"Get out of my eyes you mangy overgrown rat!!!" Rags yells at the raccoon.
It shrieks and chitters back at him.
"Oh yeah!!! If this is what you meant by magnificent magical gifts, then I should have eaten you for dinner that day I found you in the trap!" Rags yells back.
And Jean kills the last one.
Now you do cliche ridden introductions of people who have never met and yet will be fast friends and hearty companions on the basis of nothing whatsoever.

Well, there's an actual basis: motherfragging brobarian and raccoon bro with magical hair, Kronug telepathically answer that voice he calls conscience.
"I am Kronug, these are my bros. We call ourselves stupid names because we haven't managed to nail a nice group name down, but who cares when you own a flamboyant gambling house and you are in your wat to claim some hard earned treasure from pesky drows who screwed us over?" says Kronug as he shakes both strangers hands like the bussinessman he is "I offer you full partnership on the basis that you two seem to kickass at least as well as our deceased party members, even tho you could flex a couple more times every week and achiwve maximum gainz in less than two months. I digress... wanna come with us and make some fat stacks of gold? We have dental insurance."

"Hey Kronut, don't these guys kinda look like the monsters? That one has tentacle arms and that one has a tentacle mane." Marckus notes, pointing. "Should we kill 'em?"
Marckus suddenly catches up to the conversation. "Full partnership? Who died and made you--oh, right, Dwarfus."
Marckus extends a blue-blood-soaked hand. "Name's Marckus. We don't have dental insurance."

The man-creature ceases all at once in his betentacled rage, and turns to the shape of a very ordinary man with light blonde hair just past his shoulders, and a short, but promising beard.
I know not of these "gainz" your friend speaks of, but they sound promising. I am Ulthar. With this he initiates a manly handshake.

Oh that. Well, rest assured I am in full control of my body. My mastery of the arcane allows such.
The mangy raccoon on Rag's head chitters and seems to sneer at the newcomers.
"He says he demands a full share and he wants a tiny little raccoon waistcoat." Rags translates for the group.
"He threatens terrible curses and a maleficent end to any that defy his terrible raccoon powers...." he continues.
"He's mostly harmless. If he could really curse someone, I'd have been turned into a little raccoon snack and gobbled up years ago."
Jean smiles at the new guys.
"You seem handy enough, and able to hold your own in a fight. You can join us if you wish. Now come close, and lets share Besmara's blessings."

Hold on. Isn't Besmara the one with the whips? Ulthar puts his hand up in protest as the harmless energies pass over him.
"Gawd I hope not..." Rags answers.
Trash Panda looks down at him and then Sileth and shoots them both the bird with his little raccoon hands.
"He is better than most people I've met at picking locks and disarming traps. No doubt you'll catch him with his sticky little fingers in your belongings before long."
Now Trash-Panda looks exceptionally pleased with himself.
My thanks for the fair warning, my ragged friend. To return it, if I do find him in my belongings, I expect you to provide him with the most vicious of punishment's known to my homelands. You must act very disappointed in him. He is being completely serious.
Ulthar turns to look at his inexplicable allies and contents himself with their performances.
What next?
"If that's all he gets, he'll never notice anything different...." Rags says dryly.
He looks over at Ulthar and says:
"Hey! Floppy-Arms, tighten that stuff up. You know it creeps me out when your elbows bend the wrong way."
"Enough talk. Are you guys here to mine some sky metal? Because we need mining slaves!" Marckus pauses and gets nudged by Jean.
"We need mining partners!"

"You're lookin' for slaves? How much would you offer for a slightly used raccoon?" Rags asks.
"Owww" he cries out as the raccoon jabs him in the ear.
OK, if the banter is complete, you can either find a place to rest for the night (as it is getting into afternoon) or do some prospecting, and then scramble to make camp late as it is getting dark.
While the former option is obviously more prudent, you folks actually listen to Kronug a lot.
Rags takes out a cure light wounds wand
"Anyone need any healing?"

"Anybody tried eating any of that tentacle jerky?" Rags asks gesturing to the weird animal carcasses.
"I'll take first watch. Anybody think that a fire will attract too much attention?"
"I can see in the dark just fine because I'm not a soft, squishy human."

"Let's make camp, my fellow prospectors. I could fight the whole night long, but I could only do it moderately angry instead of full of frothing rage." says Kronug with a smile "Rags, you said something about healing, ain't you? I have a couple flesh wounds, nothing serious. And then there's that zombie's kiss that sapped my strength."
Cure Light Wounds on Kronug
The new folks know of a cave nearby where you can hole up for the night. With all the tentacle critters around, it's probably a good idea. Will need a watch schedule.
"I'll take third watch, since I can see.
How about Uthar takes first, Rags take second, and Sileth takes fourth, with Jean last."

I shall keep my eyes peeled for ne'er do wells. Ulthar determines as he takes watch, pole axe at the ready...
...and he does an okay job.
Jean answers the question about Besmara.
"No, the Pirate Queen's holy weapon is the rapier."
He proudly shows his.
Rags rests until it is his turn to keep watch.
He and Trash Panda try to keep a sharp lookout together.
Trash Panda apparently stands on his hind legs like a little lookout for the entirety of the watch.
If nothing occurs, Rags prepares spells and rests further after Sileth takes over.
During Ulthar's watch a swarm of centipedes comes creeping towards your cave.
He is only able to see them in the firelight as they approach.
It appears that you are doing single (short) watches, so only he is up.
He can act as they head in.
Ulthar eyes the swarm entering the room and shouts loudly.
Arise! We have intruders! Hundreds of insects.
And he moves back closer to his allies.
When able, Jean will take some Alchemist fire from his backpack (3 of them) and handle them to his allies.
Everyone should be awake, I'd like actions. Might as well roll initiative as well.
We'll say you can pull two AFs out as an action (getting and opening the pack is the other action).

Actually the problem is that he doesn't speak centipede, and what he did say sounds a lot like "please come to dinner" in centipede.

Cast Chill Touch, using ropes/dreadlocks for reach.

Chill touch is a single target spell. You can zap exactly one bug, which in a swarm has no effect.
You can choose a different course of action.
Then he just hits the swarm from distance with reach.
(bludgeoning)
Ok, so you are not familiar with swarm rules. If the swarm is composed of fine creatures (like this one), you cannot damage it with single target attacks. If you have a spell or splash damage weapon, you can do something to the swarm, if not, you can't.
Sileth has no magic prepared to combat swarms...He casts Shield on himself (AC26) hoping that the others are more prepared than he
Marckus wakes up and realizes the ground is moving in a very leggy fashion. He digs around in his stuff and finds a bottle of acid. He stands up and prepares to lob it. "Watch out, this stuff burns!"
Didn't know if it was a tiny, fine, or diminutive. Assumed it was tiny which is damaged by weapons.
They're diminutive btw.
