Unfortunately this is not my nature hippie survivalist character so yeah, let's check out the beach and build a shelter. Since survival can be done untrained can those of us without a good survival score aid other and take 10 to give somebody a +2?

Lormo Shashud |

I'm back, so I will have normal cell coverage and more time. Feel free to ask Lormo everything you want, he has all knowledges and professions, so he will be glad to help you. His current troubles are: why are we not in mainland, how can we make there safe?
My Survival is pretty low, so I won't be leading anything, but am willing to help both hands and advise.
If Lormo see there are other people on beach, he will be asking everyone to go and help them, at least move them from away, so sea scorpions do not eat them, while they uncontious.

Sorry Salty. Peek inside my mind. Wilderness First Responder here. When dealing with an unknown number of warm bodies, I flock to:
1: Assess the scene, 2:triage, 3:Treatment.
For Assessment I figured Perception would at least tell us who is still alive. Furthermore, I hoped it would prove the beach a safe place to render aid.
The party should expect great care this adventure.

Baelir |

Sorry mine wasn't more descriptive, I was posting from mobile. Baelir would have moved closer to her and would be kneeling down. I hate the hotel at nights when people are trying to get a room and decide to call somebody at random. I couldn't use the computer because that would seem very rude, so I had to do it from my phone.

I will be on vacation for a week starting on Friday. I will try to post as often as possible but my access might be spotty.

Baelir |

For me it's one week from today, I'm flying to Florida for about a week. I'll have internet and I'll be able to post but it might be sketchy. I know where I'll be staying at has internet and I will have my tablet and tablet keyboard.

Lormo Shashud |

@GM which point are we currently at, according to map? Lormo rolled well for geography but I can repeat if needed.

Baelir |

@Kasia Oh I know, I took 20 to take my time. 2 minutes of small talk and a handsome face with a devilish grin. I haven't played a charming face in a while. Not since Star Wars Saga Edition and I avoided so many dark side points because I refused to use cheap tricks to get cheap tricks.

Lormo Shashud |

I think we need to checkout what we have at the point. If we need to hunt, I think moving inland will make more sense. If we have a supply of smoked fish to sustain our camp for couple of weeks, than we can think about staying there at B point.

Lormo Shashud |

Sorry... Flatland rat here... I'm totally out of any ideas, what might be stored on fantasy ship as emergency food supply. Croutons, jerky, pickled cabbage, wands of create food?... I wouldn't mind finding something like that...

Baelir |

We might find like a barrel of salted... various meats that I wouldn't trust. However making a camp on the edge of the forest near the beach would be best. Closest place to create a signal fire for passing ships, closest place to water (while it is saltwater it's not too hard to use the sun to help us get regular water from it if we have to) and fresh fish.

I am not really hiding you just seemed to have a hard time finding me. I will catch up soon :)
My character just doesnt like to miss anything. See she would get into trouble if she missed things in the past.

@Salty, another question:
There is C2 on a map, south to our location at B. According to map landscape, it looks like some kind of hill. Is it a landmark? Can you please describe it. According to scale it's about 0.6 miles to that point.

Kasia |

So, maybe a quick "Rally the Troops" Then take a look around the area for a real campsite? BBQ Scorps for dinner?
Salty, how long would it take to take-20 on a search for a campsite? Is that even possible given the circumstances?

Lormo Shashud |

Setting up camp will take a survival check and 8 hours. Survival checks are, of course, needed for looking for food and water. When you do set up camp, you need to delegate jobs to the NPC(or yourselves)in order to keep yourselves alive. There are five of them: Defender: Sets traps around the camp sees to the general safety of the camp, Guard: Protects the camp from wandering beasts, Entertainer: Keeps the NPC's morale up, Medic: Reduce the chance of getting a disease and increase hitpoints healed when resting at camp, and Hunters: Gathers enough for the camp for 8 people. You are also looking after the well being of the 5 NPCs. You have to watch out for their attitude and their morale. Attitudes comes in 5 levels: Hostile: Cause trouble for the group even though they might not meant to; Unfriendly: Stays out of trouble, but won't help; Indifferent: Will help with the camp; Friendly: Asks for favors to the party; Helpful: Gives a boon the Party. Currently: Aerys and Sasha are indifferent while Jask, Ishirou, and Gelik are unfriendly. Morale, on the other hand, looks at their mental state. They too comes in 5 flavors: Hopeful, Normal, Shaken, Frightened, and Panicked. Each day, they take will save. Depending on the result, it can go up, down, or stays the same. Currently they are all at shaken.
Might be it is worth to keep short description of NPC and attitudes/conditions in Campaign Info tab?
For example:
NPC:
* Aerys, half-elf from the Shackles. Indifferent, shaken.
* Sasha, a red-haired woman with a cheerful personality. Indifferent, shaken.
* Jask, a middle-aged man clapped in irons. Unfriendly, shaken.
* Ishirou, a quiet Tien man who looks like have a hard life. Unfriendly, shaken.
* Gelik, a well-dressed gnome with a sharp tongue. Unfriendly, shaken.

Mosi, no problem. I also was thinking this is some kind of giant constrictor :)
To solve explore mode party issue, I created this GDraw Explore formation and feel free to update your location (if you don't like) and add couple of lines for your character.
GM Salty, if you prefer to put all that square-battle-map thing away and do any combats without map using some other rules, feel free to discard and comment.

Salty GM |

This is great Lormo, though you don't have to do this. I can put this to good use. As for actual combat, I decided that I would makeg grids if the combat seems like it would be too complicated for pbp format. Not all combat would be using a grid like for random encounters or it looks like you guys would have little trouble with the enemy and wastes them in a round or two.
I am also going to get rid of initiative for the time being as it only complicates things due to how it is difficult to follow the flow. If it is not working out, I'll bring initiative back. Just want to see if it makes it works better without it.

Evening watch: 4 hours (21:00 - 01:00) - Kasia and Lormo
Night watch: 4 hours (01:00 - 05:00) - Baelir and Albawar
Morning watch: 4.5 hours (05:00 - 10:00) - Mosi and Aerys
Cloony is free of watch to recover his spells.
I don't need to change/recover my extracts, so I can use elven 4 hour sleep.
If Kasia is praying on sunrise, she can ask to be waken by Baelir or Albawar.
