OK. Here's the recruitment thread for a gestalt Annversary edition RotRL PbP.

Base character gen information:

1st level

20 point buy

All gestalt class combos must be multi-classing legal. No archtypes as different classes, no specialist caster or specialist manifester combos, no alternate class combos. For the purpose of this game I'm limiting gestalts to two classes (even though I've always loved the fighter/magic-user/thief combo from 2nd AD&D).

All Pathfinder classes, all Dreamscarred psionic classes, Bo9S/ToB are acceptable.

3rd party or 3.5 classes not duplicated by a Pathfinder class are acceptable as long as I have access to a copy of the class.

Traits: 3 total as long as one is a Campaign trait.

Note: I will allow a change in the Campaign trait once the new Player's guide comes out if one fits your concept better at that time.

Of the 4 standard class stats: BaB, Fort, Reflex, Will; you must use at least one from each class you gestalt.

Here's an example from a character I'm running now: She's a ninja/sorcerer: BaB [as Ninja]; Fort [as Sorcerer], Ref [as Ninja], Will [as Sorcerer]. You don't have to keep it evenly split, but you must use one catagory from each class.

Races: All Pathfinder races OK, 3rd party or new built with Race Guide will need reviewed.

Also, I am considering starting with a prequel (possibly Chopper's Isle)while waiting for the Anniversary edition to come out.

Starting funds: Max for one class, roll for the other but do not multiply by 10.

Example: For my Ninja/Sorc starting money would be Ninja = starting money as Rogue: 4d6=24x10=240 plus sorc: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 so her starting funds in this case would be 243 g.

Edit: Hit points:
Max plus con SCORE at first level. Example: my Ninja/Sorc: 8 + 13 = 21

Leveling up: Roll and add con BONUS; however if you roll below PFS standard for your hit die use that instead:

d6: 4
d8: 5
d10: 6
d12: 7

Silver Crusade

Dotting. highly interested in Rise of the Runelords, only heard great things about it.

Thinking elven ranger (archery) wizard combo for it.

Good to see you Xzaral.

You too Azure_Zero

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

How detailed a submission do you want?

So many good gestalt combos,
I don't know where to start.

I also found a nice freebie PDF
and it has drinking rules

Hmmm,

Thinking either Warblade/Fighter

Warblade/Factotum, if that's allowed

I'd need a copy of the Factotum. One of the few 3.x books/classes we never got.

White-hair witch/monk of the lotus for me.

GM:

Wall Climbing and this Spell Finesse are they alright to use?

** spoiler omitted **

Should be OK. PF has a few feats that allow swapping of prime stats.

Dark Archive

Is there still room in this one? I would so be down for this, thinking a gunslinger/caster of some sort

Would a half giant psychic warrior empyreal sorceror work?

Dotting for interest...

...

...

That should do it.

Dark Archive

infact I am think a tengu gunslinger/rogue....if I went this route though I not sure if since the books is not out if I should base it on the 3.5 wotc kenku for now, thoughts?

Would you allow this book (a good collection)

Here's the part I would like.

The Exchange

Dotting. I'll have a concept up, probably some time today. But first, I've got to look through some books.

Dotting. Is there somewhere I could find a summary of Gestalt rules?

The Exchange

Gestalt Rules

Gestalt Rules

Ninja'd

I think I will go with a Mindchemist Alchemist/ Void Mage.

When you say all pathfinder races okay, does that include monster races? Just curious.

Hm. Looks interesting. Were you interested in just the race or the race/class combo?

I was thinking about the race/class combo

I'm still waiting on my ARG copy to look at race ideas

I might try making a fighter/rogue

Wait, what did you say about specialist caster combos? Does that mean all your wizards have to be universalists?

Also is a Ratfolk okay?

Dark Archive

I will put together my tengu Gunslinger/Rogue...question though Ninja are you not saying no archtypes at all? cause I was thinking of doing a pistlero gunslinger/rogue

Dotting to draw up my gunslinger/ninja combo, probably musket master for
A real sniper feel

No, You can make a specialist wizard. You just can't combo it with another specialist wizard.

Ratfolk are OK.

Archtypes are OK, just same as for specialist casters. A class with an archtype cannot combo with the same class with a different archtype.

Pistolero gunslinger/rogue is legit.

Dark Archive

cool I will throw it together and post it in awhile

John Woodford wrote:

Right now, race and class combo, so I can see what options we have.

Due to issues with the gestalt game I'm currently in, someone MUST be able to heal. (No one combo'd a divine caster into the mix. Ow.)

Preferably more than one as backup, but at least one.

I was planning on a assault combo, but

I could make a partial-power or full power healer if It's really need.
(there is likely another combo I can come up with)

partial-power healer combos
Barbarian-Bard
Bard-Fighter
Bard-Monk(Martial artist)
Bard-Ninja

full power healer Combos
Barbarian-Cleric
Barbarian-Oracle
Cleric-Fighter
Cleric-Monk(Martial artist) (Might pull out Alkaid for this)
Cleric-Ninja
Ninja-Oracle

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

OK, concept is a half-orc swordsage/ranger, who abandoned his birthname and goes by Katai now.

ETA: Strike that, I'll go back to my original concept for a human paladin (warrior of the holy light)/flame oracle. He's a follower of Sarenrae from Varisia, traveling the country as an itinerant healer and doer of good deeds.

GM:

If you want me to make an interesting character I could make Alkaid
Here is Alkaid's race
she's a Cleric(theologian) Monk(martial artist)
(I would have added the Monk archetype Drunken master, but they swap some similar class features)

she also has some persona quirks

Silver Crusade

The level of ranger lets me use some healing wands too

Scarab Sages

I would love a chance to play in a Rise of the Runelords campaign.

My entry would be a Human Synthesist / Bladebound Kensai.

All primary stats overlap except Fort save and BAB; due to progression differences I would be full BAB while fused.

Dotting for interest because...

a) I love gestalt play, particularly limited gestalt
b) You clearly understand the hazards - munchkinism, ridiculous multiple dipping, squirrelly archetypes, etc.

Grrrr... tempting... VERY tempting.

Less interested in munchkinism than the opportunity to play Rise of the Runelords.

It is tempting though.

Dotting for interest.

Thinking a Monk/Druid combo. A TRUE Warrior of the Wilds. Prolly a Animal Totem Archtype for the druid.

I will get something up when I get home from work!

Sounds interesting. I take it that alignment restrictions still hold? So no Barbarian/paladin builds?

When do you intend to start? When do you want character builds up?

And how many people are you taking for your game?

I was planning on making my Alchemist a supplemental healer, I managed with another alchemist I had all the way through an AP before. The Witch has heal spells available as well. If we were playing evil characters, some of the wizards could take infernal healing, but that isn't really my bag.

Dark Archive

oterisk brings up a good point is this a good campaign or evil or somewhere in the middle or none of the above (eg is there any alignment restrictions)?

OK... I'd like to throw my hat in the ring.

Depending on the alignment of the campaign, I'm thinking a LN or LG Gnome Sorcerer/Monk. I haven't gotten so far as to think about archetypes but the Sorcerer will be one of the standard bloodlines in all likelihood - not crossblooded, etc.

If you've got a problem with gnomes, please say so. I know there is a fair amount of gnome-hate on the boards.

I'm interested if you'll have me.

My proposal would be a half-orc barbarian(Invulnerable Rager)/oracle (Dual-Cursed Oracle) with battle mystery (basically rage prophet without the prestige class) that uses a Guisarme.

If allowed, I'd take the toothy alternate racial trait to get the bite attack and use the half-orc alternative favoured class bonus to get the extra rage. I plan on taking the beast totem line of rage powers and the lameness curse(primary) and speak in tongues curse(secondary) for the oracle class.

I am going to desperately need you to consider BITER! Goblin (yes, you heard it, goblin) Barbarian | Rogue.

I do realize the role goblins play in one of the acts of RotR, but Biter is a hater of his kind. He is an outcast and a reject, who would love nothing more than to show those little grubbers the flat of his blade.

Silver Crusade

rough character outline

Kinda went nuts earlier. I hope enthusiasm isn't frowned upon.

Quick question just to confirm...

I read your "limiting gestalts to two classes" to mean no PrCs at later levels. Is that correct?

Dark Archive

I'm interested in running a life oracle/Paladin

Interested in running a dwarven fighter/ranger.

Curious as to the hit points of your Ninja/Sorcerer. I'm guessing it's around 3rd level or so? If not, I would guess you're stacking hp's from both classes instead of going with the higher hit die? Just want to make sure I understand it correctly.
