This oddly shaped room retains some of the trappings of its former glory. Remarkably well-preserved tapestries hang at the back of alcoves above stone benches. Both depict a mountain with a woman's face carved into the peak above an immense bridge that crosses the ocean below, while at the mountain's base rises a strange city. A single stone pillar stands in the middle of the room, the image of a seven pointed star with a hole in its centre carved into its north face. A brass portcullis stands to the west, barring entry into a hallway leading beyond.

Memnosyne walks over to the central pillar. "I imagine this hole works like a keyhole. We put a 'key' in it and the portcullis opens." Then she strides over to one of the tapestries. As she stares at the artwork, her jaw drops. "It's Magnimar. or whatever they called it back then. The bridge is the Irespan. This... is worth more than money, gentlemen. This is priceless. And there's two of them!"

Hidden within the hanging road of the western tapestry is a wand of lesser restoration with 17 charges.
Memnosyne, you think if something of the appropriate shape is put into the hole it will cause the posrtcullis to open.

Although the hole isn't specifically designed for the shard, you could use an edge to turn the lock round, opening the portcullis

Devlin walks up towards the stone pillar. "Lets make sure this doesn't bare any potentially harmful magic before we try manipulating it." Devlin extends his left arm and sweeps it across the area in front of the pillar while speaking. "Nullam Deprehendere."

Devlin looks well cooked but somehow remains standing. wisps of smoke drift off of him as he rushes to the fallen Memnosyne's side. He gently opens her mouth and carefully pours a vial of the previously obtained fountain water down her scorched throat.
