If there's anyone awake with him on watch, he'll get them to provide backup as he investigates.
-
If not, he will wake one of the not-a-mages (whoever is nearby) and tell them to alarm the party if he screams.
-
He will take some string from his pack and stuff it in his belt line, load a bolt in his crossbow, and buckle on his sword and sling his shield to his back.

Edit: Duh, I switched out the crossbow for a composite longbow. Ok, bow out, string taut, arrow pointed at the dirt.

Nye Wajid |

Nye swigs a last gulp of ale, stoppers his keg, and stuffs it back into the pack. He shrugs as Joe tries to encourage him remembering that of all the watch Joe was the only one who wouldn't kick him awake. Then they are running....
Nye isn't sure why he followed the other survivors into the jungles, perhaps he just wanted more time alive to drink ale but now he is cursing the choice. Legs burning and mouth a rough as bark he often wants to sit down and take a swing, but the others won't let him. He keeps pressing on until the enter the fog. The eeriness comforts him, the darkness and the stillness relieve some of the tension in his heart with out a keg to get him there.
When the group stops he immediately digs out his ale and takes a drink. The others start hunting, foraging, and trap making but Nye is useless in the wilds. He finds a spot under a tree and dozes off, letting the much needed rest re-energize his legs. As he sleeps his brain goes through the ritual of cleansing and preparing the arcane recesses of his mind. The arcane training is so ingrained not amount of liquor has been able to erase the years of magical training.
In the morning he awakes, rested and feeling different. He pulls some jerky from the rations in his pack and munches on it as he digs out his spellbook and starts reviewing a mystical formula, and act he hasn't performed in months. Grabbing the keg of ale, he washes down the dried meat with his first drink of the day, usually the first act of his morning.

Shanosuke |

At this point you all are beginning to stir. You will notice Aldo and Vivaji all paying attention to something in the brush. Though your not sure what it is.
The halfling keeps his crossbow trained on Aldo. Vivaji shows up and the halfling is now pointing the crossbow back and forth. "I am Levi, and I am not hurt. But I wont go down either. I am going to get out of this jungle and I'm gonna do it alive!" Levi looks over his crossbow at you. "So are you friend or foe?"

Jivaji Varesh |

Sense Motive on this guy 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Jivaji relaxes his stance and removes the arrow from the bowstring. "We are not here to hurt anyone except those who try to hurt us. I am Jivaji, and this is Aldo. We, along with a handful of others, escaped into the jungle from murderous pursuit."
Jivaji eyes the halfling closely for a moment. Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
"You seem to be in dire straights friend. What are you running from?"

Shanosuke |

Levi relaxes." I was running from the various natural and unnatural monsters of this death trap. Trying to find a way out. We are trapped in this place by that fog." Levi sighs and makes his way into the camp. I assume its safe with you guys. I've been running for.my life for most of the night. I'm tired Levi will make his way to camp and take a seat.
Those of you still in camp are waking up and you will notice a tired looking halfling enter the camp and plop down. With a massive sigh of relief, the balding will pull out a waterskin and rations and begin to enjoy a meal.

Joe "Mac" MacGillicuddy |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
"Hey fella, where the heck did you come from? You running from that Mormont varmit too? Cause that's what we're doing. At least until we can mount up a plan to where we can kill 'im. Names Joe MacGillicuddy. You can call me Joe. Or Mac. It don't make none to me. Now as long as you ain't for Mormont, you can stay on here with us. Will help ya!" He nods in greeting.

Jivaji Varesh |

Jivaji shakes his head in disbelief.
"My, but you are trusting... But I suppose in the jungle, the animals do not invite you in for a meal before devouring you."
Following Levi back to the camp, "Of course you may help yourself. The jungle here seems abundant in food." Jivaji demonstrates this by unwrapping the cooked meat of a small mammalian, stuffed in a leaf the size of a dinner platter. Setting the leaf down near the fire to warm for the halfling, Jivaji turns to those beginning to waken.
"Friends, meet Levi. He has apparently been out here surviving on his own?" delivered more as a question than a statement
eventually...
"Levi, what is this fog? How does it trap us? Please forgive my ignorance, as this is my first daybreak in this jungles."

Jivaji Varesh |

Once people begin to stir, and not entrenched in conversation, Jivaji begins collecting his unsprung traps.
If needed,

Shanosuke |

As you observe the halfling you will notice that his clothes are ragged from a long period of wandering in this jungle. The halfling himself looks. Haggard and worn as if he had gone several nights without sleep.
"I know of Mormon. He's the reason I'm stuck in this jungle. That was twenty years ago. This fog, it surrounds a very large portion of the jungle. If you try a pass through it, you only come back the way you attempted to leave. In those twenty years, I have struggled to stay alive. It hasn't been easy"

Nye Wajid |

Nye listens as the halfling tells his story worried about the unnatural fog, "Great we'll never find a tavern in this mess." Taking a swig from his keg he lets his eye shift to the spectrum of the arcane and studies the surrounding mist with a mystical eye.
Cast detect magic; Know-arcana check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Shanosuke |

Levi looks to Tam. "Haunted? I wouldn't say that. Curse is more like it. This isn't some rumor. There are undead everywhere. Just wandering the jungle. Even the animals are suffering from the cures. Zombie dinos." Levi shivers. "I hate those things." Levi looks around. "Surviving wasn't easy. There are a few wild settlements and one "civilized" settlement in which I have had the ability to rest in safety. Otherwise, I've been wandering without sleep for a good week now trying to find out the secret to this fog." He shakes his head."None yet."

Silent, the boy |

Silent stands and stretches, his muscles lethargic after a night of sleep following their long run the day before. Hearing the new voice and seeing the people grouping up, he wanders over, listening to their conversation.
His golden eyes weigh the little man, trying to ascertain his threat level to the group's survival. He quests through his emotions about the new-comer, nudging that part of his mind hidden so far at the back that often has answers or warnings for no apparent reason.
Sense Motive against the halfling - trying to get a hunch (DC 20) to see if he's legit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 + 5 if this fits within teh scope of Silent' Premonition trait.
Using the first of Silent's Premonition/Augury's.
Question: Does accepting the new halfling into our camp present a danger to us?
Also, I'll just assume Silent sleeps well every morning unless you say otherwise, Shano. :)

Eltumal turns at a touch on his arm, and sees Silent standing there watching the halfling warily but with concern.
Eltumal said he'd be out today… do we want to wait, or just npc his translation?

by the by, Jivaji will be taking a rank of linguistics, and probably will continue to do so as long as there are sources of other languages.

If he's gonna be out for a while, I'll presume he'll be translating. That's about the only NPC thing we need to do with him.

Eltumal Woodsoul |

Sorry about that. Yeah, I'll translate that.
To the group, not letting the halfling hear,"Does anyone have any medical expertise,? Our short friend here is going to die unless something can be done soon. Silent doesn't know what's wrong with him, but he knows that something is definitely wrong. Does anyone know anything about internal injuries or diseases?"
I may or may not be out the 16th, and I just found out that I'm going on a cruise the week after. I'll be out the 24th-30th/31st. I'll also be gone most of the 23rd for my last IRL game before the cruise. This is why I'd rather my mom tell me about these things before they happen. -_-' Sorry to be a bother with absences.

Aldo Alessi |

Aldo feels sweat gather at his brow and he quickly wipes it away. The jungle was a poor hostess, he thought. And now this halfling was dying right in the camp. A chill, or perhaps a bead of perspiration ran down his spine as his mind wondered back to Darpuul, and to how everything he had known was gone. He winced as he questioned his actions now. Soon there would be a dead thing here and the survivors will move on to set up camp somewhere else, just like Darpuul. Despite the jungle heat, Aldo shivered.

Joe "Mac" MacGillicuddy |

To the group, not letting the halfling hear,"Does anyone have any medical expertise,? Our short friend here is going to die unless something can be done soon. Silent doesn't know what's wrong with him, but he knows that something is definitely wrong. Does anyone know anything about internal injuries or diseases?"
"Die?! Well I can't say I know much about diseases or whatnot, but I got some o' them bottles that help ya when you're hurt. You think that might help?" Joe responds in a marginally loud whisper.

Gylwinth of the Crimson Moon |
Cursing under his breath, the elf steps back further: "Stay clear from him! He might be carrying a deadly disease... Joe, potions will be useless I think. Who here has some knowledge that could help us. Maybe it's best to just leave him if we can't cure him. Otherwise, we run the risk of ending up in the same situation..."
Gathering his cloak around him, the elf draws his hood up and stares at the newcomer. His hands extend to his side as he mentally rehearse the phrase for his slumbering power.
Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Jivaji returns from collecting his traps and hears all the fuss. He also notices the Halfling swaying like a pine tree. "Hm. He looks awful to be sure. Gylwinth, how can you be sure of a disease? Perhaps the magic potion would help, though I can see no visible wounds on him."
Depsite the apparently open-minded gesture, Jivaji still doesn't get terribly close.
"Joe... Maybe you could toss him a potion."

Joe "Mac" MacGillicuddy |

"Well alright. But I reckon Gylwinth might be right." He digs in his pack for one of his potions. Feeling sorry for the little guy, he moves towards him. As he gets within 10' of him, "Hey little buddy. You don't look so good. Can you tell us how you're feelin'? Maybe that might help us be able to fix you up. Well not me, I don't know much about fixin' up hurts, but one of the others might be able too. Why don't you take a swig of this and see if it might help." He says as he offers it to him. But before Levi has a chance to respond, Joe turns his head back to the others, "You fellas sure I can't go up there and just give it to him? I sure don't feel right just throwin' it at 'im."

Jivaji Varesh |

"Joe, I don't feel good about it either. I no more wish to treat a man like this than you do. Unfortunately, if we contract this illness there will be no one here to take care of us, and we are a long way from home.
On the other hand, I won't let him die if I don't have to. If he's incapable of understanding the situation or drinking it himself, I would also volunteer to pour it down his throat. I just hope it doesn't come to that."
Jivaji sees the halfling start to swoon as his eyes droop further.
Quickly, he adds "It appears we have little time to act though, if my guess is any good."

Shanosuke |

Between the two of you observing Levi, you deduce that he is suffering from poison. It is obviously a lethal poison, but as long as no physical contact is made, there is no danger of it spreading.
Levi is slowly becoming incoherent and unresponsive. He is unable to say anything.

Joe "Mac" MacGillicuddy |

"Yeah, I guess you're right." He responds. Then turning back to Levi, "Alright, little buddy, I still got this drink here for ya, if you want it. It's just I can't get to close to ya, cause we think there might be sumpin' more wrong with ya than we can fix." He looks at him with pity. Seeing how he doesn't seem to be responding, "Hey Jivaji, I don't think he's hearing me." He relays to the Tengu.

Jivaji Varesh |

Jivaji opens his beak excitedly and begins to speak, but Gylwinth stole the words from his mouth.
Nodding along with Gylwinth, Jivaji adds "Yes yes, look at his skin, you see the pale marks under his eyes?"
Jivaji rushes forward and draws forth a small amount of chalk powder from his pack. He grabs a mug of water off of a flat rock near the halfling and hurridly sloshes the powder in.
"Drink friend, swallow it all. Maybe this will slow the poison."
Heal check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 so the guy gets +4 to his next save if the check beats the poison DC
Jivaji sits back, after a second he turns to the group. "Does anyone know of anything else? I know I saw some basic healing herbs as we were clearing the area. Silent! Do you remember where they were?"

Jivaji Varesh |

Survival - Did he see the potentially healing herbs? And where? 1d20 + 9.
My bad, I should have specified that it was completely an RP thing. The check to treat poison is just a Heal check, and it doesn't say it requires any sort of props. A healing kit of course adds to the check but otherwise, to make a heal check as far as the rules are concerned, you could stand by the halfling, hold his hand, and think not-poisoned thoughts!
The chalk powder was also an RP thing, I just thought it sounded cool to use the environment around us to approximate the activity of a heal check.I'll make sure to mention when I'm doing that from now on. Usually that sort of discussion is easily conveyed at a table, but obviously takes a lot longer on the forums! Still getting used to it.

Shanosuke |

Your premonitions tell you there is no harm in touching him. Also, you are able to find herbs that may help.
Your rough administration of "medicine seems to be helping" You recognize the symptoms to a degree. It will take a knowledge nature check to know the exact origin of the poison. If you don't have it you can attempt to aid another using your heal check. IF you do have knowledge nature, you gain a +2 yourself.
You are able to get your alchemy ready for the herbs should silent find any. You will gain a -4 to make an antidote unless someone identifies the poison.
Your hyperventilating, you need a paper bag
