses!!! I just got notified about this message! :(
I bet its a zoo already.

Haven't had time to catch up on past events, so still a little lost. But I'm playing Braddon, so there's little incentive to get a clue :-)
That's where I was with Nuveril in Legacy of Fire. Every time Dan posted an exposition dump about the history of the Templars or whatever, I didn't even click on the spoiler tag because Nuveril certainly tuned it out. ;)

Devil's Elbow - Skymetal - Tidal wave - Blot
Mainly the speculation of whether the skymetal might be connected to the blot. I'll leave it fallow for now until there's more IC reason to connect the pieces.
The older posts are both a gold mine and a bottomless shaft as well... many old names and encounters tucked away in there.

You know, Gristav, per levitate, it's really not clear. It says you cast it on a specific something or someone. It never says a thing about carrying someone.
But I would say, if you can carry a 20lb rock with you, why can't you carry a 695lb man? ;)
Seriously though, it's just not clear. And that annoys me. Don't know why they couldn't have included that somewhere. So to avoid about 832 posts in our discussion thread about whether or not it should work, I just say we tie a rope around him and pull him up. It all works the same. It gets the job done and that's all that matters.
But it does bring up an interesting issue about levitate. Guess it doesn't matter anymore now though. Ah well, que sera sera.
@Gristav: Also, loved the "Think happy thoughts" line. Yep, I didn't miss it. Gotta kick out of that one. :)

I can't cite chapter and verse, nor even edition or system. But locally, we fall back onto, paraphrasing, "Snake can carry how much?" and "Does the spell otherwise limit?"
But your toon, your way. Or Joana's way.

Braddon Hurst |

HP for 4th level: 1d10 ⇒ 8
Okay. Braddon takes a level of Ranger and rolls 8hp + 1hp for Con. He gets 5 skill points (6 Ranger -2 Int +1 Favoured Class) so I upped all his 3 rank skills to 4 ranks; Bluff, Intimidate, Perception, Stealth and Survival.
As a Ranger 4 I get a spell and took lead blades because Braddon.
I also get the Hunter's Bond (Ex) ability and will take the party version, as Braddon isn't really the animal type. So, as a move action, Braddon can grant his allies a +1 bonus to hit and damage against a human for a round.
And +1 Strength to 19.
