Lets head to C18.


A line of pillars runs down the centre of this hall, between which lie the ruined remains of what was once an immense magical laboratory. Crumbled tables, broken stone urns, rusted cauldrons, and ancient fragments of broken glass lie scattered throughout. The northern wall depicts a vast mural of armies of deformed monsters and demons gathering on the shores of a mountainous island. Above, a woman's face has been carved into the mountaintop, and an immense bridge arches out from just below the woman's face. Below the mountain, at the end of a side view of tangled network of cavers, lies a vast underground vault in which an immense monstrosity of tentacles surrounds a central fanged mouth; within the mouth glares an angry red eye.

"That appears rather menacing." Devlin states while pointing at the tentacled monstrosity. Devlin also once more touches both eyes and sweeps his hand out before himself as he states "Nullam Deprehendere."

The walls, floor, and ceiling of this curving corridor are sheathed in rusty plates of iron that have been bolted in place. Scorch marks mar this armour plating at periodic intervals, and the gnawed fragments of blackened bones are scattered here and there. Row after row of tiny runes have been etched into each iron plate.

The runes are Thassilonian. They are a bit faded but the entire chamber is built to be some device to focus planar energies, with the plates designed to create a thin spot between the planes.

"That would explain a lot of things. Just give me a moment to finish taking a rubbing of this so that we can add it to our report." Devlin takes a piece of charcoal and parchment and makes a rubbing of the runes.

"Lets hope that there is nothing in her waiting for us as we make out way through this maze." Devlin keeps his eyes peeled for danger as they make their way through the winding passages.

He sneaks back towards the dog, planning to get near it and stun it.

With the enforcer talent, roll intimidate to demoralise as a free action when Oster inflicts nonlethal damage, to inflict the shaken condition for as many rounds as the damage dealt.

Prerequisite: Intimidate 1 rank.

Benefit: Whenever you deal nonlethal damage with a melee weapon, you can make an Intimidate check to demoralize your target as a free action. If you are successful, the target is shaken for a number of rounds equal to the damage dealt. If your attack was a critical hit, your target is frightened for 1 round with a successful Intimidate check, as well as being shaken for a number of rounds equal to the damage dealt.

With memorable trait, that goes up from 7 rounds to 10, and frightening class feature adds another 1 for 11 total.

The dog is shaken by the power of Oster's blow and takes the full force of Xango's blow. Devlin, you realise that it is a hell hound. It is immune to fire and vulnerable to cold and it has a fire breath weapon

"Now would you look at that. Someone left their Hell Hound all alone." Devlin says as he rounds the corner and walks up to it with his hands extended palm out. He unleashes a barrage of snowballs against it while making sure to avoid striking those he is working with.

Flurry of Snowballs: Cold damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 3) = 11*1.5=16 (DC 19 Reflex Save for half damage.)


Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12


The flurry of snow hits the hellhound, causing it to howl in pain. It collapses under the weight of disappears in a puff of brimstone
