Odak the Iron Giant |
> The giant continued to sit as Tigerwolf spoke to the human in his grasp, upon his lap next to the unconcious one. His grip tightens as he hears words about cooking the humans, his eyes peering down at the concious one with concern.
"What if it is all big mistake? Can we tell them stop?"
The giant lifts the awake human up to his face, eye to eye,
"You not know this land was taken right? You sorry right?"
Greez Fhang |
Looks over toward Tigerwolf when mentioned about his good job. "Not let the one get away. Warn others. No want get that when fight. So tackled! Then headbutt." A large finger jabbed the out cold human to indicate who was talking about. Eyes looked over the small body and then shook head.
"No slave. To small be useful!" After saying that went to move toward the cowering elks to look them over with a tilted head. A large hand held out open as if trying to see if one might not just be aggressive. Since after all, he hadn't done a single hurtful thing to any of the elks.
"Like one these if like me. Use to carry things don't want to carry!"

The elk do not look friendly at all, lowering their impressive racks of antlers and pawing the ground as Greez approaches.

The human looked up at the giant clutching him and gulped. "Ahummm, yes...sorry. Very sorry," he stammered out.
Dergosh the Loud |
"Grrrrrrr," Dergosh rumbled. "Prisoners only slow us down. Chief says we should get oil and bombs and bring them back, that's what we should do. Smash humans' heads to pulp and bring hearts back to the Chief along with bombs and oil," he huffed.
Tigerwolf Runt |
Looks at Dergosh. "Do you want to deny the Chief the chance to kill those who desecrates his gods sacred area? Yes They slow us down but not that much" She kneels looking at the human.
Speaking in Orcish."Karol, check him for the magical mark please. We need to see if they are affiliated."
Doctor Majuba |
To Dergosh and Tigerwolf The chief sent us to get oil and bombs, not babysit pinkskins he then turns and looks at the prisoners Let me have their heads to give to the chief
Garmack Scareye |
Garmack calls Urrogajutar over, happy to be reunited with his friend after the battle.
"Forgive me Urrogajutar, I will not always so easily abandon you from now on. They simply needed me more up there."
He then looks at Majuba and speaks up in orcish
"Majuba, you need not worry about being slowed down. With our large friend here carrying them we should have no problems getting around just as quickly as we always have. Isn't that right Odak?"
With that, he would move towards Greez and the elks. Despite his ferocious and somewhat menacing appearance Garmack wishes the elks no harm and tries to calm the down

Urrogajutar |
Runs towards Garmack, nearly tackling him on arrival. At his words, he gives off a gruff growl as if not quite happy with the excuse before following Garmack, tail shaking.
At the sight of the elk, he moves as if to attack one of them then thinks better on seeing what Garmack is trying to do. Instead, he moves off towards the nearest dead elk to make a meal of it's remains.
Karol Heart Singer |
Karol breaks out his pipe, thinking carefully. We should get this information to the great chief, but we should finish our mission. Gheez, you caught him, you make sure he behaves. First thing, though.
He turns to the prisoner. In common he says take your armor off.
Mercurion |
@Garmack: The elk continue to watch the group fiercely, particularly anyone that gets too near them.
@Karol: Just for clarification, the human that Greez tackled is still unconscious. However, the other one that surrendered removes his armor, which is a chain shirt. (The unconscious one, who had the map, wears a breast plate, while all the dead humans wear chain shirts). His weapons consist of a heavy crossbow, spear, and back-up dagger.
Dergosh the Loud |
Looks at Dergosh. "Do you want to deny the Chief the chance to kill those who desecrates his gods sacred area? Yes They slow us down but not that much" She kneels looking at the human.
Speaking in Orcish."Karol, check him for the magical mark please. We need to see if they are affiliated."
Dergosh shrugs. "We kill, Chief kills, all the same-- dead humans, as they should be. These softskins barely worth getting blood on my mace."
Garmack Scareye |
Garmack shakes his head at the elk, a wry grin spreading on his face
Seems your masters trained you well, I will not harm you so go about your business in peace Antlered One
With that thought he moves towards the unconscious human so as to unbuckle his breastplate and remove his weapons as the first human did himself
Odak the Iron Giant |
> Odak allows the human and Garmack to take off their chain shirt armour before lifting them back up again his chest again, holding the prisoners close to him,
"Human is sorry, will guard him now.",
the giant rumbles, seeming a bit protective of the human prisoners, wrapping his arms around each one like a stuffed toy,
"Don't want anyone hurt for mistake."
Doctor Majuba |
Oops, looks like I forgot Dergosh, I will heal him up to full
So are we keeping the pinkskins for the chief to deal with? The Doctor grumbles
Karol Heart Singer |
don't worry, odak. No one is going to hurt them by mistake. karol says with a grin.
but they are a hindrance. If this kobold issue involves a fight, a dangerous one. Bind them, bind them well.
Dergosh the Loud |
Oops, looks like I forgot Dergosh, I will heal him up to full

The orc cleric thanked Majuba while watching the humans being tightly bound up with cords, the sour look on face not improving his looks any. Rapping Odak's armor with his knuckles he looked up at the giant and said, "Sorry friend, looks like you have to carry the weakling softskins. Any trouble comes, throw them to the ground; if heads accidently get stomped under your boots, oh well. Just be careful after, brains on bottom of boot can be slippery."
Mercurion |
The Wolftooth party hurried out of the gully, hoping to make up for lost time while the moon was still up. Smelling the humans, their dire wolf mounts growled lowly, hoping to be allowed to tear theit throats out.
Somewhere along the jarring journey eastwards, the second human woke up. With bleary eyes he took in the situation, including the fact that he was being carried along by an armor clad giant. ”Where are you taking us?” he said, making the question sound like a demand. ”The Queen will pay a handsome ransom for us you know. You value gold, don’t you?”
Tigerwolf Runt |
Tigerwolf moved her mount closer and grinned at him. "Depends on what our chief says. You destroyed a sacred monument and invaded our lands. What is the punishment in human lands for that?" She looked up at him and would keep moving with the others.
Odak the Iron Giant |
> The giant treads along the path from the center, offering the best chance for a defence if attacked from in front, behind or even above. With the humans bound, he holds them against his chest with his forearms, watching each of them carefully. He does not interfere with the conversation just yet.
Greez Fhang |
Travels along with the rest. Always being on the look for something which seemed 'off'. Often doing twists of body or rolls along the ground, yet almost always doing something else besides simply walking. All the while making a bit of a loud commotion to keep himself at least entertained. Either was simply growling or whistling loudly or slapping a hand or foot against something was passing.

Doctor Majuba |
The Doctor will follow behind Odak, keeping an eye on the pinkskins and grumbling about how the defilers should be dead for the crimes they have committed.
Mercurion |
Tigerwolf moved her mount closer and grinned at him. "Depends on what our chief says. You destroyed a sacred monument and invaded our lands. What is the punishment in human lands for that?" She looked up at him and would keep moving with the others.
“Actually, in civilized lands that’s worth quite the reward. The Queen is quite generous; you too, could be well rewarded by returning me to her service,” he says loudly enough for all to hear. “Magic, instead of gold perhaps, and an agreement to leave your village be. I speak for the Queen; she can be a powerful ally.”
Mercurion |
With the human captives in tow, the Wolftooth clan continued on their way. As they moves eastward the hills began to shrink and the travel become easier. Here and there they had to route around sinkholes where the limestone had worn away, but they had no other difficulties.
A long journey brought them within sight of the home of the Rock Eye kobolds, a low flat exposed hill with a prominent cave opening some fifteen feet high and twenty wide positioned halfway up the slope. The opening was partially hidden by foliage cascading over the cave mouth, and it appeared that rocks and other refuse had been piled several feet high across the opening as a partial barrier.
As the expedition approached within hailing distance a high-pitched voice issued from inside the cave mouth, followed by another that sounded similar but slightly more nervous.
Tigerwolf Runt |
Tigerwolf looks at the men and laughs. "You mean the same queen that would purge her kingdom killing innocent children just because they hold the blood of other races. No thank you." She said and would continue riding not caring for them.
Once they got to the hailing distance she would call back in draconic.
"I am Tigerwolf from the Clan Wolftooth. We come seeking Goblin Oil and bombs. Also to reestablish contact and help our allies."
Garmack Scareye |
Garmack lets out a loud laugh at the human's pitiful attempts at convincing them and speaks up
"I would rather serve myself on a silver platter to the Tarrasque, trussed up like a boar with an apple in my mouth than betray my tribe"
With that he pulls away on the back of Urrogajutar, still chuckling to himself. Upon arriving at the entrance and hearing the draconic voices, Garmack freezes and signals his companion to do the same before lifting his hands in a sign non violence
Hearing Tigerwolf answer in the strange tongue, Garmack also speaks in both orcish and common "Me and my friends come in peace, we were sent here by our Chief who you should know well and we mean no harm"
Mercurion |

"That can be arranged," the man says menacingly.
Dergosh the Loud |
@Odak Do you know what the strange squeaky voices say?
Though the question wasn't directed at him, Dergosh spoke up. "Talking jibber-jabber. Good thing Tigerwolf speaks jibber-jabber, too."
Tigerwolf Runt |
Tigerwolf smiled at the talk going on behind her. Managing to keep any laughter she felt contained.
In orc. "They asked who we were, and what we wanted. Also that visitors aren't welcome and the King forbids us from going in and we should go away."
"Kobolds of the Rock Eye tribe. We come bearing a message from the Chieftain of the Wolftooth tribe. Your King would want to hear the words we come bearing and would be very happy with the meat we bring as an offering."
She motions to the chunks of elk meat from the elks that had been killed.
"Would you deny your King elk meat. We do not need to enter. Only to speak with your king in person and give the gift personally and pass on the words from our Chieftian. I am sure we can spare some meat for you also."

Dergosh shifted from one to foot to the other. ”Tell jibber-jabbers to give us bombs and we *will* go away.”. He seemed to mostly forget about the goblin oil when thinking of the promise of good, loud bombs.
The first voice was cut off by the 2nd.
Tigerwolf Runt |
"We need goblin oil also Dergosh. The first voice said he likes moldy meat more. The second said to leave the meat and if the King Perz the 1th says it is good maybe we come back tomorrow with more. Do you know if that is the current king of the kobolds?"
Know:Local: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Turning to the kobolds.
Mercurion |
What each of you knows about the kobolds was covered by the knowledge checks I had you make way back at the beginning of the expedition.
The sounds of a short, violent tussle ensued.
Tigerwolf Runt |
"First voice said, 'King says to leave meat come back tomorrow. Don't know anything about any humans.' Second voice that spoke said. 'He did? King come back? oh wait...', then the sounds of tussling."
How far is the cave entrance?
Tigerwolf would move forward a bit trying to get a look at what was going on.
"Sounds like the King is out or missing."
Greez Fhang |
While listen to Tigerwolf speak that unknown language to him, looks around some more to make sure something was not 'off' with what was happening. Even if did not stop shifting from foot to foot to stay in some form of movement.
"Short ones make head hurt more then should."
Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Dergosh the Loud |
The Doctor leans on his staff Pffft...Kobolds can't live with em, can't eat em too stringy
"Ho ho! What do you call a kobold with good taste? Well seasoned."
Mercurion |
Greez doesn’t seen anything amiss as Tigerwolf gets closer to the cave entrance. She gets within 20 feet or so to see a pair of indistinguishable kobolds standing inside, their fighting done for now. Seeing her come closer one screams at her.
Tigerwolf Runt |
She stands her ground but shows them her hands are empty.
Odak the Iron Giant |
> Odak quietly carried the humans under his arms as they travelled to the Kobold cave, he listens carefully to one of them talking to Tigerwolf, a mere observer and transportation unit for now. Later, he reaches the entrance and watches the ensuing argument spoken in languages he barely understood; dragonic sounded so sharp and hissy, nothing like the grumble and grunting of Orc.
The giant would've replied to Majuba in a timely manner if Dergosh hadn't gotten to answer it first, though he did not mind, he would've felt a bit embarrassed to know so little about the situation.

After having spoken his piece, Garmack will simply watch the proceedings until such a time as his action is required.
He keeps a watchful eye on the Kobolds, prepared to react at the slightest sign of danger

Another scuffle ensued, followed by one of the kobold’s screaming. He comes pouring over the barricade, a knife stuck in his shoulder, to run behind the gathered Wolftooth warriors. Tigerwolf sees the other kobold still in the cave, breathing hard.
