Devlin Lufftin
"Go away!" Devlin points his finger at the closest goblin and icy particles shoot forth. Devlin's eyes widen as the icy ray launches forth.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Ray of Frost, Cold: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Daniel Penfold 351
Devlin your cold particles shoot forth, unfortunately they do not quite penetrate the Goblins natural armour.
The first Goblins fires his bag at Oster:
(1d20-1 ) = 11 - The bag misses Oster and falls harmlessly into the sewage. You see that the bags are full of mostly sewage with some nails and broken glass
The second Goblin fires at Xango
(1d20 -1) =12 versus touch AC. The bag strikes Xango doing 1 point of damage (could you make a Fort save please)
The third Goblin fires at Devlin:
(1d20-1) = 13 (touch Ac) The bag hits Devlin doing a point of damage (Fort save please)
Memno - you are next
Memnosyne
Memnosyne makes the spiral of Pharasma on her breastbone and points at one of the goblins. "Boo," she says, kind of anti-climatically.
cast cause fear-DC15 will save or he's frightened for 1d4 rounds. If he saves, he's shaken for 1 round
Oster Catus
Oster continues slinging bullets at the goblins.
Sling: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Devlin Lufftin
"I said go away!" Devlin makes a shooing motion towards the closest goblin as it is suddenly engulfed in a rain of tiny meteorites.
Minute Meteors: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 DC 15 Reflex Save to negate damage.)
Daniel Penfold 351
The goblin fails to get out of the way of the meteorites and takes the damage, it is still there.
One goblin throws another bag at Devlin
(1d20 -1 touch) = 15 for 1 point of damage (Fort save please)
The other swings a crude knife at Xango
(1d20 +1) = 14 which is a miss.
Oh you can hear the Goblin that was scared still running away in the distance.
Memno back to you.
Memnosyne
I do NOT want to go through this sewage. Ugh!
Memnosyne reaches out and touches Oster on the shoulder, tracing another spiral. "Disgusting creatures," she mutters. "This may help you put one down."
cast guidance=+1 to next attack, skill, or save
Oster Catus
Oster keeps launching bullets.
I'd rather *not* wade through that!
Sling: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Devlin Lufftin
"Dang it! Why won't these little monsters scurry on back from wherever they came from?" With a shake of his hands Devlin gestures emphatically while he speaks. Another rain of tiny meteorites plunge into the nearest goblin.
Minute Meteors: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 (DC 15 Reflex Save to negate damage.)
Memnosyne
With a sigh, Memnosyne picks up a rock (gods, I hope that's a rock) and uses her own sling to try to hit one of the goblins.
sling: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Daniel Penfold 351
The rock flies true, striking the remaining Goblin between the eyes. It falls and sinks into the sewerage.
The Goblins have no treasure apart from very poorly constructed knives (which you can have provided you are willing to ferret around in the muck to get).
What do you want to do next?
Oster Catus
Oster glances at where the knives fell..
"Yeah, I think we can safely leave those. Wait a moment while I have a listen here."
He puts his left ear to the north door.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Oster Catus
Oster swiftly backs away from the door and gestures for the others to do likewise, then draws his rapier.
"Crossbows being loaded. Get ready folks."
Oster Catus
Oster isn't keen to. He's just heard what sounds like an ambush.
Memnosyne
Memnosyne clears her throat with a loud, "ERM-HURM." She stands back a bit from Oster and calls out to the door, "There is no need for crossbows. We are here to speak with Natalya. Please, we've no wish for violence." That being said, she also grips her dagger tightly just in case violence was going to happen anyway.
Devlin Lufftin
"I think I have just the thing for this if you will let me give it a go. I was practicing a fiery bit of showmanship for an act I wanted to perform a few years back and I think that now is a good a time as any for it. I must warn you though the front row tended to get a bit toasty at this point."
Devlin is offering to unleash a Burning Hands spell the moment the door is opened. Whether the individuals loading the crossbows are close enough for it to work though is yet unknown.
Memnosyne
Memnosyne steps back and gives Devlin the 'be my guest' wave. She whispers, "You might not want to hurt them if they agree not to attack. We are trying to look friendly, here."
Daniel Penfold 351
The floor of this room has fallen away, leaving a narrow, charred ledge along the south and east walls. To the northwest, a ledge heaped with crates and barrels sits, while above the rafters of the attic lay bare to view.
Two Goblins are standing up, crossbows unloaded and held downwards.
"We take you to boss"
Oster Catus
Oster nods at the goblins.
"Good lads. Show us the way, please."
Daniel Penfold 351
The Goblins lead you past the barricade into the next room (A6). Here the floor has collapsed into the sewage pit below. Above the ceiling has also fallen, revealing the rafters. There is a ladder in this room but the Goblins tell you its unsafe.
(Fort save for everyone due to wading through the sewerage).
The Goblins lead you into another room (A6) where there is the remains of a fireplace with a ladder by the chimney breast leading up.
Going up the ladder you are in the attic space (A10), the ceiling has collapsed into the room below and there are large gaps of empty space over the drop. A large fireplace in the room below climbs the wall as a wide chimney into here. The crumbling charred brick of the chimney has been chipped away to create a large hollow within, with a tangle of discarded planks and other rubbish now serving as a floor.
There are 2 more Goblins here and a young woman who matches the description of Natalya Vancaskerkin. She greets you and says,
"Welcome. It is good to see there are more recruits who are willing to follow the rightful ruler of Magnimar, Natalya, Bow down and show your obedience. Soon we will take over Magnimar, and then the world."
Oster Catus
Fort: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Oster seems undaunted by the foul muck, taking careful note of the route as he walks along.
Hearing Natalya's speech,
Hooo boy. Loopers.
"Natalya Vancaskerkin, I am Oster and I would very much like to know how you intend to take over Magnimar."
Bluff to trick her that Oster is talking like a convert or a fan: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Diplomacy to get her to talk: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Memnosyne
fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
OMG, those 20's would be nice during combat
DISGUSTED as she is walking through the muck, Memnosyne follows the group to meet Natalya. Oh, there WILL be bathing after this.
And then, on top of the sewage, Natalya adds insult to injury, as it were.
sense motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 to see if she's pulling joke or something
assuming she's not...
She plays along, for the moment. "Dear future ruler of Magnimar," she says with a low bow, "I wonder if we could impose upon you for a while." Ugh, how to get her back to Heidmarch?
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Devlin Lufftin
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Devlin picks his way through the muck as carefully as he can. As soon as he is clear and closes his eyes and seems to be trying to will himself clean. Casting Prestidigitation to clean myself off.
Devlin stays behind and to the left of Oster as he waits to see what the plan is at this moment. If I have to bow to this twit I think I might puke.
Daniel Penfold 351
Natalaya smiles at Memnosyne and Oster's words.
"That is better. It is good to see that you acknowledge that Natalaya is the mistress over you all. She moves forward slightly, just behind her, in the rubbish you can see a strangely shaped object about the side of a knife blade which glints brightly. It is clearly metallic but of an unusual metal.
Natalaya continues,
"You must return to the city and convince the general populace to follow me. Meanwhile my army (again pointing to the 4 Goblins) will attack the Arvensoar (you know that if the Goblins attack the Arvensoar - the main watch garrison they will have a life expectancy of about 5 seconds) followed by overthrowing the mayor. When this is done we will move everyone here to my palace before we take over the rest of the world."
Daniel Penfold 351
Natalaya bristles at Xango's words.
"Ah so now we come to the truth of it, you are not my followers at all.
Infamy, Infamy, they all have it in for me (sorry couldn't resist that one)
Minions attack.
Natalaya and the 2 goblins attack (the 2 that led you here have now left).
GM note - To speed up combat I have rolled initiative for you all. Order is as follows:
Devlin (15)
Oster (14)
Goblins (14)
Memnosyne (13)
Natalaya (11)
Xango (8)
Please post what you do
Devlin Lufftin
"Why did I have a feeling that this is what this delusion would come to?"
Devlin steps forward and unleashes a fan of fire engulfing Natalya and her minions. Devlin can almost sense the goblins smile as they are wreathed in fire.
Burning Hands: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 (DC 16 Reflex Save for half damage and to negate being Dazzled for 1 round.)
Oster Catus
That does speed things up, cheers.
Oster cracks his knuckles and flicks.
"Ah, the hard way. Fair enough!"
Another fan of flame rushes at Natalya and the goblins.
Burning Hands: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 DC 15 Reflex Save for half damage
If Natalya is still alive, he will draw his sap and add:
"Now, you coming quietly?"
Memnosyne
"Please, this doesn't have to be like this," Memnosyne says as she reaches out to touch Natalya.
using gentle rest touch attack to stagger her
melee touch attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
