Memnosyne
"Hmm, I had hoped to use her greed to keep us from being damaged by those runes. Ah well." She murmurs a brief prayer to Pharasma as she helps poke around the room and body for anything of use.
using detect magic of course

"Maybe she left notes about what combinations she has tried."

When they finally get back to the rune wall... (assuming they haven't found any other clues), "My best guess is, 'Silent, the eyes, Listen, they see.' I'm not sure of the why and where for, but I believe it's referring to the eyes on the door. Though silent, they listen, the eyes, they see. At least that seems to make some sort of sense. Although, I would prefer 'seethe in style,' you know, if I had to make a puzzle door."

On Ayala there is only her bladed scarf which is magical.
Heaped on a table in the room Ayala came out of are sections of wall mural, ancient coins, pieces of jewellery, gems and bits of pottery.
There are also several journals that detail Ayala's plans for the Tower Girls- they mainly deal with how she is going to recruit more girls and spread her lycanthropy. There is a mention of the doors but only to say they can't find the way to open them and also touching the doors hurt.
There is a chest in this room that contains 87gp and 175sp.
Oster finds a secret door on one wall.
Memno - are you going to try to move the runes?
Devlin Lufftin
"Do you want to give a go Memnosyne? If that doesn't work what about THE SILENT EYES."
Daniel Penfold 351
Memnosyne, take 5 points of damage as you move the runes.
As the final tile locks into place the runes spell out Silent, They See. At this point there is a creaking noise and the double doors slowly swing open into what appears to be a hallway.
The Thessalonian murals here are as vibrant as if they were painted yesterday. A dusty cobweb-choked corridor runs north.
Memnosyne
BOOYAH! And owww
Though the pain is excruciating, Memnosyne keeps moving the tiles to where she thinks they ought to be. After the door opens, she smiles, briefly. "I hope there aren't many more of these damn things."
Devlin Lufftin
"I am sure we can fix you up or protect you in some way next time around." Devlin grins. Devlin looks into the room from the doorway and makes a sweeping gesture with his left arm as he casts Detect Magic.
Daniel Penfold 351
Oster opens the secret door from Ayala's room after searching for traps.
Within a small chamber is a skeleton, it appears to be the remains of a nobleman. Among his bones is a masterwork chain shirt, a masterwork rapier, a pendant of the souk, 50 feet of silk rope and a leather pouch containing 250gp.
The pendant detects as magical, nothing else does apart from the things you already know about.
Oster Catus
Oster looks gleefully at the remains of the nobleman.
"That dead nob's gear would suit me to the ground. Minus the bones of course.", he adds with a wink.
Devlin Lufftin
"Well if it works for you then have at. The pendant in the remains is magical and if you give me a moment I might be able to suss out what it does."
Continues to concentrate with Detect Magic for a total of three rounds.
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Daniel Penfold 351
Devlin, after 3 rounds you get what the pendant does. Basically it gives a +5 competence bonus to Appraise checks, 1/day identify spell, finally it grows in the presence of illusions giving a +2 bonus on saving throws to disbelieve
=======================================================================
Moving through the open siccatite doors into the passageway, you come to a set of stairs leading down. They eventually end on the first floor which appears to be a bathroom.
A green, scum-covered pool extends across the far end of this room. Passages exit to the side, and curving stairs rise to a balcony over the south end of the room. The floor and walls are streaked with dark smears of guano in thick layers.
Oster Catus
"Cheers Devlin."
**********
"Side door sounds good to me. Less exposed."
Oster Catus
Oster, suspicious of the blobs, draws his sling and launches a bullet at the nearest one.
Sling: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Damage: 1d4 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Devlin Lufftin
"Oh look moving slime." Gods I hope this won't smell as bad as I think it will.
Devlin moves to catch both blobs in the fifteen foot cone of fire that he unleashes onto them. Devlin splays his hands out towards the blobs as a gout of fire pours forth.
Burning Hands: 3d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) = 8 (DC 17 Reflex Save for half damage and to negate being Dazzled for 1 round)
Memnosyne
I wanted to go ahead and post this before I go to bed, but Mem will only take this action if Devlin's does not kill one or both. If his spell works great, I'll take a different action
Damn, I was hoping to save this spell...
Memnosyne weaves her hands, speaking a prayer to Pharasma, and a phantom dagger comes out of her right hand.
casting spiritual weapon
The dagger darts out at the nearest blob.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
force damage, bypasses damage resistance, affects incorporeal, can't be attacked or damaged, does not count as piercing or slashing
Memnosyne
ok, cool, thanks
Memnosyne is relieved to see that Devlin's spell worked so well. She flicks a dagger (normal, not silver) in the creature's direction.
dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Fortunately, they aren't that hard to hit.
Daniel Penfold 351
As Memnosyne hits the amoeba it pops and dissolves into sludge.
There is a passage to the north west, one to the north east and one to the south east.
To the south east you can hear a skittering noise occasionally. To the north east you can't hear anything. To the north west you can hear something sneezing.
Oster Catus
"Nasty little blobs, those were. Now sneezing, that has my curiosity. Shall we have a look to the north-west then?"
Daniel Penfold 351
You head in the direction of the sneezing. The room is featureless, except for a miserable looking blue skinned creature that continually sneezes.
Oster realises it is a mite. It has damage reduction against everything except cold iron. As it sees you it shrieks and starts to run away.
Initiative order:
Devlin: 17
Xango: 13
Mite: 12
Oster: 7
Memnosyne: 4
Oster Catus
"Cold iron will do the job on that mite, if we have any! Let's get it!"
He begins to run after the creature, sap in hand.
Devlin Lufftin
"Not so fast little bug." Devlin points his hand at the insect and blast of icy particles go flying after it.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Ray of Frost (cold damage): 1d3 ⇒ 3
Oster Catus
"Curiosity sated I suppose!" , Oster says unseriously.
"How about backtracking to check on the other noises?"
Memnosyne
"Oh good. New dagger." She picks up the dagger off the mite. "Okay, Oster. But we will want to most likely come back and check these stairs as well."
Oster Catus
"Oh for sure, Mem. But we know something was making sound near us. I'd walk easier knowing that's been looked into.", he adds with a grin.
Daniel Penfold 351
You head south east. This room is littered with desiccated fish carcasses and a few larger bodies, and the ground is a thick, sticky sheet of webbing. A narrow tunnel exits the chamber to the north, while to the southwest, the room opens into a 40 foot diameter silo-like chamber from which the sound of sloshing water can be heard. In the room are two giant spiders feasting on a dolphin. They move forward to attack.
Initiative order:
Oster 22
Spiders 21
Devlin 16
Memno 12
Xango 10
Oster Catus
Oster charges the nearest spider, just that sliver faster than they are, and tries to pierce its hide with his new rapier.
Mwk rapier: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Because of his charge, Oster's AC is down to 16 until his next turn when it will go back up to 18
Daniel Penfold 351
Oster, your rapier implales one of the spiders and black ichor runs out, it still moves however.
One of the spiders attacks you, one attaks Devlin
on you (1d20 = 19 + 2) =21. The spider hits you for (1d8 = 8 + 5) = 13
The other spider attacks Memnosyne
Bite + 20 = 10 +5 which is five + 2 =7 damage/
Devlin, over to you;
Devlin Lufftin
"Stay clear of the webs!" Devlin turns on the spiders with an almost sickly glee. He thrusts his outstretched splayed hands forth and blankets spiders and web alike in a fan of fire.
Burning Hands: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9 (DC 17 Reflex Save for half damage and to negate being Dazzled for 1 round)
Memnosyne
Memnosyne sucks her breath in hard as the spider bites into her leg. She spins her dagger and plunges it at the head of the spider left standing.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
How the hell did they get a dolphin?!
Oster Catus
Oster yells as the spider bites deep, and staggers a little. He recovers in time to move and drive his rapier at the surviving arachnid.
5 ft step to flank spider, sneak attack
Mwk Rapier: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 2 = 21
Sneak Attack Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 4 + (2, 2) = 14
AC back up to 18
Oster Catus
Wiping off his rapier, Oster says:
"We may as well check that chamber before we go downstairs."
Daniel Penfold 351
Moving to the north east you enter what appears to be a dressing room. Thick guano covers the floor of this room. Stalls divide the western wall, and a stone bench and fountain stand to the east.
As you enter a swarm of bats flies down and attaks.
Initiative order
Bats 19
Devlin 11
Xango 10
Memnosyne 8
Oster 7
The bats swarm over Devlin for 4 points of damage and you are bleeding.
Devlin it is your action.
