-2 to Dex? Greeaaaaat, because as a ranged character, I needed less Dex.
XD (Sigh)
I guess this is payback for me destroying your glaive-guisarme in Shattered Star, eh? ;P

Talavuc |

I'll take two more cards then.
Harrow Card #1: 1d54 ⇒ 21
Harrow Card #2: 1d54 ⇒ 9
The Idiot and the Courtesan, correct?
I wonder what the third one would've been.
Possible Harrow Card: 1d54 ⇒ 7
The Illusion? Man, the dice really liked the 7-9 range.

A heads-up to you all, I'll be attending Paizocon 2014 in Seattle this coming year. If you're in the Seattle area from July 3rd - 6th I'll gladly meet up :)

Sorry for the silence folks, December has been a crazy month, but it seems it's been a little crazy for everyone else as well. I'll read the gameplay posts and try to get a a post up.
Styvanus will also take the hero points, He's a hero, he needs them!

The Idiot card is dreadful. It reduces your Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma scores by the listed amount below, permanently:
Int Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Wis Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Cha Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
However, the Courtesan turns one of your most prized possessions into an Intelligent magic item. This is, without a doubt, Talavuc's wayfinder. The wayfinder now has the following statistics:
Talavuc's Wayfinder
Aura strong transmutation; CL 12th
Slot neck; Price 133,900 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
This battered, old wayfinder is familiar to Talavuc. However, when worn by its chain around her neck, the wayfinder serves as a powerful magical talisman, containing a primal intelligence of nature incarnate represented by a deep, resonating voice in the druid's mind.
Talavuc's Wayfinder functions as a headband of mental prowess, granding a +4 enhancement bonus to Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. It's associated skill ranks are Survival and Knowledge (geography).
Furthermore, the wayfinder is an intelligent item possessing the following stats:
Int: 11
Wis: 14
Cha: 13
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Ego Score: 13
Communication Method: Telepathy
Senses: 30 feet; Perception +2
Languages: Erutaki
Intelligent Item Power: 1d100 ⇒ 8
Spell-Like Ability: Talavuc's wayfinder can cast detect magic at will.
Special Purpose Power: 1d100 ⇒ 53
Special Purpose: Talavuc's wayfinder's singular purpose is the restoration of Baba Yaga, Queen of Witches. While acting in these interests, Talavuc's wayfinder may cast truespeak on itself at will, allowing it to act as a translator for Talavuc via their telepathic bond.

Sorry Rob, getting ready for my trip. Wife has has me doing a ton around the house and I have been neglecting the forums. Teladon will go with:
Magic Inheritance:
A long-dormant source of eldritch power has found itself awakened in you. Be it from a distant ancestor or a gift from a divine patron, this power feels intuitive and natural to use.
Choose one 1st-level spell. You may use this spell as a spell-like ability 3 times per day with a caster level equal to your character level.
I will choose Shocking Grasp. I do have a question though, can I use metamagic with it, since I have the trait that allows me to apply a metamagic level of 1 that does not increase the overall spell level? Also do you have a problem with this version of Shocking Grasp being used via spellstrike?

Teladon Azuth |

Well my friends... I am going away on business. I won't be able to access the pazio forums for a while. Rob is going to send me updates via e-mail and we will try to see if I can incorporate my posts via e-mail for the time being being. I won't be able to play off of you much, but hopefully I can still contribute. If things don't workout via e-mail then Rob will DMNPC me. I'll check in when I can.
-Teladon

Ordrud |

Travel safe, Teladon.
Rob, Ordrud will take Furious Focus. The avatar is updated.
cheers

I don't think it would have made a difference this time, but shouldn't the owl bear also take a -2 to attacks while it has the grappled condition in addition to the -4 dex (ie. to it's iterative attacks)?

![]() |

This guide explains a ton of the various grapple rules. I'd take a look at it! :D
After reading this guide numerous times, I am no longer afraid of including grappling in my encounters. In fact, I kind of like to now ;)

Inspired dmnpc of The Captain, Rob!
Sorry again for the silence, Anyone else notice here in the States we've been gripped by the Reign of Winter?
The cold sucks, haha.
But I'm ready to get back into the swing of things here, and I'm eager to get a post written when Styv is up again.
Thanks everyone, stay warm!

Rasso |

I grew up in Ohio, my wife is from SE Ohio also considered Appalachia. I remember going to this hockey game in Wheeling when I was a kid.
Country roads.....take me home.... :P

Ar'Zarrcal |

It's been wretchedly cold here in NY as well. I just came back from visiting Montreal (among other Eastern Canadian cities) at the end of November and I can confirm that Montreal is cold. It was bitterly cold in Canada at the end of November / beginning of December, I can only imagine how cold it is now. Quebec City's Citadel definitely took the cake for being the coldest place I visited during the trip, though it did snow two and a half feet in Ottawa overnight when I stayed there.
Montreal is a beautiful city. The botanical gardens were magical even in the Canadian winter.

Fenyx is probably neck-deep in World of Warcraft.. and I? Well.. uh.. see, theres this game called Rust that I found on Steam..
And its more addicting. Yeeeeeaaaaahhh....
Working on my post now!

![]() |

It *is* neat - though also very buggy and filled with hackers. Obviously, its still in its alpha state, so thats to be expected.
Its funny running around as a naked man with a rock, trying to chase a pig to beat it over the head to get its raw chicken breasts.
XD
Feel free to add me on steam btw - name's Crustypeanut (Surprise surprise) - though there appears to be two of them (One's an old account that I forgot I had), so the one to add is the one with the red background and evil-grinning-dwarf on it.

Teladon Azuth |

Morning Guys, I had some things come up. Long story short.. I am back home and have access to the forums. Not sure how long it will last for, but while I am here no need to get e-mail updates. I'll let you guys know if things change.

Teladon Azuth |

Updates from me are starting to pick up. I want to have the full set done by the end of tonight. Disclosure.. I came home early due to some issues at home that I don't really want to discuss. Long story short I am spending a lot of time taking care of my wife. When I do get free time I'll post.

![]() |

So it looks like you guys are a little divided. I've heard one call to scout the village, others want to wake one/or more of the unconscious people to question them. I don't see a clear line of intention, so ill let you all talk it out a bit more.
Plus Marcellano turned into Mr. Freeze in front of you all.

![]() |

I'll check it out today, Rob! (Edit: Oh wait, can't start voting until tuesday!)
Also, some of you might be wondering why in the hell I took a rank of Knowledge(Geography) at level 3 when its not a class skill. I'm going Horizon Walker, and thus I need 6 ranks in it. Its kind of useless right now (Except, you know, right NOW, heh), but eventually I'll be excellent at it.
He's a survivor, and he plans on learning to survive in this damned frozen environment if he's going to be here long. And by long, he means any more time here at all, because he's already sick of the cold.
XD

I am eager to see and vote on the next batch of entries. I voted on some for round 1, though there were so many. I'm not sure I ever came across yours or not Rob. Reading the entry now, I really like the idea behind it. It definitely has flavor that any GM could work with: You can see them, but now they can also see you.
I'm glad you made it through to the next level. I look forward to the Round 2 entries.

Fenyx Dagannauth |

I'll be en route to work when it opens, sadly, but it gives me something to look forward to tonight.
But here's some tasty Clutch offerings whilst waiting.

Fenyx Dagannauth |

Ditto. Managed to blend aspects of two genres that are my faves. I am always surprised at the redundancies that crop up throughout these contests, though; out of hundreds of contestants (boiled down even further) it's odd seeing multiple people hitting on almost identical cords. I really liked the chimney troll and grymps in this round as well.

Rasso |

I also voted for Chimeny Troll and Guttersnipe and Grymps. As well as Rob's. Though I didn't really like Grymps they were better than the alternatives at that point.
