Atol hikes up his skirts and runs through the streets to the church as well. He does his best to stone his ears to the plight of the needy along the way. There are measures of pain and suffering, and these demons need to be stopped.

Finneas flies after Toffitt as quickly as he can, intent on putting a stop to the desecration.

The flying members of the party skirt the rooftops, many of them aflame, as they head for the Temple of Lordly Might(#25). They cross Lava Avenue and Magma Avenue, which now closely resemble their names in many places. As Toffitt, Finneas, Dyrant, and Glimmil fly over the Lord Mayor's residence (#26) they can seen that Elliott has trouble counting. There are dozens of demodands on Obsidian Avenue outside the temple.
Tarry demodands with their jet-black skin that looks like living tar herd the humans while terrorizing them. They let their ooze drip from their claws onto the heads of those gathered into lines that run into the building. Several decapitated heads already adorn the walls of the temple.
Several of the frog-headed demodands seem to be directing operations and picking out their favorites for further inspection before they are dragged screaming into the building.
From the doorway emerges an obscenely bloated demodand. He looks up toward the party and gestures for them to approach. Atol, Cog and Elliott will just be rounding the corner as the demodand call out.
The demodand props his mass up on his large wings and his folds of fat almost ripple as he talks and gestures about.
"Do come down already. We are quite busy today. No need for senseless bloodshed. Well, I must admit that I do it, but I have other priorities today. I have a town to enslave, prisons to set up, other demons to keep in line. I'm simply swamped. We could spend all day killing each other, but maybe there's another way we could work this out. Are you gamblers? Perhaps there is a champion among you. Perhaps you see reason and no that there are plenty of people in this town to be saved and enslaved. How many will die while you try to free these. I'll keep them alive at least, well, the healthy ones."

Dyrant pulls up short, looking over the forces arrayed against them, his knuckles turning white around the AngelRelic.
He pauses briefly to listen to the words of the lead Demodandy. He counts the forces again, then looks at Glim.

Seeing a permissive look in his direction from Dyrant, his heart leaps into his chest and his pulse quickens in excitement.
"A champion? We are all champions!"
Glimmil glides to the ground, flips up his visor and turns to look to his companions before returning his gaze to the head demo-doodad.
"Foul do-badder, before you stands Glimmil Glit-err, Cobwaddle the third! Champion of Cauldron!"
Suspiciously, he raises an eyebrow at the vague suggestion put forth.
"What is this gambling? You will cease your slaving immediately, by decree of the Cauldron Five!"

Toffitt calls to Finneas. "Fog" He fingers his liquid sonar, ready to begin filling the demodands full of holes.

Huffing loudly with the effort, Atol finally arrives at the scene - and he doesn't like it. Bravado nearly has him stepping up as well with Glimmil, but he knows better how that fight would turn out.
On hearing the call for fog, Atol considers laying down his own, but it wouldn't be placed right so he waits, on the balls of his feet, gripping his cudgel, ready for action.

Finneas pulls up short, only listening to what the demodand in order to allow the others time to catch up and prepare. On the Doctor's indication, he will drop a fog cloud.
"Enough talk."

As Finneas casts his fog (I'll count that as the surprise round), the Shaddy Demodand shouts out. "Keep the cattle in line." He extends his wings out to the slimy demodands at his sides. "We'll take care of the heroes."

Atol watches the citizens lined up to their destruction and casts about for something supportive to do. He also notes the spread out situation of the party and decides against Blessings of Fervor. Instead he rushes closer to the party (to AZ25) and casts Prayer (+1 att/dam/save/skill (luck) for all of us but Cog and Dr. Toffitt who left, the enemy are all out of reach)
Remember, anyone who had breakfast with Atol has 8 temporary hit points, +1 (morale) attack rolls/Will saves, and +4 (morale) on poison/fear saves from the heroes' feast for 12 hours.

As the fog cloud forms and Toffitt swoops in, a teenager tries to break ranks from the line of prisoner. The nearest tarry demodand cuts him down with his short sword before he even makes it a few feet. The rest of the prisoners remain frozen in fear, unsure how to proceed.
The shaggy demodand flies forward out of the fog cloud (not provoking from Toffitt if I'm seeing the angles right) and takes in the members on the rooftop. He casts magic circle against good on himself and then follows up with a quickened ray of enfeeblement at Finneas. He shakes his morningstar at Finneas. "I will put your skull on the front of this temple."

Leaping off the roof, Glimmil brings Claw-Whomper to his hand as he glides down next to the demodand and Atol.
Glimmil lands next to SL1, calls to Cog then readies for Cog to provide the flank on SL1.

Atol steps back 5’ and casts a simple spell, with a simpler purpose. He casts Command, Will DC 16 on SL2 commanding him to ”Fall!”.

Dyrant withdraws from the demodand while Finneas activates his cloak and moves up to cover his retreat.
Glimmil leaps from the building, but it's not as dramatic as he hoped as he's flying and not falling. He still gets his flank, but unfortunately Cog can't connect with the slimy demodand. Glimmil hits though and knocks off a small chunk of tattered flesh.
Toffitt uses the cover of the fog to fill the shaggy demodand with arrows.
Atol steps back from the demodand and tries to make the other one fall, but his magics are not anywhere near strong enough.
The tattered slime covered flesh of the slimy demodands is also quite pungent and Finneas, Glimmil, Cog, and Atol need to make DC 26 FORT saves versus the stench or be sickened ( -2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.)
The first slimy demodand attacks Glimmil. The demodand proves to be much more vicious and capable than any the party has faced before. It seems untroubled by Glimmil's shiny armor as it bites and claws him.
The second slimy demodand also begins to rip apart Finneas. The displacement cloak fails to protect Finneas, but this seems more a matter of luck than some special ability of the demodand.
Both Glimmil and Finneas find the demodand's stirkes try to shake their faith and disrupt their ability to cast spells.
The shaggy demodand moves a bit lower and closer to the party and then casts blasphemy. Several citizens drop dead inside the fog cloud."Oh, I hope I didn't kill too many of the healthy ones. There is going to be so many prisons to build. Keep them moving!"
The blasphemy is CL 20 and catches Toffitt, Glimmil, Cog, Atol, and Finneas. Finneas is immune though with his evil taint.

"Hey, I can't move!" he thinks, but then realizes his mouth doesn't move to even vocalize that much.
"Cog! Get out of here!" he thinks again, but once again fails to voice his thoughts.
I need to fly away before that claw...
As his toes leave the ground and he begins to float away from his attacker, Glimmil's eyes would widen in surprise if they could. He'd also frown when he sees neither Cog nor Atol have similar capabilities.

Dyrant emerges from his safe spot on the side of the building and heals Finneas. This allows Finneas to stand his ground. He swings three times, but only hits twice. At least one of them is a critical hit though.
Glimmil floats away like some glimmering statue while Cog is not so lucky and continues to stand next to the demon.
Toffitt hits twice as the first arrow fails to overcome the AC buffed by the magic circle against good.
Atol tries to channel, but can't raise his wrist to present his holy symbol. If you come up with an alternate action, let me know.
The first slimy demodand steps up to Atol and proceeds to tear him apart. The acid from the claws and bite drips between the chinks of his chainmail armor. (3 hits for 85 total)
The second slimy demodand continues its attacks on the freshly healed Finneas. Once again the cloak proves a great investment as only one of the three attacks hits.
Filled full of arrows, the shaggy demodand fires a quickened ray of enfeeblement at Glimmil, follows up with a greater dispel magic into the fog dispelling the fog and catching Toffitt, before retreating to the side of the building. I'm not sure what the highest level magic is for Toffitt. The caster level check was enough for up to a level 19 spell.

The Prayer did not extend to the enemies - they were out of range. Much as I like seeing a -1 to his on their stat-blocks, it's not true. :(
Atol feels the pain as the creature rips into his flesh easily and with precision. He looks around for aid from his fellow party members, but sees they are all in the same straights. Rather than retreat, leaving the creature to dismember Cog - or even turn on the flashing Finneas, he remains to take the damage for his peers and the poor citizens being herded to their doom.
He does step back 5’ however and cast Heal, touching himself and healing al his injures. He considers following it up with a channel, but Finneas and Glimmil are too far away to gain the benefit so he stays his hand.
"You'll have to try harder you foul beast. St. Cuthberts will is stronger than your own!"

Both slimy demodands are shaken by Dyrant's stares. Unfortunately, Finneas still only hits once as he inches closer to helping Atol.
Cog gets a good bite in on the slimy demodand, but takes 6 points of acid damage from biting the acid covered demodand. The demodand remains standing as Glimmil charges in. It doesn't explicitly say it in the rules, but I'm not going to allow the free swift mount which would give Glimmil movement after the charge. My logic being that you can't 5' after a charge and that a charge is a special action that culminates in the attack without anything after. On a positive side, Toffitt doesn't lose his flank.
Atol takes a 5' step back and heals himself completely. Toffitt flies in to block the path between the demodand and Atol. He gets a great, but not spectacular strike in on the demodand.
The first slimy demodand welcomes Glimmil back to the fight with a viscous bite and even more vicious claws. Which might be enough to take him down if he doesn't have a spell available.
The other slimy demodand descends with Finneas and manages two hits past the cloak this time.
The shaggy demodand fires a quickened ray of enfeeblement at Toffitt and follows up with a stinking cloud catching everyone but Dyrant[/b]. The shaggy demodand than retreats farther away.
