Sharmain can tell that the local is injured and fatigued, but not actively dying. Bat Elf approaches to do her own quick examination. The patient is exhausted and malnourished; it seems she has been trapped here for some time.

She doesn't need to be stabilized, and the medicine checks are not enough to provide healing (Treat Deadly Wounds). The healing spell would work, but I'll let you confirm whether you want to do that since it will use a spell slot.

You can also attempt an Engineering or Medicine check to get her out from the debris without injuring her further.

Zac uses his expert manual dexterity, assisted by Ratatat, to ever so gently lift the pieces of rubble off of her legs. She stirs, and then jerks back in surprise to find she is surrounded by strange creatures. "Baruuk t'cha nalqiq?" she cries in a hoarse voice.

Outside the storm is definitely dying down, and the electric charge fades from the air. No more fortitude saves! After you've completed round 5 you can drop out of round tracking and act freely.

Bat Elf starts clapping her hands and stomping her feet to establish a beat. She gestures to the others to join her in the beat. Clap, thump-thump. Clap, thump-thump. Once the others join her, her voice soars overhead.

Balthazar still needs to make a save for round 5

The injured native relaxes when the strangers don't look like they're going to harm her. She stares in awe at Ratatat as he flashes a grin, but it's when Bat Elf starts a song and dance routine that her mouth drops open and she watches silently. When it finishes she stares in a daze for a little longer, then suddenly waves both arms and rattles off some quick exclamations. She is no longer acting afraid.

Then she grits her teeth and tries to stand up, but collapses back to the ground. She makes a pained whining sound, and then gestures back toward the direction you came from and says, "T'ohcha leni. Baruu na?" It looks like she wants to go in that direction but her legs are still too injured for her to do it on her own.

Sharmain was a little stunned initially at Bat Elf's impromptu performance, though she joined in as best she could once she recovered from her immediate reaction.

Pleased to see their new friend relax and lose her fear of the team's presence, Sharmain is concerned about the obvious leg injury. With word and gesture she attempts to communicate:

"Slow down, slow down. You need to sit down again" Sharmain indicates, clearing some of the loose rubble in an attempt to provide a more comfortable space for both of them.

"Sharmain" she says again, indicating herself. "Bat Elf, Ratatat" she adds slowly, indicating her companions appropriately. "You are?"

Once they have both settled relatively comfortably, hopefully having established their names, Sharmain will attempt to grow their mutual vocabulary exchange while also preparing her patient. With the storm abated she feels they can spend a little more time and a rest would probably do her friends good as some of them need to recover from the havoc caused by the electrical strikes they were all trying to dodge.

Sharmain indicates her leg, then her closest companion's leg, then the local's leg, naming it in each case. Then she seeks permission to appraise and treat the injury "I'd like to look at and touch your injured leg, I am hoping to provide some healing, at least enough that you can walk safely and comfortably without doing further damage. May I look? May I touch?" Sharmain knows that many of the words will be meaningless to her patient but hopes the soothing tone of her voice and the gentle gestures will reassure. The simple questions at the end and the gestures that accompany them are hopefully sufficient to be understood clearly.

If permission is granted, or as long as there is no indication she should stop, Sharmain will assess the leg injury and then lay her hands gently upon it, using her inner strength to bring forth a healing touch.

Once per day, you can spend 10 minutes to magically heal an ally up to 5 Hit Points per mystic level.

This should provide a 10-minute rest for others to recover stamina should they choose. Is it possible for Sharmain to recover as well during this time or would an additional rest be required?

Bat Elf looks up at the lightning storm.

“If it is too dangerous to do that here, let’s bring her back to the village where the storm won’t be a cause for concern.” Bat Elf pulls off her bat cape and pulls some tools off the Batbelt. “With this and some of the materials here, we can improvise a stretcher.”

The female cautiously watches Sharmain's series of gestures. "Shaamin?" She tilts her head to one side and then points to herself. "Jiina." She makes no reply when Sharmain reaches out to touch her, but doesn't pull away either. She sighs in relief and it's clear most of her pain is relieved.

Outside the small shelter, the dark clouds still hover but the lightning has not returned. Jiina sees Bat Elf's concern and hastens to try standing up again. She winces slightly but is able to limp around agilely enough. She places one hand gently over Bat Elf's, to stop her from working on the makeshift stretcher. She points to the clouds outside and then gently traces the glowing yellow lines running down her arm. She makes a few more gestures of reassurance. The energy resistance that you identified earlier on members of this race will probably protect her from further injury due to the storm itself.

She moves over to the place where she was lying before, picks up a small bag, and holds it out to Sharmain. She jerks it forward several times, and then places it at the lashunta's feet. Jiina then moves toward the exit and looks in both directions, as if getting her bearings before heading out again.

Inside the bag:

The bag contains a Mark 1 ring of resistance, a trailblazer fusion seal (4th level), and a stash of gems worth 750 credits. Jiina makes no objection if you take all of it.

I think the healing touch counts as activity, so Sharmain would need another 10 minute rest to recover her own stamina. But now that the storm has died down it won't be a problem to take a break here. Anyone can spend the 1 resolve to restore your stamina now, if you wish. Just make a note in your next post that you're doing so.

"I don't need a rest, but I'll keep a lookout while the rest of you do."

Sharmain accepts the bag from Jiina, peeking inside she then looks up and smiles "Thank you, thank you very much Jiina. This is unnecessary though."

Sharmain's face shows a little concern as she watches Jiina head back to the village. While she knows that the markings will protect her from the storm, Sharmain still does not like the idea of Jiina heading out unaccompanied, especially when not fully healed.

"Look what she gave us," Sharmain says as she shares the contents of the bag. "I was really focused there for a bit and not tracking what you were all doing...Is everyone rested and recovered? I would not mind a brief rest myself, however, I am good to keep going if everyone else is ready."

If there is time for the additional break and her companions are willing Sharmain will spend the 10 minutes to recover her stamina. She will use the slotted promotional boon to save her resolve points.
Sharmain would happily accept the ring of resistance if there are no objections.

Zac is stunned at first as Bat Elf begins her performance, wondering to himself: "When did this mission become a musical?"
He tries too look calm and friendly to the injured alien in case it didn't react well to the performance.

Those standing guard see no signs of any other life after Jiina moves off, and the entire area gradually brightens as the clouds dissipate.

When everyone is feeling ready to move on, you continue along the route to the outpost. Without the storm it is much easier to make progress, and shortly you come up to a building that can only be what you are looking for.

It is a modular building as Guidance described, consisting of a set of circular structures connected by shorter hallways. It looks run-down and overgrown with tall grasses that surround the space. The outside surfaces are plastered with symbols of Iomedae and the Knights of Golarion, but it all looks scratched and worn. The door in the main entrance hangs open, apparently damaged by this storm or perhaps one that came before.

The doorway leads into a mostly-empty room, but the floor is littered with debris. The floor paneling has been ripped up in several areas, revealing the ground underneath and sporadic tufts of grass. There are doors to the right and left, both closed.

Zac looks to try and determine how the floor was torn up. Are there tool marks? How strong is the material? What kind of force would be required to do this? Is it just age? Is there sign of some animal that did this?

Nothing happens as you cautiously enter the room. Zac carefully examines the floor, but finds that most of the disrepair is due to age. A couple of the broken floor patches have scratch marks, indicating that they were probably ripped up with some kind of tool.

Balthazar, Ratatat, and Bat Elf all notice a glimmer on the ceiling, and spot a hidden camera fixed up at the highest point, which is 20 feet up.

Ratatat looks at the doors and sees nothing but impenetrable barriers, but luckily Bat Elf takes a second look and spots a security panel on the wall next to each one. You can attempt Engineering checks to get them open.

Seeing the hidden camera, Ratatat takes out the paper upon which he drew the Knights of Golarion logo. Ratatat writes onto that same paper: 'We come in peace.' And then draws the Starfinder logo next to the words. Ratatat then holds the paper up to the camera.

"Maybe someone is watching and will realize where not here to loot the place. Well, I mean we are here to loot the place but not in a malicious way...

"Anyways, let's see if I can get this door open..."

Ratatat's agile fingers hotwire the panel, and the door slides open. It reveals a hallway beyond, leading to another doorway at the end.

However, just at that moment a small panel opens on the wall just across from the main entrance, and a powerful laser zaps across the room. (Nobody rolled high enough to detect the trap.)

Sharmain's hand belatedly reaches for her laser pistol as she skids to a halt in the corridor. Despite her training, it is still not her first reaction when in a crisis.

This must be what Yuusht was trying to warn them about. Sharmain thinks to herself. I wonder how many more of these there are? Slowly her brain catches up and she tentatively looks around trying to spot more laser hatches. Then looks back through the door to see what how her companions fare.

Some clarification, is the laser that shot Bat Elf in the round room, or in the new room through the door?


It’s in the round entry room. I just added a red dot on the map to show where it is.

Sharmain’s hurtling debris finds a delicate point on the laser apparatus and puts a solid dent in the casing, but it doesn’t look completely disabled yet.

Glad I interpreted that correctly. Sharmain's response was to fling and flee. On consideration, this may require more from our engineers to disable it rather than combat to take it out. Such glorious rolls though, I will probably not see their like again, at least not in such tight combination.
