Hey all. I am dropping from the game. I am not keeping up with the amount and time of the general posting and do not want to drag down the fantastic, even frenetic, pace of the game. Good news! It's a great opportunity to recruit a primary arcane caster to help fill the gap that a part time caster wasn't going to cover.
You have all been wonderful party mates and I really hope you guys have much fun playing out what is starting out as a great AP.
GM_Chris, thank you for the opportunity to join your troupe. It was the most interesting and involved audition for a PBP yet! Please don't throw anything heavy at Painlord at your next game on account of me. =D

Best of luck drayen. I hope you find the time to play another time.

Atol Lem |

Sorry to lose you mate and I barely got to know you!
In other news, please keep hammers away from Dyrant...
"Finne--", Dyrant's thought is cut off as he exits the building to find Patch on the verge of violence while staring at Atol.
I know how you feel, man, I know how you feel. He makes me feel the same way.

Patch wrote:Is it Observation Bias, or does a halfling lurk behind every criminal enterprise in 4.75 and 4e?
"The Last Laugh paid me to watch Terrem, that's all. I was recruited by a halfling..."
I blame the LoTR movies. Frodo was such a whiner that everybody grew up wanting to beat the crap out of halflings, making it only natural for the larcenous little buggers to be the villain in so many stories.

Atol Lem wrote:"Thank you Dyrant, that means a lot to me. I shall look forward to hearing it from the pew."Ouch!
Dyrant winces as the simpleton's verbal dagger drives straight into his heart.
No, you freakin' simpleton, I'll never speak from the pulpit...EVER. I thought that would be clear by now. But you knew that, didn't you?
Unwilling to be driven to rage by the cutting jab of Atol, Dyrant will swallow his bile and walk far behind the simpleton on the way to the Eel, thoughts of retribution brewing in his mind.
This was great! :)

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

Thanks for everything Painlord!
Oh you can thank me by lying nice and still in your coffin whilst I dance on your grave, Atol!
::Dyrant does the snoopy dance.::
How does your divine spark feel now that it's infested with worms, simpleton?!?! How much does your god love you now?
::POOF::
Dyrant awakes from his happy dream and trudges closer to the Slippery Eel.

Gm_Chris, I loved the parable of the stew that you just created. Great work.
Painlord, what is wrong with you? If you are going to crap on my post at least justify why a +4 perception doesn't notice the incoming note, doesn't notice writing on it... do something before wiping out the attempt to set up a funny misunderstanding for the Atol character.

Apologies, D30, neither meant to ruin your punch line nor your set up with Atol.
I'll do better in the future; I was looking at a different set up at the time (working with Atol to find youse guys).
Again, my bad.

p.s. I avoided the perception check because I had said I was trying to avoid interaction with Atol. Yeah, notsogood.

Thanks for the offer GM_Chris [and the appreciation Balodek] I'm in 2 pbp and about to start another this coming week, which is my limit, so honestly can't commit like I know the game deserves.
Apologies - if my dance card still had a space I'd love to join the game. Good luck finding a replacement-replacement and I hope to game with guys sometime down the line.
Regards

Glimmil |

Indeed.
I must commend you all on amazing roleplay - the interplay with Dryant and Atol has been vastly entertaining - the "stew lesson" being one of my favorite all-time reads on Paizo's forums.
I appreciate Chris giving me the chance to try to keep up.
Glimmil awaits his opportunity to climb onto the table and invite himself to join your valiant efforts.
And, while he doesn't make the best hats, he does have some skill as a cobbler, so he could make good minotaur shoes if needed. :)

A gnome?!
And, what's more, a gnome in a game that the GM has perma-banned gnome kicking!? (Is that just for PCs or are monsters excluded from that? If monsters are excluded, what about polymorphed PCs? Can they kick gnomes? I'm sure I can find a loophole around the egregious oppression of my cultural gnomekicking heritage. This is an outrage!)
Welcome Gimmil.
I ponder what Dyrant feels about gnomes and how he would react to your entrance.
Answers soon, I suppose.
(Good entry!)

GM_Chris |

"I come to you in the service of the Watchful Protector, The Priceless Gem, The Sparkling Wit!" He paused for dramatic effect.
"Glimmil Garlgold!"
Wait, I just said my own name... Glimmil stood for a moment, without speaking, glancing about nervously. Maybe they won't notice.
The city of Cauldron might be doomed with this troop of heroes, but at least I'll get to laugh as it burns.

Welcome (again!) Great intro for Glimmil. I also like how you are incorporating the fun trait choices.
Unrelated, looked up the DC to overhear whispered conversations:
Hear the details of a whispered conversation 15
And +1/10 feet
Sometimes another +2 for unfavorable conditions (moderately noisy environment)
Also..
"Have no mind for Dyrant, he is quite sane, although the backpack is a tad crazy."
I missed how funny that is on my first read! Hahaha.

He fingers his phylactery instead.
Wait. Wut?! Phylactery!?
Atol's a lich!?
This makes no sense at all. That's totally out of character! Lich's have to be smart, right? RIGHT!?
If anyone in this party is going to the lich, it's Dyrant.

Thanks. Much is borrowed from others. You can thank/blame Dyrant for this obsession. Hopefully it won't slow things down too much. The learning curve has been steep. Hopefully it will flatten out now.
Damn. That map does look good.
