Only shorter and more poetic.

GM Elinnea |

We're getting close to the end, so I'm going to start filling out your chronicle sheets. I already have most of the info, but I could use the following from each of you:
Chronicle #: Which scenario is this for the character, 1st, 2nd, etc.
Starting XP: Should be identical to the final total on your previous chronicle
Starting fame: Ditto
Starting credits: Ditto
Credits spent: The value of purchases that should go on this chronicle - net of items bought and sold at the start of the scenario
Not all GMs ask for all of this information, but I'd prefer to fully fill out the chronicle before signing it.

Chronicle #: 1
Starting XP: 0
Starting fame: 0
Starting credits: 138
Credits spent: Serum of healing, mkI - 50

Will we have a chance to return to the village before we end?

Zac, check your chronicle sheet. We earned 2 fame for that scenario. If it isn't listed then Ariel made an error and we can have it corrected. Things were really rushed at the end and that's when mistakes are most likely to occur.

Chronicle #: 3
Starting XP: 2

Any questions? Bat Elf does have an up-to-date ITS.
Hmm

![]() |

Sharmain is correct. I did get 2 fame from the last run. So my starting fame is 2.

GM Elinnea |

Sorry about the delay - this weekend has turned out to be an extremely busy one. I probably won't be able to update until tomorrow, but we're just wrapping up the scenario now and I'll get your chronicles out soon.

No worries at all Elinnea. All is good you have been doing an amazing job running us through this scenario and it's a breathe of fresh air for me as I usually am the one who runs more often then plays.

![]() |

I had a blast. This was my first time playing Bat Elf, a character who had surprising depth! More than I expected, anyway!
Hmm

Well, I just came on to apologise for not being more active this weekend. Sounds like life has been happening all over.
This has been a great experience for me. I really enjoy this format and count myself very fortunate to have been included in this game. Elinnea, thank you for all your efforts being GM. I have learned a lot from you and your approach.
I like how each player brings a different flavour to the game and how everyone contributed to the story. Thank you all.
I suspect this will become a regular medium of play for me. :-)
Unless I can find an appropriately quick PbP to sneak in before then, Sharmain's next adventure will be the special in PbP Game Day. I look forward to finding out how that works via PbP. Every special I have played so far has been busy and chaotic with a fair bit of time pressure. Keeping the tables coordinated in a single room seems like enough of a challenge. Keeping them coordinated via PbP?

It will be fine! Specials in PBP are really interesting, but I like them a lot!
By the way, Bat Elf won a boon at the convention that I was in. (I was GMing, and rolled a 20 when it came time to roll for boons. I’m now applying it to Bat Elf.). She now has Knights of Golarian social boon, which seems very appropriate considering who our sponsor was!

Thanks for GMing Elinnea! This is my first PbP game, and enjoyed it a lot. An thank you to all my fellow players for helping make this such a fun experience!

Zac, I am so glad that you and Sharmain had a great time in your first PBP game! I hope that it’s the first of many!
Elinnea, this game was a home run. Thank you for GMing for us! This was a fun maiden voyage for Bat Elf!
Hmm

You all have been a joy to play with! Thank you all for joining the game. It was my first time GMing anything beyond the short stint I did in Redelia's GM school, and you've certainly made it a memorable beginning!
I'll have your chronicles ready in a day or two.

numbat1 |

So for all you experienced PbPers, especially the GMs (which I think maybe you all are), if we can find someone willing to run and rustle up a team pronto, do you think it is reasonable to expect to complete another game before 13 August and the start of PbP Gameday VII? Zac and Sharmain will be teammates again for the special and I am wondering if we can squeeze in one more game before then.
In particular, I was thinking of asking if anyone was willing to run Into the Unknown as neither of us has yet experienced the beginning of the grand adventure known as Starfinder.
I know it is a short timeframe and I would not want to jeopardize our current commitment.

![]() |

You can do a game in a month if the entire table is committed to a fast run, but I would not try anything with starship combat in that timeframe. Unfortunately, that means Into the Unknown is not a good idea. (if my memory is correct, that has two starship combats)

![]() |

Good to know. I had no idea it had that much starship combat. In that case, maybe we should aim for an early repeatable. Any suggestions for one that would be quicker for PbP?

![]() |

The other early repeatable, the Commencement, has a vehicle chase scene that also seems to take forever in PbP. I would actually suggest Fugitive on the Red Planet as the best to do really quickly of the earliest scenarios. (it's not repeatable, though)

numbat1 |

I was just trying to edit to ask about The Commencement when the system kicked me off.
Fugitive on the Red Planet would work for Richard but not for me. Any idea how #1-11 In Pursuit of the Scoured Past would run? It does not have a starship tag and I haven't played it (nor has Richard).
Edit - Never mind, I just realised that it is tier 3-6 so we are not ready for it yet. I guess we will be patient and wait for Gameday.

Please check the math, that I copied your info correctly, etc.
Edit: I've also now reported the session.
Edit 2: I just realized I didn't cross off the subtier 3-4 items. Is that something I need to fix? (Asking all the experienced pbp GMs in the room...)

![]() |

All looks good except for the Total Credits on the bottom for me should be 1,015 not 1005.
I Corrected it.
Also I fixed the crossing of the 3-4 off my chronicle as well. All is good.
Thank you again for a great game Elinnea and I look forward to more in the future.

![]() |

Skittershot might fit your bill, Numbat. Have either of you played it?
Hmm

I have not and unless Richard has been sneakily playing without my knowledge (which would be fine) then he has not either. I am not sure how interested he would be given that we would not be playing our own characters though it could be a fun time filler if we can find a game.
Thanks for the suggestion.
A huge thank you to Elinnea for a wonderful game. I appreciate all the work you put into this. My chronicle sheet looked fine except that I had noticed the higher tier items were not crossed off.

![]() |

GM Elinnea, thank you very much for running! Awesome job and was great fun! I know GMing is new to you (me too, for that matter) but it felt like you were an old hand at this!
And thanks to my fellow players as well! This was a hugely enjoyable game and the fun characters you all played had a big part in making this so much fun for me!
Oh and on an administrative note, my chronicle looks good also!

GM Hmm |

It might be possible to run Into the Unknown as a VTT before then. We'd have to mesh schedules, but we might be able to do a hybrid lowtech VTT with PBP maps and hangouts for audio.
Are you and Richard a pair?
Hmm

numbat1 |

Richard and I are good friends and I have always enjoyed his style (both as player and GM). I have not discussed with him the idea of running a duo, nor did we build these characters with the other in mind, we just kind of fell in together after I dragged Richard to his first Starfinder game a couple of months ago where Zac met my operative 701.
Life is crazy for me at the moment and organized play is my stress relief and sanity break. Being able to reconnect with Richard and enjoy gaming with him is a big bonus (as is meeting you guys).
Separately, I am interested in trying VTT and have been toying with the idea. Haven't taken the leap yet as it means meeting more new people (shy introvert here) and also learning a new technology but it sure would be good to do, especially as when I move I will not have as easy access to as many face-to-face organized play sessions (and I will need to face the whole meet new people thing, which I will do, sigh). I am not sure how easy it would be for Richard to schedule the time block needed for VTT. Hopefully, he will respond soon.

I've thought about trying VTT, but when I looked into Roll20 I found it confusing, and that seemed to be what everyone was using. I was way too nervous to try to figure it out with strangers, on a time limit. *shudder*

That’s why I was suggesting a low-tech VTT. Hangouts for audio. Google slide show for maps.

This, so much this. Perhaps we need to find a nice Roll20 educated friend to lead us through a training session.

It finally clicked what this would look like. I'd have to work out how Hangouts functions but I should do that anyway. Sounds like a good potential solution.

GM Elinnea |

Do you want to keep discussing that here? I'll mark the campaign as inactive once everyone is done with it.

Maybe what we should do is take this to email. Who would be interested in a low tech VTT of Into the Unknown? PM me your emails and we’ll see if we can figure out a date (or two dates, if we split the quests into two parts.)
Hmm

![]() |

I won't have chunks of time free for a VTT game in the foreseeable future so I'll have to pass. Have a great time and I'll see you again virtually come Gameday!
