Coryston enters the chambers, spinning back to his seat.
Oooh! Things just got interesting.
Dyrant skooches his chair slightly so he can see Atol's face as things happen.

Atol sees that Coryston is wearing a ring, several in fact. However, he's fairly sure none of them are the one he is worried about.
There are a few mumblings from the hallway, but no one else is brave enough to stand forward, so unless another candidate is nominated, Coryston wins the seat by default.
"Yes, Atol, you and your friends should save the city from evil and we will do our best here to save it from ourselves. Hopefully we will both live through it and can discuss our victories over dinner."
And before Atol can respond, the ground begins to tremble...

Toffitt shifts focus instantly, taking out one of his longer lasting extracts and turning to Taskerhill, Jenya, Skie, and Coryston in turn.
"We have work to do, as do you. Protect those who need it. Get ready to fight." He makes for the door.

Dyrant nearly drops his AngelRelic when the tremor begins, words of arcane escape upon his lips, counting which civilians and friends he would try to save should the building begin to collapse.

When the rumbling subsides, relief flushes Dyrant's face before re-etching itself.
"Atol, that might be the work of the Cagewrights. That tremor might be the herald of their plan. We do not have much time," Dyrant say.
"Dr. Toffitt, we have to get back to work. Leave these to handle the City, we must find our next steps."
Dyrant leaves, uncertain about where to go next.
This is the day after returning from Greyhawk, yes? And two days after BeholderSlay?

Glimmil actually leapt off the table when requested by Lord Taskerhill.
Glimmil stands next to Skie and Cog riding the rumbling Oerth like he rides his steed.
"Wheee.... err, wait, this isn't supposed to happen like that right?"
Glimmil considers summoning Claw-Whomper to his hand but relaxes as the ground stands still.
"Did something big just belch underground or was that an Oerthquake?"

Just as things begin to settle down there's a popping sound behind Lord Taskerhill. At first, the party can't really see anything from the other side of the room except for the greataxes held over their heads by three of the derros. The fourth derro holds a dagger and proudly proclaims, "I accept the position of mayor and my first proclamation is to kill the Cauldron Five!"

Finneas begins casting a full round spell while Dyrant quickly glitterdusts the derros. Toffitt moves up just as quickly and cuts a deeps gash into the self-proclaimed mayor.

Lord Taskerhill withdraws from the derros by climbing up on the table, but manages to keep his goblet upright. A few of his retainers caught in Dyrant's glitterdust also manage to move away.
Jenya blesses the party while moving Lady Knowlern towards the door. Meerethan grabs onto Maavu, Coryston, and tries for Ellywinkle, but she pulls away. Coryston looks to Atol, but doesn't resist. Meerethan grabs a couple other people and teleports away. The rest of the lords, ladies, and commoners rush for the door knocking down any who get in their way.
Skie sends a trio of magic missles at the dagger wielding derro, but they fizzle on impact. She shrugs and then leans over to kiss Glimmil. "Go get him, honey."

Fearful that more creatures may appear to harass and attack the lords and new council, Atol starts with Bestowing Resolve* to everyone within 20’ of him. ”The protections of St. Cuthbert be upon you and protect you from hurt.”
Atol then moves up a bit (30’) toward Elly so he can be closer to the good Doctor should he fall.
*Bestow Resolve(su): +17 temporary hit points to all allies within 20' for 1 minute
Remember, anyone who had breakfast with Atol has 8 temporary hit points, +1 (morale) attack rolls/Will saves, and +4 (morale) on poison/fear saves from the heroes' feast for 12 hours.
Also note that the Bless spell cast by Jenya does not stack with Atol’s breakfast feast.

Glimmil blushes slightly and grins wildly at Skie's encouragement, almost forgetting a deadly battle has erupted around them.
"Of course, Skie-pie! This day is ours!"
With a whistle, he stands on his toes while Cog steps up from behind and lifts Glimmil onto his back.
Glimmil has +19 Ride with Cog, so Fast Mount as a free action never fails.
Frowning at the large table in his way, and his lance set against the wall near the room's entrance, Glimmil calls out a command - "WhOOOMp!" and finds Claw-Whomper securely in his grasp.
50ft movement for Cog and he can be just to the right of "DD" with Glimmil aboard.
As Glimmil turns the corner, his battlecry joins Ellywinkle's in echoing through the large chamber, "Foooor GaAAAaarrrlll!!" (swift action to smite evil on DD)

Glimmil rushes up before Toffitt steals all the fun. Cog clamps onto the derro's leg and pulls him to the ground. Glimmil follows up with a blow that almost caves in the derro's skull.
Atol fortifies the party before moving closer.
Dyrant moves up and readies to counter a spell by the derro.
Finneas finishes enlarging and quaffs a potion to better protect himself from the greataxes.
Toffitt can't get a flank and full round of attacks, but his prayers are answered since Cog tripped the derro. His first swing opens a large gash in the derro's abdomen. The second swing misses, but the third swing leaves the derro's guts spilling onto the floor as he gurgles, "Ash man!!!"
Jenya makes sure everyone gets out the door and stops there to see how she can be of assistance.
Skie tries her magic missiles against another derro and this time they explode against the derro next to Glimmil. She blows a kiss to Glimmil.

The derro laughs and swings back at Ellywinkle. The first swing cuts through her chain shirt like butter and Ellywinkle's eyes bulge. She drops her hammer when the second swing cuts across her neck and splatters her blood on the table and into Lord Taskerhill's abandoned goblet. She collapses in a heap and the derro then turns to the Toffitt. "One for one! One for one! One for one makes three!"

Glimmil winces as he witnesses the derro's greataxe slices the doctor open like a fisherman gutting a Sasserine spinefish.
Then, like a sunrod in the night, an idea alights in his head that he can do something about the skewering, Garl be praised, and take those injuries upon his own body. (Paladin's Sacrifice)
I count 92 damage with that hit, which takes Glimmil from 171 (17 of it temp) to 79. Luckily Glimmil didn't expend any swift actions in round 2 so his immediate is available.
Glimmil hesitates a little, unsure if he should continue to assault the derro between him and Toffitt and looks about the room to see what the other Cauldron Fivers are up to.
Delay a bit to see what Atol may be up to in case it's Blessing of Fervor or healing that would mean Glimmil would have a swift for a smite vs a lay on hands. I also assume Toffit may finish off D3 and take the 5ft step to set up a flank with Finneas, so Glimmil will come out of delay Round 4 ahead of the derros.

Still standing thanks to Glimmil, Toffitt finishes off the very bloody derro, steps onto his body, and starts on another one. Cog and Glimmil try to finish him off, but the derro seems protected by some otherworldly force as two of Glimmil's swings at the easy target go wide. First Skie, then Ellywinkle--popping into sight behind Atol--also fail to fell the derro as their magic missiles fizzle on impact.
