SFS GM Peet |
Okay, folks, I'm going to be starting an SFS game of 1-01 The Commencement starting in a few days, mainly dependent on how fast the game fills up.
I have promised spots to two people so there are four spaces remaining. First four people to report in to this thread are in.
This is a tier 1-2 repeatable scenario so that's for Levels 1-2 and you can play it even if you already did before as long as that was with a different character. It's a good one to play as your first adventure for a character.
New players and veterans are both welcome. When you submit your character please let me know how much experience you have and if you feel you need any help.
I have GM'ed a few games but this is my first Society game as a GM. So bear with me.

Character: Huckle Jim (see notes)
Class: Soldier 2

Day Job, will have to updated (see notes)
Notes: Um, in Pathfinder, you can replay a replayable scenario, but can only use the level 2 once. I'm not sure how much they've changed the rules for Starfinder, but I've played this once and am halfway through with another level 1 character. I feel like playing this one a 3rd time, cause why not, it is credit for a character to help level him, and replayable so I'll have fun playing it infinity number of times. Both used level 1 characters, so I assume I can play it at level 2 since I haven't yet. 2nd This character if finishing up a game and the DM thinks it will be finished Monday, if not I make a brand new character, that will also be a Soldier. I'm not rolling Day Job yet, cause I gotta make sure I will be able to use him or another character and I gotta make sure he is updated, even though he is still level 2 after this, he will probably have new equipment, professional's tools if he doesn't already have them.

Hey, DoubleGold.
I don't think there is a rule in SFS forbidding playing a repeatable at higher than level 1, but I asked in the Forums just in case.
Either way it should be fine.

Hello, Polt. Welcome to PbP!
It looks like you are familiar with the game itself, just not PbP. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
Make sure you familiarize yourself with formatting. Click the "how to format your text" button below for instructions.

We will get started shortly.
RXGus: If you want to play a pregen and don't want to duplicate a class in the existing party, you could take Altronus, Raia, or Quig. Or you can build a new character. Please have the character ready within a day or so.
I will open up the Gameplay and Discussion threads momentarily. Please go ahead and Stealth-dot for now.

Noob question: What does it mean to stealth-dot?
Hi, Poit.
"Stealth-Dot" means that you place a dotting post in the gameplay thread and then delete it right away. This makes the campaign show up in your campaign tab as if you have a post in that thread, but doesn't clutter up the thread with dot posts.
If you dotted the post normally without deleting it's not a big deal.

Thanks!
I am trying to post in the gameplay tab as my character, to stealth dot it, but I keep getting this message.
You have made zero posts as "Senko, Shirren Xenohunter". You can change your avatar name until you have posted 10 messages to the messageboards.
Click here to change your avatar name.
If you do not wish to change your avatar name, you can ignore this message.
I ignore the message as it says to and hit Submit Post, but I just get the same message over and over again, with my post never going through. Do I need to do any additional setup to post as my character?

I'll just play a pregen, since I doubt I have enough time to make a character today (SFS characters take me so much longer than PFS characters). But, since I was interested in trying a solarian, I might as well use Altronus.
Dumb question (I have never used a pregen on a PBP). Do I just post as Rxgus? Or do I make an alias like Altronus-RxGus

You can do either, though if you make a separate alias I would name it "RxGus pregen" or something similar so you could switch to a different pregen in a different game.
Either way you can get the entire character sheet pre-formatted from the link I posted earlier. Just copy it and paste it into your profile.
Since everyone now knows what characters they are playing, I'll start posting stuff in the Gameplay thread shortly.

I am interested to play the confirmation with this character, if there is still a spot.
Sorry, Harisko, but the game is full already. Though that looks like Pathfinder character, and this is a Starfinder game. There is a PFS scenaio that has the same name, which confuses things.

I'm able to post normally now. Did you change some setting, or did it somehow resolve itself?
Also, how do I set a character avatar?
I didn't do anything, unless making posts counts.
If you want to select an avatar image for your character, you need to go back to your accounts page, then go to your society characters, and click the "edit" button. It is a part of the same interface that lets you make new character aliases.
