Ok, everything has been updated mechanically for me. I will make a post tonight. Until then I gotta get the house ready for guests over to the house tomorrow and get to my nightly Crossfit workout.

Styv, they're giving the Brawler class the close weapon group proficiencies, so they can use shield strikes in their flurry of blows. Just figured I'd point that out :>
Excellent post, Teladon! I'm excited to move on already, with the changes I've seen.
Hmmmm, I definitely will be giving that a look.
Sorry for the silence guys, it's a really busy time this week what with the holiday on top of moving into a new place.
But yeah. just wanted to apologize for holding things up :/

So Thanksgiving has come and gone, but I wanted to tell you all that I am thankful to be apart of such a great pbp. I only found this style of gaming last year, and my first few games were so so at best. But the collaboration between players is so wonderful here. I very much enjoy it and want you all to know that.

I'm back from a week at the beach. Need to mull over the mythic potential for Ordrud. His 3rd level version is ready just not mythic, yet. Considering the high bar of post quality in this game, I'll delay until I get his mythic concept mature before I post to tie into the boom. Don't wait for me to post to advance the game; although, I plan to post tomorrow.
cheers

No - it was kind of sudden, and there was no real recruitment for it. Its sort of a "Well, S&S just isn't doing it for us. Lets do Shattered Star!". At least, after a little bit of planning on doing a post-S&S Ruins of Pathfinder campaign and deciding this would be better.
I wanted to do Wrath of the Righteous, but someone has plans for it, so we decided on Shattered Star instead. :P
The players are working for Karzoug through the Cyphermages.

Rasso |

I am already playing WotR, but if Rob ever opens up a game I am soooooo there.
The one I'm in currently is okay, but pales in comparison next to Rob's games.
I spent weeks making my character for WotR, and then ended up getting stuck with an overloaded DM who doesn't do the heavily descriptive cinematic style we all know and love.
I would love to play Ruarc in a Ruins version of the AP.

Teladon Azuth |

Yea, If I did it over, I had this idea for an old, grizzled Aasimar who was born to a prominent Mendev family, but quickly became jaded in his youth as people began to look to him for leadership, much like they had his father. Rather than following in his fathers footsteps, the man chose to life a life of the meak tired man, running from his destiny. Only after the opening events of Wrath of the Righteous does he find a second chance at redemption.

DM Jelani |

I know people are busy and stuff, but I'm looking for two more players to get an ACG playtest off the ground. I'd love if anyone here could help me out. As I am also very busy these days I'm not asking for a lot of time commitment. It will be 1-3 posts per week depending on my own availability to update.

Ordrud |

Mythic Ordrud
Champion
Fleet Charge
Mythic Rage
Mythic Combat Expertise
Need to update character sheet and develop inspiration for mythic post.

Nice choices, Ordrud!
So, I haven't heard anything from Ar'Z since he said he'd be back. I'll give it until the rest of you have updated for mythic and then if he hasn't chimed in I will have him break from the group before you enter the winter portal.
Ideally I'd like to move us along be Wednesday at the latest. So Styv, Marcellano and Ordrud, try to get everything up by then or we'll move on regardless.

To that note, now that we are concluded with the first two-thirds of this book and everyone should be familiar with one another, I'm going to be enacting a new process to quicken our pace:
Seconded: If we are at a point in the story where a decision has to be made (to explore a room, rest for the night, travel to a destination, etc) as long as two PCs agree on it that will be the decided course of action if no one else posts in the standard 48-hour window.
If someone has seconded and you want to interject (but don't have time at the moment) just post an OOC comment noting your intention and when you'll post. If we pass that time you specify, you'll lose your opportunity.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Rasso |

I am heartily behind that idea. Styv is a great leader but obviously Bi0 doesn’t have much posting time these days. Ar has been gone for so long I can’t see him coming back. He apparently told Crusty he was coming back to road to damnation a while ago but he hasn’t posted there either.

DM Crustypeanut |

Ar'Z said that he'd be back around the 3rd - at least he did when he messaged me. And I'm going to be getting my post up today. (Working on it right now) Been thinking on what I wanted to post, as I wanted it to be of good enough quality to count towards mythic-ness. XD
I second the idea, and agree with Rasso. With our new mythicness, it would make sense that we all end up having more of a leadership role now anyways, as I think we've just gone well beyond our expedition's expectations now.

Ordrud |

Seconded is a great idea for pace.
cheers
PS Celeador, you have so many great character concepts. Do you want to offer another one for me for Jelani's playtest? I'm getting busy right now. I have the bandwidth to play another game but not create another concept. Cheers!

:D Thanks!
Its a Mythic Ascension, so I had to make it speshul. Was having a writer's block for that, that I finally broke through. :P

Rasso |

Yeah, nice post. Was just listening to a history podcast about WW I the other day.
I want to talk in character sooooo bad, but I feel like that would be short selling Styvanus' post.

Hey folks, poking back in... Just wanted to chime in and say I'm also thankful for the game and all of you who I've been so lucky to play with. The style and cooperation in this game makes it far and away the funnest pbp I've had the honor to participate in.
That being said, I'll work on getting Styv updated tonight.
The seconded idea seems like a solid one.
Off to the updating!

Teladon Azuth |

@Rasso: I agree, hence the reason I haven't posted yet! Looking forward to it Sty, and if you make mention of my characters appearance change in your post all the better for my line.

I plan on making a post later tonight with NPC actions/reactions around 9:00pm eastern time or so. From there on out we'll be free to interact and will generally get the ball rolling again.
Also, December is shaping up to be a real bear at my office as law firms get in their billing in advance the end of the fiscal year, so I've been pulling overtime and generally working harder than usual. As such I've been pretty burned out when I get home so I may miss a day or two of posting here and there up through New Years. Please bear with me and any slowness to respond to stuff.

Still floating around here guys...
Just having a really hard time deciding where to go with Styv. Parts of me want to rebuild him as a paladin, or I even considered a oracle of Battle. That would also give us a little more healing ability with cure spells.
Idk, I really want him to take the Marshall path.
If on the off chance I go with oracle of battle, Heirophant or a dual path with Marshall and Heirophant would likely be the best.
I also considered dual path Champion/Marshall, Eventually heading towards the Steel Falcon PrC...
Kicking around this idea of Styvanus having a vision/blessing of Talmondor in his transformation into a mythic character.
Any thoughts, comments? I could use some direction folks, haha.
--On top of all of that I'm in a similar situation to Rob's as far as work goes for this month. I take calls for a living and call volumes are through the roof for this month, so I'll be doing some overtime here and there and generally being more sapped of energy than usual when I do get manage to get home.

Paladin would probably have more umpf than Oracle of Battle. I like the Talmandor idea.
Also I used to do phone tech support for Verizon. Talk about a soul draining job...I feel for you buddy.

![]() |

I did tech support for AT&T (One of their satellite companies at least), and I.. I found that to be a hard job. I'm not a very good speaker, so the job went poorly >.<
Never again.. neeevvveeerr again. I feel for ye as well!

Teladon Azuth |

@Sty: Honestly man, I see your character as a Marshal for the simple fact your character has been played as the leader of the group since we started. Being able to give commands makes sense. Dual path is a possible route, and if you did choose to, I would go with Champion.
As far as a character class rebuild goes... well that's a tough call. I could see Sty as a paladin, really I could. I think if the Brawler class got improved it would also be a good route to go.

DM Crustypeanut |

If they added Close Weapons to the list of 'flurryable' weapons (A change you could possibly talk Rob into allowing here), then you could combine you shield and fists.
In that case, should Rob allow that, I'd say go for Brawler 2/Paladin 1, though vise versa isn't bad either. This way, you gain their flurry, the paladin-ness, and you can quickly attack with your shield or shield/fist. Captain America was pretty fast with his offense, and combined fist and shield, did he not?
Plus, with your level(s) of Paladin, you can become a natural leader - a doer of good and righteous, protecting and leading his allies.
Marshal, which admitidly is not the greatest of paths, would fit perfectly in this case - Marshal/Champion or Marshal/Guardian, though plain Marshal wouldn't be thematically wrong either.
You would combine a solid, close-quarters weapons specialist with a leader able to command and direct his allies into performing better - all while bringing the hurt on. Whereas Ordrud and Rasso focus more entirely on damage, you deal damage and help the others deal even more, while remaining a solid rock, the backbone of the party.
As for later levels.. it depends on which you want to go - more martial, then focus more on Brawler. More leadership focused? Focus on Paladin. If you go the former, you would STILL want at least 2 levels of paladin, though.
If you want, I'll work up a few drafts if you want a few examples.
