Karol Heart Singer |

Sorry also very busy.
Karol says I agree, it's a good plan

Tigerwolf Runt |

Tigerwolf nods at Garmack. "You are ranged, I am close. I suggest at least you go high. You can use the high ground with ranged. I would only be able to do close combat."
She said. "Best to not go alone. We both go to top. The rest continue on?"

Odak the Iron Giant |

> Odak feels as though everyone was in on the plan and starts to move on forward, feeling less anxious now that he was up front and could move at his own pace.

Karol Heart Singer |

Karol moves after Odak, his axe drawn and his drum ready.

Karol Heart Singer |

As far as I understand, garmack and tigerwolf go up top, and the rest of us move down the path. Whether we do it quietly depend if someone stops dergosh from bellowing. Odak first, the Karol and dergosh, then Greez.

Tigerwolf Runt |

Probably best to let us go first. Since climbing up to get to the higher ground will take a little time. Especially if it is a steep climb.
"Dergosh, wait. If you are bellowing our presence then you are ruining the option for us to climb up and catch them by surprise. Give us some time to get up there"
She started looking for a trail they could climb up.

Garmack Scareye |

Garmack chuckles at Tigerwolfs subtle manipulation as he moves to climb up the hill.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 to find the easiest way up
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 if required to go up the hill

Tigerwolf Runt |

She followed Garmack's lead with a grin.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 To watch for danger ahead and for possible ambush points
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 If needed also

Mercurion |

Garmack and Tigerwolf spot a likely place to begin to climb the craggy hill. Note that they will be climbing at 1/4 speed and won't be in visual contact with the rest of the party, so coordination could be a challenge. The rest of the party is moving into the gully? If that is correct, all party members please roll a stealth check (should be amusing for Dergosh!), and those proceeding down the gully also make a perception roll please

Garmack Scareye |

We told the others to wait a little bit before moving on so I say they wait at least 6 rounds before moving out
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Tell me if I need more

Greez Fhang |

Keep a look out from the back. Not trying to be stealthy yet followed along with ones more in front.
Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
stealth check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Karol Heart Singer |

Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
oh dear

Tigerwolf Runt |

That is kinda why we chose this mission, no real sneaking. I can sneak but climbing is priority right now. How many check do we need to take Mercurion? To get where we can walk along the "top" of the gully line.
She can hear them clearly and keeps from laughing. Well, they had wanted to come on this because they weren't sneaky.

![]() |

After hearing the ruckus made by the group, the doctor readies himself
Well do we go forward or wait for whomever to come to us?

Tigerwolf Runt |

Well this will end badly because we will eventually fail with that many checks unless they are dc 5. Not only that everyone is going to be in that gully way before we get up there. 100ft moving at 7 1/2 feet a round=14 checks
She would grab out her pitons and rope and has Garmack help set them into the rock and give them climbing points so if there is a fall its short.
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Garmack Scareye |

We can move 15ft per round by dedicating the full round to the movement (2 move actions) and we told the others to give us a head start of 6 rounds earlier meaning we won't be too far from the top by the time they move out

Mercurion |

As the scrambled up the rocks, Tigerwolf and Garmack couldn’t help but grimace as their companions clanked, thudded, and buzzed below them in the gully like a marching band on parade. Letting Dergosh shout out a challenge might actually have been less noisy.
Those moving up the gully found that it steadily climbed uphill between steep sides.
Suddenly from above there was a shout, “Enemies approach!” followed shortly by the distinctive twang of a crossbow.
Attack upon Odak: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 52
A thick crossbow bolt thuds into the ground in front of Odak and then explodes in a puddle of hissing, blazing white light, illuminating the area in an alchemical glow. “Goblin scum!” the voice above shouts out. Dergosh glowers, shading his eyes against the bright light. The orc cleric is highly offended; being called scum is one thing, but being called a goblin was altogether too much. Further up the gully you hear shouting begin.
The shouting, both from above and further up the gully, is in Common. The crossbow bolt stuck in the ground has a tube attached to it that it burning like a magnesium flare, and looks like getting hit with it would cause serious burns. Anyone with light sensitivity within the circle marked on the map suffers penalties as if in a daylight spell.
For Garmack and Tigerwolf, the shouting on the ridge sounds like it is still 20 to 40 feet away from them, though they can’t see anyone from their current position. EDIT for clarification: Garmack is about 20' ahead of Tigerwolf

Garmack Scareye |

I'm guessing that by away from us you mean up.
Garmack redoubles his efforts to reach the top as his friends are attacked. Goblins? Oh no we are much much worse he thinks with a savage grin spreading on his face
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Once he reaches the top Garmack scans his environment as he draws his bow
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

The doctor is clearly annoyed with the cowardly attack upon his clan as he lets out a primal scream while pounding his bare chest with his right hand and raising his 12' staff over his head.
BRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
and either look for shelter in the rocks or move with the group
Do we want to rush out of the kill zone

Greez Fhang |

Lifted a arm up to block the light that suddenly came. He wasn't in it'd direct effected area yet still didn't like how it appeared so suddenly. A hand pulled out a pair of shurikans to throw if first target spotted was just out of reach normally. A loud growling coming from him. "Cowards!"

Tigerwolf Runt |

Tigerwolf would keep climbing to get up.
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
There were people up here but she knew more would be down below for those to play with. At least the others were making noise.
Once up she would look around.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Karol Heart Singer |

Round one
Karol starts tapping his drum, and starts a battle chant.
forward wolftooth, strike the foe, beat him down to the ground: pound the flesh rip the throat, glory comes to our mighty host
+1 to the lower party's attack and damage.
Karol steps to cover.
remember everyone, orcs have light sensitivity

Mercurion |

Growls at the light and the voices calling down to them as he moves to cover while waiting for a chance to strike.
Don't forget he's on the ground as well, wolves don't climb
Well, I did indeed forget about him. However, I don't think he can attack independently unless Garmack is there to give him commands, can he?

Greez Fhang |

Growls loudly while squinting eyes as moved forward fast. Feet would bound off the ground to jump toward the closer wall to push off with feet and one hand to attempt to leap closer toward the front of in coming battle. Or at least attempted it. If that didn't work in his favor simply would have followed behind the others as they moved forward.
Acrobatic check for the jump: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Here's hoping not to stay in back and in the middle of nice melee battle.

chillblame |

Garmack I'll give you a reply in discussion.
The key word is recognizable. Animals are train to attack , which can be any unknown targets, any unrecognized targets, any who enter a certain area and so on. The attack trick allows an owner to direct the animal to attack a specific target of the owners choosing, not attack anything that goes into its area. Guard defends an area and so on. This is why in real life a handler stays with the dog, to guide it. Assuming you told your beastie to stay, it will wait for you only attacking something if it is attacked. If you told it to defend odak, then it would follow him, and attack anyone who attacked/is threatening him and anyone who attacks it.
This is why you still need to use the handle animal skill to direct your animal, though you get big bonuses as it is an animal companion. It still acts like a creature of its type in general, unless you order it. Granted it is a superior animal, and highly intelligent for its type, but still.
It could be assumed that you told it to stay or guard, and it will obey that unless circumstance intervenes, or you give a new order.
This is subject to mercurions decision of course, I'm just putting my two cents in. There is usually a lot of hand waving when it comes to animal companions in general, I have noticed.
